Superheroes Sequel Prize Guide: Issue 2, Prize 5 X-Ray Machine

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Up and Atom!  Looks like we’ve got ourselves a Super Sequel on our hands!  But remember…the Sequel isn’t always better than the original.  Superheroes 2 has found its way into our pocket sized Springfields!  This super event hit our devices and it’s full of super inspired decorations, buildings & characters!

This Event is broken up into 3 Issues, with each Issue containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Issue.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the Second Issue you’re tasked with collecting Soliant Red (ico_cur_superheroes2_soylentred_lg) to unlock each prize!

The fifth Issue 2 prize is awarded at 41,000 ico_cur_superheroes2_soylentred_lg is the X-Ray Machine, because sometimes you wanna see what people are made of 😉

So let’s take a closer look at this fifth prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…

Before we get into the X-Ray Machine, you may (or maybe not) have noticed that I did not do a post about the fourth prize.  That’s because the fourth prize (awarded at 29,500 ico_cur_superheroes2_soylentred_lg) is a Sciencewater Cooler (9 bottles).  By now I don’t think we need a detailed explanation about Sciencewater…so i figured a post wasn’t necessary.  Just remember Sciencewater heals a player during a battle. 1 water heals 2 hearts…but ONLY during a battle.

Now back to the X-Ray Machine….

Once you’ve collected 41,000 ico_cur_superheroes2_soylentred_lg you’ll automatically be awarded the X-Ray Machine and you’ll see this message popup:

2016-07-07 21.31.49

And you’ll have the option to place or store it in your Springfield immediately.  Remember if you store it you’ll have to go into your inventory later to retrieve it.

The X-Ray Machine is a decoration, so there are no tasks for it and no character interaction.  And nothing to earn you more ico_cur_superheroes2_soylentred_lg.  However, it is an animated decoration (when tapped) and a quest does popup prior to unlocking it, with some fun dialogue and a reminder to tap it.  Here’s a look at that dialogue:

X-Ray Machine
Auto start

Quimby: Dear citizens of Springfield, we have a healthcare surplus for the exact price of one X-Ray machine.  However there ah, wasn’t enough surplus for a technician…So when it arrives it’ll be free to use by all unqualified citizens.
Unlock the X-Ray Machine
Place the X-Ray Machine

Tap the X-Ray Machine
Lisa: This might not be the safest thing to have open to everybody.
Ralph: I’m scanning my insides like Halloween candy!
Lisa: Ralph! How long were you in there?

And that’s it to the X-Ray Machine.  Not much to it…but here are some quick facts about it:

Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Where Can I Place It: grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|beach
What Does it Do?: Not much, but is is animated when tapped.  Image above shows the animation.

And there you have it the details behind the X-Ray Machine.

What’s Next

ico_priz_superheroes2_plasticprison_lg Plastic Prison  Awarded at 50.350 ico_cur_superheroes2_soylentred_lg.  This will be the next prize we cover in a rundown post.

So that my friends is the full breakdown of the fifth (and fourth) Issue 2 prize!

What do you think of the X-Ray Machine? Were you quick to unlock it?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield?  Thoughts on Issue 2?   Ready for issue 3?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Trying to decide if i should spend up all my leftover event currency or hold on to it for the next act? Sometimes it rolls over and sometimes it doesn’t. Any thoughts?

  2. I have a little landfill area near the dump and stray garbage around some of my dumpsters. This will look great there next to the bowling game and that love bear.

  3. no prize is lame when placed appropriately! 😉 ok that’s not entirely true, as i’m sure i have a few thing stored away that i couldn’t be bothered to try and place. but this was never gonna be one of those items, because a curbside/outdoor baggage check was just what my airport needed. the green rays of light when you tap on it go great with the em chemistri when animated, as well as the green glow below the zenith city billboard.

    • The baggage x-ray machine idea is very clever! (Unfortunately, I don’t have an airport, but, if I ever create one, I’ll have to steal that idea!)

