Superheroes Sequel 101: Issue 2 Crafting

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Because all Superheroes need a sequel…Superheroes 2 has found its way into our pocket sized Springfields!  This super event hit our devices…and with it arrived a whole new Event to make us scratch our heads, and drive us slightly insane.  😉

And on that insane note, let’s talk about everyone’s favorite topic….CRAFTING!

Love it or hate it, EA has proven over the last year + that crafting is here to stay.  While the prizes themselves are pretty self explanatory, collect this to earn these prizes, crafting is a whole other “animal”.  Crafting requires some self direction.  You decide what you want and collect the items to craft accordingly.  Sometimes this is successful and sometimes it’s not. And, as with all things, for some events crafting is easier than others.  Luckily for us, this event crafting is pretty simple and straight forward.  EA has really fine tuned their message for this event..

Now I know some of you still have questions about what to craft, if you should wait or craft now and what will happen in future Issues of Superheroes 2…so as we’ve done in the past, we’re here to breakdown all the crafting fun for you guys.  So let’s take a look at the complete guide to Crafting in Issue 2…

2016-06-14 16.03.54

For those looking for the how tos of crafting, I’ve broken it all down in the Issue 1 post, which you can find here.

And because there are some of you who don’t like to read…just a reminder:

-Issue 2 Craftables LEAVE When Issue 2 Ends. So craft what you want from Issue 2, because when Issue 2 is over…they’re GONE.  (Don’t say I didn’t warn you..heck even EA warns you)

Trading Cards are the ONLY Crafting Currency for the event.  So unless EA adds something else, keep collecting Trading Cards because they’ll be used for Issue 3 as well

So assuming you’ve got the basics down…let’s break down each item available for crafting during Issue 2…

Note: i’m excluding the Band-Aids here because we all know what they do by now, and I’ve advised several times not to spend your resources on them.  Just say no 😉

ico_priz_superheroes2_radioactivemanbillboard_lg

Item: Zenith City Billboard
Cost: 335indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards
Size: 1×4
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Unique: No, you can craft more than 1
What Does It Do?: It’s a decoration….a billboard. Just hangs out in Springfield.
Should I Craft?: If you have the resources you should get it, but this is low on my priority list for Issue 2 Crafting. I’d determine if you really need it in your Springfield…otherwise I’d save the trading cards for later.

ico_priz_superheroes2_giantsnakeinatree_lg

Item: Giant Snake in a Tree
Cost: 835indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards
Size: 2×3
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Unique: No, you can craft more than 1
What Does It Do?: Animated decoration, snake’s tongue extends when tapped.
Should I Craft?: Oddly enough this is one item I like for Issue 2 crafting.  It’s just a fun animated decoration.

ico_priz_superheroes2_zenithcitybuildings_lg

Item: Zenith City Condo/Penthouse/Offices
Cost: 960indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards
Size: Condo: 4×4; Office: 5×5; Penthouse: 3×3
Conform-O-Meter: Each is Indolence +10
Unique: Nope grab as many as you’d like
What Does It Do?: Buildings, they’ll earn cash and XP. ( $75, 7xp/3hrs)
Should I Craft?: I’ve never been a big fan of these, honestly.  I say if you missed them last year go ahead and craft them.  Yes these are new but not my thing as I skipped the similar ones last year. Personally….I’d save my cards.  I have several of these already and they just sit in inventory.

zenithcitytimes_menu

Item: Zenith City Times
Cost: 960indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards
Size: 4×6
Conform-O-Meter: Consumerism+10
Unique: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
What Does It Do?: Building, earns cash and XP ($150, 13xp/8hrs)
Should I Craft?: Yes.  In my opinion, if you don’t already have it, this is the best item of Issue 2.  It’s the one building I’ve kept out in my town.  It’s got a nice design to it and I live the skyscraper look in Springfield.

aquaworld02_menu

Item: Aqua World Wharf
Cost: 2,415indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards
Size: 7×7
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Unique:  Nope grab as many as you’d like
What Does It Do?: Decoration for your Ocean.  It is always animated with trashcan fires up top (and black smoke)
Should I Craft?: This is a toss up for me.  Personally I think if you’re not doing anything in with the Aqua World items save your cards for Issue 3.  Otherwise grab it.

