Should I Spend Donuts On Milhouse’s Trailer?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Because all Superheroes need a sequel…Superheroes 2 has found its way into our pocket sized Springfields!  This super event hit our devices…and with it arrived a whole new Event to make us scratch our heads, and drive us slightly insane. So it’s time to break out those donuts for their super hideouts because there’s a whole store full of superhero inspired premium items!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Milhouse’s Trailer to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this sulk wagon to your Springfield!

Tapped_Out_Milhouse's_Trailer

Building/Decoration: Milhouse’s Trailer
Donut Price: 40 Donuts
Bonus%: Earns 2% bonus on all cash and XP
Size: 3×5
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +200

Leaves stores when the Event ends, July 26th

Pros:
-Earns the normal bouns % for donuts spent
-Milhouse will have a permanent 12hr task there, Sulk About Fame which earns $600, 150xp/12hrs
-Animated when tapped, the door opens.

Cons:
-No benefit for the event
-Just a decoration, no questline
-No animation when in use

Final Thought:
Premium:
It’s not a bad buy.  It’s on par with other 40 donut items in Springfield and it’s something different.  Plus it comes with a 12hr task for Milhouse, which is WAY more than most decorations do.  So if you’re a premium player I’d say grab this one…

Freemium:
Again, it’s not a bad buy.  This is one I would put on my list to consider getting before the event ends.  The bonus will help out and then fact that it comes with a task for Milhouse immediately makes it better than the Police Car or Jet Engine Bike…duel purpose.  So if you have the donuts lying around and want to pick something up from the event, this is one item I would say is a “good buy”.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you I’ll probably be picking this one up.  Of course whatever you decide just remember this item is limited time and will be leaving our games once the event ends.  So if you’re thinking about grabbing this one, do so before it leaves our games on the 26th!

What are your thoughts on Milhouse’s Trailer?  Have you picked it up?  Will you be?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I’m surprised the trailer doesn’t come with the fallout boy outfit. When Gil pitched the deal he said something to the effect of “Don’t have Milhouses superhero outfit? I can help you with that too.” Never saw the outfit this entire event. Only superhero I’m missing too.

  2. Still I the fence with this one… It’s not a bad deco and 2% is nice (although not amazing…not sure how much of a change I’ll notice between 265 and 267 (or whatever my actual number is/would be). The 12-hour premium task would normally make it a definitely, if I didn’t already have a 12-hour premium task for Milhouse via his Sidekick Milhouse skin.

    Decisions, decisions…

  3. Someone stole my burrito™

Funny how we all have our different tastes for what we like. I had donuts set aside for two things I wanted from this event. The Scout Master and this trailer. I dunno why, I just thought it would look good sitting in the desert with a clothes line and a cactus. 🙂 Love it.

    • Great minds think alike ;). I also needed to get the trailer to set up a ‘low rent’ home – it works nicely with the clothes line, a lawn chair, zenith city bin, and a scraggly tree. I set mine up on a dirt patch beside the little grow-op (if you squint at the cane fields they work ok) in my seedy part of town. <3

  4. I try and concentrate my donuts on characters or building/character combos but this was an instant buy.

  5. Seriously considering this one, even though I’m not sure where I’ll put it. But I’ll probably wait until at least the weekend to pull the trigger.

  6. I’ve been waiting for this post,,, so thank you! I’ve also noticed that it seems lately the store hasn’t been including the % rate that items earn. Makes a delay in purchase…for me,,anyways. I think I’ll go ahead & pick this up later today,,,,,now that I know the payout. You guys always save the day!! Come to think of it you’re the real-life superheroes of this silly lil game🏆

  7. I don’t know if you can use your “powers” to affect change but here is my gripe. EA started listing things without the bonus or what they do. They just list the episode it’s from. That’s fine and dandy but I want to know what it does before I purchase it. This trailer is another example of this annoying trend. I’ve seen it with a lot of the events lately so I have to constantly wait to see your should I buy post to see what it does. Easy fix EA seriously… You used to do it consistently…

  8. Ciara, you didn’t miss the train….its just a much slower train now. My white house farm generates nearly 2mil a day and I started after the exponential house price policy was put into effect. (gosh, if I’d started before that change, I’d own all of springfield by now 🙂

Mark, there’s a good post on here about it but basically sell all but one of your KEMs, then build a chunk and sell that chunk every four hours. Repeat. Each built KEM gives you 2000 XP and if you are running the XP Collider it is easy to generate 40-50 donuts a day depending on your cashflow from houses and such.

Just for example, with my cashflow (about 2mil per day) I make 56 KEMs at a time every four hours, and I do the same with 20 krustyburgers every 12 hours. I haven’t kept good records on donut payout but every time I harvest the KEMs i make 9 or 12 donuts, and when I do the krustyburgers I get an additional 3 or 6. I built a pen out of unsellable items to hold the buildings so that selecting, selling and replenishing them is almost an automatic thing. Hth

    • I’ve been reading this KEM stuff and are now jumping on the bandwagon. My question is with the XP collider its like 25 sprinkles for 10 days worth, of the amount you can farm and collect (donuts) if you did it close to every 4 hours (lets say you can manage 3 in a day) of the 10 days you’ve purchased how many days are you farming to cover the XP Collider cost? I have about 140 KEM farming at this current time.

