Should I Spend Donuts On Superheroes Issue 2 Returning Items Part 2?

coolsville_menu unlock_milo

Coolsville and Milo have unlocked for premium purchase this morning (150 donuts).  Yes, I’ll have a full breakdown post on it for y’all.  I have to evaluate it first…so look for the SIB post soon 🙂

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Because all Superheroes need a sequel…Superheroes 2 has found its way into our pocket sized Springfields!  This super event hit our devices…and with it arrived a whole new Event to make us scratch our heads, and drive us slightly insane. So it’s time to break out those donuts for their super hideouts because there’s a whole store full of superhero inspired premium items!

Naturally, as with every event, there’s returning content in our stores that you can spend your donuts on.  Some returning items were once available for donuts and some were once free prizes that have come back as premium items.  Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything because it’ll be gone soon (especially if it’s making it’s second return to our stores).  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Collider or Super Jeb to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these sequel returns to your town.

So this is more or less going to be a rundown of each item, since they’re returning and we’ve previously written info about each.  I’ll give you my quick opinion on them and then link to their older posts….

Item: Super Jeb (Statue)
Donut Price: 25 Donuts
Previous Price: Was free for Superheroes 1, it was a prize
Earns: 0.60% bonus on all cash and XP
Size: 2×2
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +10
Highlights: It’s just another Jeb Statue for Springfield.  It does come with a short questline (at least it did last year)…
Is it Worth the Donuts: Personally, I wouldn’t spend 25 donuts for it.  I earned it for free last year and I haven’t given it a second thought since.

Super Jeb Will Leave the Store for Purchase on July 12th…so make your decision quick before it’s gone again!

Character: The Collider
Donut Price: 100 Donuts
Previous Price: Free (Prize) Superheroes 1
Earns: At a premium rate, so 50% more on cash and XP
Highlights:  He does come with a questline, and you can use him in battles. (Tech)  He also has some fun tasks…
Is it Worth the Donuts: In my opinion, no.  I wouldn’t spend donuts for him…especially not 100 donuts.  His benefit for this event (battles) doesn’t really outweigh his cost.  Personally, I wouldn’t spend donuts on him…

  1. I bought the collider but the quest line didn’t come up.
    Any word on that

  2. If I didn’t earn it the 1st time
If I didn’t spend Donuts on it the 1st time
I’m not spending Donuts the 2nd time
(I’m saving Donuts for what’s worth Donuts)

  3. I know you already said coming soon, but any quick thoughts on Coolsville and Milo? I’m low on donuts and have to decide between that or the Nighthawk which is leaving today… Please and thank you.

    • I grabbed it immediately (the shop Earns trading cards) but I’ve got to sit and evaluate it from a premium perspective. Hoping to have it done tonight or first thing tomorrow morning

  4. Tappedoutaddict000

Accumulate cash for what? Your town is probably crawling with rats and in need of blood donations. Lol

  5. I do agree with the others that there should be more things to buy with in game cash. Why send characters on jobs if you cannot buy
things with them? We work very hard to accumulate the cash… for what?
Please EA have more available to be bought with green backs. Thanks.

  6. I’m really hoping they bring back Dr Colossus and Death Mountain for Act 3, because I’m starting to regret buying The Collider.

I’d like Radioactive Man too, because it feels weird just having Fallout Boy.

  7. Is super jeb unique? I can’t find him in my inventory so I wanted to ask before I started coming through my town.

    • Super unique lol.

      • Lol thanks 🙂 not sure why I don’t seem to have him….I thought I got all the prizes for the superhero event. I have the collider and I thought super jeb came before him but he’s available for purchase in my store section :/

        • I got it last year and it’s now available in my store, too. You can apparently have more than one.

          • Whew! Just checked my town and found mine. I wouldn’t have purchased one anyway but it’s nice to know that I haven’t gone totally crazy (actually, jury’s probably still out on that one 😜) Thanks Dave!

  8. I had super Jeb in storage until they added the multiplier. So I concur on that one.
The Collider has a couple of my favorite tasks. 100 donuts is steep, to be sure, but it makes me smile to watch him wander around with a happy little kitty in his arms. I also like “Yo Dawg” just for the meta humor. (Although I guess not everyone is going to have the supercollider building.) I dunno. He should cost a bit less, but I wouldn’t necessarily advise against him.

  9. I grabbed The Collider mostly because he looks cool. He’s definitely expensive, though.

  10. Made a monument area in my Metropolis with all the statues:

But if I didn’t already have Jeb, I wouldn’t buy him for donuts. And the Collider has been useful for the event, but I honestly never gave him a second thought until this event started. Wouldn’t really recommend him either.

I should have Stretch Dude later today. Very curious about how he’s going to look in action! Reminds me of the other THOH ep where Bart becomes noodle neck lol.

  11. Bonus were raised from 10,000 to 12,000 after completing Issue 2 Prizes. Tat,tap, tap….

  12. Please tell me Milo is a voiced character, I’m a big Jack Black fan

    • Anyone not voiced by one of the main six cast members is not voiced in the game.

