Should I Spend Donuts On Superheroes Issue 3 Returning Items?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Because all Superheroes need a sequel…Superheroes 2 has found its way into our pocket sized Springfields!  This super event hit our devices…and with it arrived a whole new Event to make us scratch our heads, and drive us slightly insane. So it’s time to break out those donuts for their super hideouts because there’s a whole store full of superhero inspired premium items!

Naturally, as with every event, there’s returning content in our stores that you can spend your donuts on.  Some returning items were once available for donuts and some were once free prizes that have come back as premium items.  Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything because it’ll be gone soon (especially if it’s making it’s second return to our stores).  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Dr. Colossus, Death Mountain or Radioactive Man’s Beach House to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these sequel returns to your town.

So this is more or less going to be a rundown of each item, since they’re returning and we’ve previously written info about each.  I’ll give you my quick opinion on them and then link to their older posts….

Is it Worth the Donuts: I own it, I enjoy it…but it is crazy expensive.  Would I spend the donuts again?  Probably not.  But if you like something cool that has nice curb appeal for your ocean side, pick it up.

Character(s): Dr. Colossus
Buildings/Decorations: Death Mountain
Donut Price: 120 Donuts for the combo*
Previous Price: Free, Superheroes 1 (prizes)

Building Earns: $200,22xp/8hrs
Highlights:  Comes with a questline and you can use Dr. Colossus in battles (brain).  Dr. C can also be used in the Boss Fight.
Is it Worth the Donuts: I like Dr. Colossus, but the combo price to me is meh.   Personally, I don’t think it’s worth the donuts if you don’t already have Dr. Colossus.  So I’d pass.  And if you already have Dr. Colossus I wouldn’t spend the donuts to get death mountain…not worth it.

  1. I finally bought it – the Collider has some jobs at Death Mountain, esp. the 4h task, so I need it 😉

  2. I LOVE the beach house!!! Anything with water makes me happy. However right now I only have 83 donuts and money is a bit tight, it’s birthday season in my family, uggggh lol. Hoping I can get a few more by the end of the event and then get lucky with a scratcher!!!

  3. I found 120 donuts for a character/building combo not bad so I picked it up. Love that fact that Scorpio has a quest line with Dr. C.

  4. If you don’t have them from Superhero 1, I think the asking price of 120 donuts for Death Mountain and Doc Colossus is pretty reasonable. The Fracker and P-Rex are a lot more expensive in comparison. Not as good a deal as Solar Citizen+Wind Lad combo or Plopper with the crap silo, but I’d say it’s better than the other premium offerings so far.

  5. I’m so glad I got all this stuff on the last Event. It makes this Event so much better. I now have a mini theme city in Springfield, combining all the stuff from the last two events. Pretty neat. 🙂

  6. I like the beach house but I’d rather spend my donuts on characters.

I already had Dr. C and death mountain from last time.

  7. beach house is my favorite residential building in the game (though my favorite design job i’ve done on a residential property is for the ziff mansion). would easily spend 120 donuts on it again.

  8. Any thoughts on left over upgrade gems? I now have 8,300 and all my fighters are maxed out. Any EA plan to make use of them?

  9. I found an exploit in the game.
If you send your villians on the attack Pinchy quest via the factory.
You can send your heroes via their task bar 5 minutes later on the attack pinchy task.
If you time it right you can finish a quest of villian and heroes in about 4 hours and 5 minutes.

    • ugh that doesnt work for me! Anyone else able to get that to work?

      • Yes, it worked for myself and many other people. There’s been probably a dozen or so mentions of the technique in comments on various posts since yesterday morning.

      • try to be sure to leave enough of a time buffer…if it’s too close together & the time is up for everyone at the same time will not give the credit. You have to unlock the 2nd task 1st. Just tryin to help clarify.

      • You have to select the attack pinchy task from each characters task list.

    • It does not work for the villains because their task changes. I tried it this morning, but the new task was start a fire, so the ones that just attacked Pinchy were not given credit. It might work with the heroes because they always just attack Pinch sd their task.

I missed the Super heroes and monorail events last year after my game data disappeared on my devices. Spent a lot on donuts catching up on this event. I know it will cost me but I’m really hoping EA brings the monorail back. I bought the north pole station without knowing you couldn’t craft more track with that one.

  11. I love Radioactive Man’s Beach House. Outside of all the iconic Springfield buildings that make regular appearances in the show (Lard Lad Donuts, Aztec Theatre, etc…) it is my favorite building in the game, by far. Really cool look to it and I love when RAM is on his task there catching rays on the roof! And at the risk of tooting my own horn and ringing my own bell, I really like the way I set it up in my town! Happy tapping!

  12. I got all of these the first time and I love them!

  13. Glad to hear so many of you are crafting monorail track as well. I don’t think I have missed the five donuts once since the event ended!

    • Same here on the donuts thing. I have not re-routed my monorail since the event ended but it will be fun when I do. I just added the Mountain Lodge to my wilderness area and with the waterfalls and geyser, I really like it. When I go back and look at an area that I really appreciate (over and over and over again for weeks, if not months) then that really confirms why I don`t have a life. We were warned… “Life Ruining Fun”…

  14. So glad I was around for Superheroes 1, because I probably would have passed on Dr. Colossus for 120 donuts too. Definitely passing on the Beach House again. Rather spend my precious donuts on characters.

  15. I thought Death Mountain looked cool in my neighbors Springfields, so I had to have it. I got the Collider early on so I had two quests to use the mountain. At first the quests wouldn’t trigger, but I received an update yesterday the restored the quests. Thank you EA! I’m glad I purchased it. Dr. Colossus gave me eight villains total so I could do the boss battle and not take too many workers away from monorail crafting. It blends in nicely with the large rock formations from Wild West Springfield.