    • You said you generate nearly 2mill a day house farming, how many white houses do you have? I have around 20 and the payout is terrible lol

      • sorry for the delay…took a trip with the family and just getting back.

Tex, for me the 25 sprinkles represents half a day of work every 10 days, so a 5% tax….not too bad

Joz, my white house farm is currently 42×14 houses. Honestly i’m torn between white houses for long-term growth and glup n blows to fund my KEM farming… The white houses and their 12 hour payoff time means that sometimes I only can harvest them once a day, but the gulp’nblows are every four hours, half the payoff, and i think a little less than twice the size. But the four hour period of the gulp n blows matches the time it takes to build a new KEM so i’m trying to get to where the gulps pay for my KEM farming, while the white houses buy my krusty burgers and any new land or bloodmobiles I want to buy.

As for the payoffs, keep in mind i’ve been plowing all of my donuts into mystery boxes so I can get my % boost up through all those news vans and itchy and scratchy boards. I’m closing in on a 500% bonus (at which point i’m going to concentrate on all those characters i’m missing). Hth,

        Scott

Mark, i’ll see if I can find the original post I saw on KEM farming….one of the regulars posted a huge and detailed post on it a few months ago that spelled it out. It was tough for me to make the switch because I formerly had farmed (wait for it…..) KEMs! It was a hard day I had to sell 800 of them and start over, but the donuts quickly showed me the it was the right way to go 🙂

    • Scott, any chance of getting a link on how the KEM works? I tried doing a search but failed…
      Thanks!
      Mark

      • oops, check safi’s post below…i think he’s pointing to the one I learned this from.

Oh, and on rat traps vs bloodmobiles….i’m just doing bloodmobiles because i obsessively donate blood in real life (somebody else’s blood saved my son when he was born, so it only seems right to pay it forward), plus I read that once you’ve bought and sold some number (100?) of bloodmobiles you get some banner in the game…. must have that now that I know it exists 🙂

  9. what is KEM trick ?

    • Kwik E Mart (KEM). This is a method whereby you farm KEM’s for donuts with the XP Collider turned on. I use this method 100% of the time. I never buy donuts anymore. You need to have a high XP % “multiplier” for best results.

    • justinmwat151

you build and sell a bunch of Kwick E Marts to gain lots of xp to level up faster

      • Is the KEM method better than buy and seeking bloodmobiles?

        • Wow auto correct messed up that reply. Buying and selling bloodmobiles.

        • Yes, it has a better yield, but it’s slower, more work, and requires more spare land. (BTW, rat tap trucks have the same yield as bloodmobiles, but I prefer to farm those, because they’re more expensive (thus faster) and smaller. I haven’t done the I KEM farming, because I don’t want to tie up an area in my town to do that long them (and it would require quite a lot of them to make it worth it for me, time-wise, and given my town’s current income and the frequency with which I’m able to play (as someone who works full time and also need 8-9 hours of sleep (and some wind-down time between playing and sleeping)).

    • There are two great ways to earn XP: Bloodmobile/Rat Trap Delivery Truck farming (Quickly) and Kwik-e-Mart farming (Efficiently).
Both methods obviously will work better the higher your XP bonus is, and work best with the XP Collider turned on as you get 5 times more XP when the XP Collider is active.

      Bldmb/RTDT:
Well when it comes to filling up the XP bar quickly, farming Bloodmobiles or Rat Trap Delivery Trucks has been used for a couple years. Wookiee wrote a wonderful post on the subject over two years ago:
      https://tstoaddicts.com/2014/05/27/farming-for-free-donuts/
This method requires a pretty decent in-game cash fund that you can blow through to purchase and sell as many Bloodmobiles or Rat Trap Trucks in a short period of time.
Each Bloodmobile cost $132,000 and earns 13,200 XP baseline (not including your XP multiplier or the 5x for activating your XP Collider). Likewise, each Rat Trap Delivery Truck costs $150,000 and earns 15,000 XP baseline (not including your XP multiplier or the 5x for activating your XP Collider).

The pros of this method include:
      – You only spend 5 donuts to activate your collider for one day
      – You only need to spend a short concentrated amount of time to farm XP (don’t have to be a regular tapper)
      – You don’t need too much land to farm
      – You earn a lot of donuts in one day

The cons of this method include:
      – You need a large amount of in-game cash in order to maximize your donuts
      – You deplete yourself of your in-game cash

      KEM:
You may have noticed a lot of comments recently regarding the term “KEM (Kwik-e-Mart) farming”. Most noticeably brought up by Tapebelt and then discussed heavily by the 6 S’s (Sillyboy, Sparkinsac, SwissWavey, Sandrashill, Simp7fan, and myself Safi), MAB the Great, and Josephine Kick@$$ from June 10th to June 15th on another post by Wookiee: https://tstoaddicts.com/2016/06/10/tsto-anonymous-jonesing-for-the-next-event/