  4. Most appropriate place for the X-Ray machine in my town, in my opinion, is outside of the high school. Check everyone’s backpacks before they go in.

    • What a sad commentary on the state of our society today. That they’re needed at the airport is one thing, but at our schools…it’s a cryin’ shame. 🙁

    • i LOVE IT! How 21st century of you. I just have mine sitting next to the hospital like a chump, but I am gonna move it there now. Thanks for this great idea!

  5. welp now that I know there is no bonus into my inventory it goes

  6. This was the lamest prize…definitely going into storage by the end of the event, unless I think of something clever to do with it.

  7. The X-rays machine & plastic prison are lame had to get them to get the characters they went right into inventory.

  8. Makes no sense, it doesnt even go with the event, looks like something that would go with the power plant or next to the Hospital building, an item they could have easily made years ago….

    • its what gives Stretch Dude and Clobber Girl their powers so it dos belong. besides, radiation + superpowers totally go together. Just ask Peter Parker or Bruce Banner…

  9. Thanks for all your hard work guys, I want you to know I/we appreciate it.

I don’t know if it’s kosher to say here, I know we don’t usually get too heavy, but i just need to say my condolences to everyone caught in the crossfire during the events that took place in Dallas and R.I.P. to the victims.

I am not American, but I am well aware of the situation that has been taking place in the States with mounting racial tensions over the years. 2016 America is very different to 1990s America, which is the timeline I know I personally want to go back to living in, and its a real tragedy that something like this would occur at a Black Lives Matter rally but the sad truth is it feels inevitable in the world we live in.

I think this is going to have massive ramifications, not just for the US, but worldwide, in ways that we as a society cannot yet begin to comprehend.

  10. Shame the X Ray machine and glass prison didn’t have jobs . Robo snake would look cool in the prison or even the collector , oh well , act two seams kinda lame , hope act three has something better to offer for all my tapping , although , I do like the skins for Bart as streatch dude and Lisa’s clobber girl. Even if the clobber girls jobs are rubbish lol ,

  11. Since the last 3 or so prices I don’t get the mini quests associated with them. They don ‘t give much so I’m not overly worried… anyhow they don’t come up. Wondering why…

  12. The X-Ray machine and Ralph abusing it brings to my mind the following incident:
I am a radiological technician and in my training hospital I caught to doctors x-raying each other just for the “fun” of it. The radiologist was just behind me when I entered the x-Ray room went ballistic. He reported them to their superior. That superior sacked them on the spot.
Playing x-rays is completely forbidden everywhere!

  13. Got this a few days ago. Kind of a boring prize if you ask me. Just unlocked the final prize yesterday, so now it’s time to earn some bonus.

I really like this event. I have all the stuff I want from act 2 so now I am hoarding currency until act 3 hits so I can purchase all the things in the store right away.

I just wish we could trade the gems used to upgrade fighters for other things. I have a few thousand I won’t be able to use because everyone is fully upgraded.

    • I’m sure we’ll get new fighters in the next issue. They will come in handy then.

    • I had an interesting thing happen this morning. My daily task was to upgrade a fighter. The problem is that I’ve already upgraded all of my fighters to the max level. Needless to say, I deleted that task and got a different one.

I’m getting a little bored with this event. I think it’s too long. I’ve been in the bonut round for a few days now, and there’s still about 4 days left until act 3. I’m interested in seeing what act 3 brings us. I’d like to see some good prizes. Something useful. I’ve seen previews of some (if not all) of the prizes on another website, and frankly they look a little boring. It would be nice to be able to craft something that gives us %.

    • Well some of the finite gems will come in handy in Issue 3 to upgrade those characters.

I’ve still only upgraded three characters to 5 hearts and left the rest as is. As a result, I have over 28,000 finite gems. But on the last day, when I upgrade everyone, it will still leave me with thousands of extras. So I agree it would be nice if they had a secondary purpose. Though I am looking forward to get that ‘Training Day – Part 4’ questline out of my task book.