    • That would be a first, so probably not. If that were a question, this question, it would be:
What would the first voiced character(s) not by the main cast (or Matt Groening) be? I’d have to go with the woman who does Rod (or is it Todd?). Someone who opens up a lot of characters. Celebs would probably be further down the line, in my opinion.

      • Or someone of the celeb line, I’d go with Kelsey Grammer, for Sideshow Bob. I’d love to hear his murmur when getting hit by the rakes!

    • No he’s not, sorry.

  13. I got the Collider but it says I need death mountain for his tasks. ???

  14. I’m not a big fan of returning items at a premium price for those who missed out last time due to various reasons. It’s not really fair on them, and some of the prices (ie Collider) are just rediculious! It would be nice if they offered them either a decent donut price or a high money price. The game gets to a point where we have all this money (due to playing it for many years now and or quite frequently) and really nothing to spend it on apart from land. At least when there were level updates there were things to buy that put your saving to use.

    • For purely selfish reasons, I like it when they do this if I already have the character, because the character will start paying out a premium rates. I have been playing so long I have a lot of characters (and skins) that are now considered premium that I got for free during an event.

      • It does seem like a fair reward for loyalty to long time players.

Though I always wish I got an iPad or smartphone earlier so as to have been here for the first four events in 2012 and early 2013, and not have to pay donuts for those items.

      • Derblitzkrieger

You have to go back and check too. I just realized that Ralph’s elf costume now pays at a premium rate. How long has it been doing that I wonder?

        • I first noticed it a few months ago in his task list. I hauled the toy factory out of storage so I could put him on a 24-hour task, but it looks kind of weird because I don’t have any other Christmas items out.

    • I hear you and I understand you, but considering the business aspect of this game, I think this is a fine practice. Where I agree with you is the actual donut price. It needs to be lower. For a high-priced always-been premium character/building, they lower those prices sometimes on each reoffer. Seems super not cool to go with a full-price for a character, like Collider, who is missing his building and all that. Separate items that cost way more than you’d ever spend if it was a combo (like it might be originally) is bad business. Just make them all cheaper, then the combo price is also cheaper (by just a little even) and we can buy them and the newer higher-priced offers too. We’re not made of donuts, is what I’m saying. Speaking of…where’s Donut-head Homer?

      • Yeah I understand the business side of it all but, really, I don’t think they’re going broke from this game. Just think if they offered it for donuts and or in game $$ if you were short a few donuts you could buy the donuts say $1mil for 3 donuts. Your able to buy cash for sprinkles but not the other way.
I don’t know I just feel there is a way it could be done to utilise your $$ a bit more. I’ve got approx $30mil with nothing to spend it on.

        • Have you heard of KEM farming, i.e. Donut Farming? That’s how you get the donuts that they require and how you use up that $30mil. I think Safi would be able to tell you best how to do it. If you want to get rid of the money, then you’ll want to do rat trap trucks…

          • I’m sure there are many other players better qualified to explain KEM farming than me. However, I would be happy to share my experience/strategy with it.

            • Wasn’t it you answering many people with KEM farming advice? Sorry if I misattributed that to you. Of if you’re shy about being awesome. 😉 Main thing is that you’re better at it than me. 🙂

          • I think I have seen some comments about it but not really knowing what it all entails.

    • I was not around for the Stonecutters event and was ecstatic for the chance to drop beaucoup donuts on the EA sale to get the lodge, pyramid, table and all the skins, even if it was free for more veteran players. If noobs don’t want to spring for it, no problem- don’t. I don’t grudge, if anything I might be miffed if I was a real TSTO vet and saw all the cool rarities be available to everyone again. (You still got Guinea Pig Rescue Center, Devil Donut stand, the Strupo statue and Laramie cigarette stand as well as hay wagons, Mayans and zombies etc., to make me jealous of you vets but we are gaining) 🙋🍩 You want it, spend the sprinkles- someone has to pay for all the development and tech support *cough freemioochers

    • I like it because I think it’s a fair compromise for those who have been playing a long time that respects their hard work, while still making some of these very desirable items achievable for newer players.

  15. Winning Felon fights, but told I lost as others have reported. Used to happen once in a while, but for the past 5 days, at least once every day. Thankfully, this game is just that.

  16. Collider and Death Mountain were the only two prizes I didn’t get in the last superheros event. I was hoping they would re-release them but the doughnut price is a bit too much for me. If they were a combo for say 120 doughnuts it might have swayed me but not today.

  17. I think super jeb does not come with a percentage in the past. But now due to donuts it comes with it. I stored many statues without value due to lack of space.

  18. I’m liking all of the hero statues. I have used them to make a sculpture garden behind my bookstore.

  19. I got the Collider last time and I love him. I often wonder what he’s doing in his Yo Dawg task at the supercollider…

    • I always figured he was just running the collider and doing collision experiments. As in, “Yo dawg, we heard you like colliders, so we put the Collider in your collider so the Collider can run your collider.”