So you’ll need 4,545indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards to get everything that Issue 2 crafting has to offer (and an additional 960indicator_superheroes2_tradingcards if you don’t already have Zenith City Times.  That’s a lot of criminals to tap!  But you’ve still got plenty of time, so don’t get discouraged and just keep Tappa Tap Tap Tappin’! 🙂

Remember…Issue 2 Crafting Items LEAVE When Issue 2 Is Over, on July 12th.  So craft everything you want BEFORE Issue 2 Ends (on July 12th) or you’ll miss out!

And that my friends is the complete rundown for Issue 2 Crafting!

What are your thoughts on Issue 2 Crafting?  Which prizes do you like the best?  Have you crafted any yet?  Thoughts on collecting trading cards?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I CANNOT BELEIVE I WASTED 2400 CARDS ON THAT ***** WHARF
what a g-d ripoff that was!!! It pays nothing and gives no bonus.
Why are you so against the cash producing buildings? They are the only things worth it. Nothing in these crafts even gives a little xp/cash bonus like with some past events.

  2. Feels like long time Tappers do not have much to Craft,
except Buildings (that generate $ and XP)
I can’t Craft and Place Decor without getting the warning from EA
(too many items — c’mon EA expand the limit already)

  3. I was so happy to get Zenith Times this time around. It was the bone craft able I missed out on last time around.

  4. I look at the buildings as a very inexpensive way to have a small ‘house farm’ now that it is not cost effective to do that anymore. Doesn’t cost game $ and, if you skip the wharf, you might be able to get six or eight groups of three. Voila – house farm a’ la Zenith City….

  5. I’m surprised that you prefer the tree over the Billboard. I’ve crafted 3 billboards already and will likely make more – they go great in childrens, superhero, cinema/theatre, tv/radio, and sports themed areas. The Snake Tree was really lame, and I regret crafting it…

    • I was a little on the fence about whether to craft the snake tree, but I finally found one in a neighbor’s town this morning and I was not impressed…think I’ll skip that and focus on crafting more of those buildings for a housing development I’m thinking of putting in.

I got one billboard so far….it’s nice enough, but I’m not sure yet where I’d put more. I might craft at least one more though, even if it ends up in storage for now.

  6. advice on trading cards, should I save them or spend them? Will I need them in act 3?

    • There will be items to craft with trading cards in Issue 3. Just make sure you get anything from Issue 2 you want because they will be leaving.

      • Somehow I feel like I’m in an episode of
        LET’S MAKE A DEAL
Should I keep what I have, or trade it for is behind the curtain, or,
Should I craft what I see, or wait for what is behind Act 3

    • Keep at least 4000 for a particular item in Act 3 (I won’t say what it is due to spoilers). I calculate you’ll need at least 6000 to get all the Act 3 items (possibly more if you don’t have the items from last year).

  7. I do not see the Zenith City Times building in my Issue 2 Craftable items? I see everything else and have crafted one of everything. How do I get the Zenith City Times building? It appears to be missing?

  8. I’m not thrilled by any of the craftables. I crafted a snake in the tree for a daily task but that’s it. I think it will go nicely for Halloween.

  9. The aqua wharf, I made 2 of that one. (They look great with the thing from episode 1 and the premium aquaworld things, I sort of made an Atoll). And I really like the Snake Tree and billboard.
What’s this about issue 3 craftable? I havent checked the spoiler website, so I ask is it something returning from previous events or a new thing?

I don’t feel like crafting the zenith city building set, even thoug it does look cool. I don’t really want to tap criminals for it (ill do it when the game auto focusses on them when I get all the prizes).

    • The criminals are back to migrating to the focal point again, I think, so just leave your screen focused on one part of your town and then come back and tap a bunch of criminals.