      • Why are you saving the gems? I don’t get it.

        • Well right now I’m keeping my characters at 2 hearts so I can maximizing losing. In a four hour span, I can lose twice as often as everyone else. With over 1,500 losses, I’ve managed to get an extra 80,000+ event currency, which has really helped me get 14 rounds of bonuts so far.

          • I would never have thought about doing what you did. I’m usually “full speed ahead” when I play these events.

            • Based on everyone’s comments about their progress, I strongly believe keeping everyone at 2 hearts has made me go”full speed ahead”.

          • So I tried out the “losing” method for the first time today. I feel like an idiot for not doing this before. I hadn’t read the post about playing this way, and I wish I had. Better late than never. 😀

        • Sometimes keeping a low-HP fighter can improve your efficiency in battles, costing you less damage and thus shorter healing times. I don’t do it, though, because it also suppresses the strength of your enemies, thus netting a lower bonus for beating them.

          • As long as you have one set of characters at 5 hearts, it doesn’t matter that the rest are 2 hearts. I upgraded one set (one Brawn, one Brain, and one Tech) to 5 hearts and have been facing off against teams composed of three 5 hearts since the end of the first week of the event, even though all my other characters are 2 hearts (or 3 hearts for the prizes that came as 3 hearts).

          • Not as long as you have even a few high-ish level fighters. All of the gangs I fight against have at least one, and often two, 5-heart fighters, even though I have only one 5-heart fighter myself (and up until I got Stretch Dude, who pulled down my average, I was getting the same kind of opponents without having any 5-heart fighters myself).

        • I’m not Safi, but I suspect our answers are similar. We’re both playing the “lose to win” strategy, and it’s a lot harder to lose than it is to win, when you’re trying to make sure that every character you have has lost by the end of the fight period. My three 2-heart fighters have become my most strategic players. I was sorry when I was recently forced to upgrade one character to 5 hearts, when I got stretch dude and he pulled down my average enough that I was no longer getting 5-heart opponents (which decreased my payouts a bit).

          • I feel really silly (stupid) now. I have 15 characters that can fight, and they’re all maxed out at 5 hearts. So it’s going to be really tricky for me to start losing. I just now read the post about battle strategy from a couple of weeks back. I wish I had read it when it was posted. D’oh!

            • Geez – don’t know how you’ve avoided seeding the gazillion comments on various posts about this over the past few weeks, but sorry to hear you missed this bit of brilliance on Safi’s part. I play it a little differently than he does (it’s a more simplified approach, without all of the “stages” – I just make sure that all of my fighters ultimately lose by the end of each battling period). You definitely won’t be able to do that with all maxed out fighters, but you can still try to lose as much as possible, by sending fighters to fight against the types of foes that can beat them, as much as possible, it takes a lot more strategizing to maximize losing than it does to maximize winning, so be prepared to spend a little more time on your battle periods.

The other problem with having all 5-heart fighters is that you have to wait 5 hours between battling periods (unless you spend bandaids), instead of the 4 hours that new felons are released in. But, since you can’t “de-upgrade” a fighter, all you can do now is just lose as much as you can.

          • Hey Sillyboy

You could lose a couple of extra fights by sending only 1 fighter who will lose 2 hearts each time (your brown against a purple felon, or a green against a brown etc). Or sending 2 fighters and before attacking switch – and keep switching without attacking to keep losing hearts. Or a combination of the two…

You will still have the issue of waiting 5 hours for them to heal as Sandra pointed out but you could lose a couple of extra battles each round…?

            Have fun!
            😃😃😃

      • Why will you upgrade everything on the last day?

        • 1) Because I want to complete this Training Day questline;
          2) Might as well have them all at 5 heart for the sake of completion.

          • Which last day?

The last day of the event? Or the last day before the forced update so you can keep earning extra donuts? Or will the ability to earn donuts disappear when the event is over? Or will the next mini event start as soon as this event is over? Or…

            So many questions…
            😊😊😊