The issue 3 craftables include both new and returning items. I don’t want to say anything more than that here…if you want more info, you can check one of the spoiler sites, as you said. 🙂

      • sandra, fair enough on the spoilers…but can you tell us if any of the issue 3 craftables will provide income (like the Zenith City pack available now) and/or XP/$ bonuses?

Put simply, I’m trying to decide whether it’s worthwhile to hoard cards because there’s something really worthwhile coming in Issue 3, or if my best “value” is to just buy a bunch of Zenith City buildings for the (relatively paltry) income. I don’t anticipate having any problem earning enough currency to get at least one of everything in an event. Just hoping to avoid a moment where I don’t realize there’s a great value out there (e.g. the tennis courts for Springfield Heights currency I missed) or wind up wasting some resources before realizing I should be cranking out something (e.g. the wailing walls during Halloween).

If you’re uncomfortable answering because it might be spoiler-ish, I understand…would you mind providing a link in that case?
        🙂

  10. I like the Zenith buildings. Pretty much the only option I do like. I got the Times building, a billboard and 4 of the building combos. I made a Zenith block. I suppose I should grad the snake for Halloween purposes, but it just seems like such a bad deal compared the income earning buildings.

    • I like the Zenith buildings too, especially the Penthouse. It’s a cash-earning building with short cycle time and small footprint which is easy to sprinkle into town.

  11. The one issue I have with the billboards is the fact that it levitates. But with a little effort, that minor visual nuisance can be mitigated to a certain extent.

  12. I’ve said it in another thread, and I’ll repeat it here for those who might be interested:
I was able to place a Zenith City billboard in Krustyland, although it was pure luck because I got a daily challenge to “craft an item” – I tapped on “go to” while I was in Krustyland and, surprisingly, it opened the crafting menu right there… after crafting, as usual, I was asked if I wanted to place or store it, and I placed it (it may work for other craftables as well, who knows). Of course, I then stored it and wasn’t able to place it again because it does say “only in Springfield” in the inventory.

  13. I’ve crafted one of each and will save the rest of my cards for issue 3.

  14. I’ve got one of everything so far. Actually the billboard is animated as the image cycles between several different things. I may get a second set of the buildings, but I’m trying to save my cards for a certain yet to be revealed big ticket item. I’m surprised in visiting my neighbors that it seems like a lot of them aren’t crafting much of anything from this act.

  15. I’m glad the zenith city times building is back. I missed getting it during the first superhero event. I hadn’t found this site yet and didn’t know what i was doing. Kept spending my crafting resources on upgrading the superhero hq bldg. The rest of the prizes are pretty blah for me.

  16. I was anxiously awaiting this article, love the stats you post, and it’s very helpful. I was wondering if EA will do anything with the snake in the tree for Whacking Day??

  17. Thanks for the overview.

  18. It takes all kinds: I’ve crafted 6 sets of the Zenith buildings!

I gave Aqua World a miss. It’s kinda neat, but really expensive. If it generated income, I’d have gotten it.

  19. Josephine Kick@$$

I went ahead and crafted the billboard & snake in tree, just wish EA would be a little more clear on whether or not an item gets any bonus %. I actually like the triple pack of buildings even though their payout doesn’t excite me, & I’ve crafted around 4 sets. Thank you for the rundown, I usually end up crafting something extra I wouldn’t have because you’re so persuasive 😎 I think I’ll get the animated wharf, it goes with the other 2 free pieces, & I love it’s animated. I regret not getting the burning book building, it looks so cool in my neighbors towns😊 If a building has no payout, but has good animation even when not being used, I love it😍

  20. 4kidsandacatdog

Not super excited about the crafting in issue 2. I liked what was offered in issue 1 though. Think I like the new buildings (crafted 3 sets of these) for Zenith City and the billboard the best. I might craft 1 or 2 more billboards and then start stocking up for phase 3.

  21. Actually, the Zenith condo, penthouse, and office are brand new…these are not the same buildings that we got in the first superheroes event. I actually think they’re by far the best craftable, since they earn a return on your investment (beyond entertainment value). I think the penthouses might look good behind the purple buildings we got during the first superheroes event, but I haven’t tried that yet.

I’m sorry to see that none of the crafting items offer a bonus percentage…I think I’ll need to check a spoiler site to see if any craftables for Issue 3 will, and what else is on offer. I know I need to save 4,000 trading cards for Bastille day, but I already have about twice that saved up, so I might buy some more of those Zenith building sets (I’ve already bought two).

I don’t know what I’d do with the snake in the tree, and the Aqua World thing is so expensive that I might pass on that, since I didn’t buy any of the premium items and it won’t earn me anything. (I may even store the one we got as a prize, once the event is over.)

So, basically (and unusually), I have just about the opposite opinion on almost everything you said, lol! Maybe I live in Bizarro World? (Well, I do agree that the Zenith City Times building is nice, but I already have that from the original event.)

But I’m really glad you posted this article, since I was VERY interested to see if anything came with a bonus percentage before I made my final decisions!

    • I was wondering if that was correct as I have never seen these building before – but I have all the other Zenith buildings (shop, times, apartments etc) from the previous event.

  22. I bought all of them… but I play a LOT so I have plenty of cards haha 😀

  23. I really wishing crafting items would remain for the entire event. That way I can plan out what I want and get the maximum return for my crafting currency. Maybe I’d rather have an extra billboard or two (or the buildings) rather than what’s coming next. But with it done this way, I’m “stuck” with whatever is available in act 3 to use up my remaining cards.

    • I agree wholeheartedly! But I think EA is doing this very intentionally, maybe so people will end up spending donuts down the road to get things they passed on to save up cards for the next issue.

I also think it’s *possible* (although it’s pure conjecture) that they could bring back the issue 1 and 2 items on the last couple of days of the event…I have a vague feeling they did something like that before at some point, but I definitely could be wrong about that.

  24. THANK YOU, I’ve been waiting for this post.

I am puzzled why not the Zenith City Three Building-Combo, They aren’t the original Zenith Buildings which are bigger and bulkier than these (with the same pay out)

Also I think your stress from Moving has effected your brain, I think you meant to say (under WHAT DOES IT DO) they’ll EACH earn cash and XP. That fact to me makes this the best deal.

Each earn ($75, 7xp/3hr) so all three buildings total will end up ($225, 21xp/3hr) that’s more than the Z.C.Times at the same price.

In conclusion decent payout, slim buildings (easily can be hidden if you don’t like the look) and diffrent from the original buildings.

I feel like I turned Green out of anger. Totbox angry, Totbox Smash! :p

  25. I’m saving my cards in hopes for a % craftable in episode three.

  26. After all unique in Act 1 we get all non-unique here. I’ve crafted one of each, but I still have a ton of cards so I’ll be crafting some extras. I wish these would stick around so I could decide what extras to craft between these and Act 3 items, but oh well.

I actually really like the billboard. It’s animated and switches through several scenes. I also agree that the tree is really neat.

I’ll probably get several billboards, a few trees, and maybe an extra pack or two of buildings.

  27. I crafted one Snake in a Tree, the Zenith City Times and the buildings. Not planning to craft anything else.

  28. If I’m not mistaken I think the Zenith City building pack are new buildings? Last year we got different ones. I crafted 2 packs of those, 3 billboards, 2 snake trees, and I already had the Times. As I’ve said before, the water thing is a pass. Might craft another billboard, they’re just so cool!!

  29. The condo/penthouse/offices were not available last year. The apartments, lofts and store were the buildings from last year.

  30. While I like (not love) all the craftables, I’d say my favourite this time around is the Aqua Wharf. I feel it has the best potential to come back for sale in the future as a premium item, aka be assigned an XP bonus, like Super Jeb was this time around.

    • I’m like you on the notion that you craft it anyay as down the track it may come back and you with you had crafted it for free. I have heaps of craftables in my inventory that i’ll probably never use but it’s good to have just incase I change my mind. Plus after grafting for sooooo long (this events like 40 days long) I’m not wanting 10,000 cards (for example) go to waste at the end, may as well craft up!