The pros of this method include:
      – You don’t need a large amount of in-game cash in order to use this method
      – Arguably the biggest benefit is that you don’t deplete your in-game cash
      – You earn more XP per in-game cash invested than farming with Bloodmobiles or Rat Trap Delivery Trucks
      – You continue to earn free donuts on a daily basis

The cons of this method include:
      – You need to invest a lot more time as this is a long-term strategy (works best with addict tappers who check in multiple times each day)
      – You continuously spend 25 donuts to keep your collider on for stretches of ten days
      – You need some land to farm your Kwik-e-Marts

Now everyone generally has one Kwik-e-Mart in their Springfield, which brought Apu into their game when purchased for $220 during the tutorial levels. This original KEM can no longer be sold.
Subsequent KEM have dynamic pricing – in that the price increases for each additional KEM you purchase from $220 for the 2nd to $12,400 for the 25th KEM; and than remains constant at $14,400 for every KEM beyond the 25th.
The resale value of KEM is the same as all other items, 25% of the purchase price. So if you spend $100,000 on KEM farming, you’ll get $25,000 when you sell them all back.
After completing it’s build in 4 hours, each KEM generates 2,000 XP (not including your XP multiplier or the 5x for activating your XP Collider). This ratio of in-game cash to XP is far superior to the 10:1 ratio of Bloodmobiles ($132,000 for 13,200 XP) and Rat Trap Delivery Trucks ($150,000 for 15,000 XP).
With your XP Collider activated, you can earn a lot of donuts depending on how many KEM you farm and what your XP bonus percentage is. The table and graph below show how many donuts you can earn based on how many KEM you farm and what your XP bonus percentage is when you are between Level 100 and 938, with an XP bar of 500,000.

As for how many KEM to ideal farm, the ideal number is equal to how many KEM you can purchase for your 4 hour income multiplied by a factor of 1.33.

I could go into more detail, but hopefully this gets you started.

      • Stupendous graphs!
The number of KEM’s one may farm at any given time is dependent on ones cash flow. The trick is to determine how many KEM’s you can farm without taking a loss in game cash. For me the number is 40. I can farm 40 KEM’s at a time and maintain my cash level throughout. My cash only drops when I need to buy more land or an item that costs game cash. The higher ones % “multiplier” the better. The more buildings, characters, and decorations (with % bonus’) one has, the more game cash generated.

I recommend maintaining a cash level in the multi-millions in case you need to buy more land, or if you need to temporarily revert to the rat trap/blood mobile trick to generate donuts quickly (in cases when a deal comes along and you’re short on donuts). Also- don’t let yourself get below 25 donuts at any given time, because you’ll need those 25 donuts to recharge the XP Collider every ten day.

Generally speaking- I earn about 300+ donuts every ten days using the KEM method. RESULTS MAY VARY! So you may need to do a little experimenting to see what works best for you.

        Thanks Safi.

        • There is no trick and experimenting several times is not necessary. Before you start KEM farming, just note your income in a four hour period. See how much money you had at the start and end of the 4 hours for your four hour income. Multiply this value by a factor of 1.33 to account for the resale value of KEM. The total product you get of your 4 hour income multiplied by 1.33 tells you exactly how many KEM you should be farming ideally.

As for maintaining millions, I try to keep under $150,000 when I’m about to reach another round of bonus in this event or when I’m about to go for my third attempt at Maggie. By keeping my in-game cash at under $150,000 when I get the choose 3 boxes for bonuts, I guarantee myself the opportunity to always get 3 donuts, because you get to try again for free if you hit “Get more” on cash, and then cancel back to the boxes and pick another box.

      • barleecreations (canid88)

Safi I would love to see you do a in-depth post on farming and how to get the most out of the XP Collider. This is just the kind of information I’ve been needing. I’ve been having a heck of a time trying to work this out for myself (math is spool not my strong suit).

        • It’s something we’re trying to keep off of the site at the moment because it’s completely changing the economy structure of the game. This could result in EA changing the XP payouts or price for Kwik-E-Marts

          • Gotcha. I completely understand. It is a good thing you are in charge and on the ball Alissa. 🙂

          • It’s a conundrum. Many of the people who frequent this site are passionate about playing the game, and being a part of the TSTO Addicts community. Some of us are torn between keeping information to ourselves, and sharing it with the community. We’ve discovered something that could benefit a lot of people. I’ve been reaping the benefits, and I want others to benefit as well. But I don’t want to screw things up by talking too loudly. I’m beginning to think that keeping my mouth shut on these matters benefits me the most, but that sounds really selfish. I would hate to discover that I missed out on a neat trick that someone has discovered, but kept to themselves. It’s happened before, and I only found out about it after the loophole was closed by EA.

            • It can be seen from both sides, selfish and unselfish.

In all honesty, my reply, while it may appear long, is quite short based on what I have. It was in fact an excerpt from a much longer post I was working on about KEM farming. However, as you can see so far (technically I mean as you can NOT see so far) no such post has appeared on this site. And I haven’t posted it on my own WordPress website. As the Addicts can attest, I haven’t even sent it to them.

My reply to Sharksman above, I started replying by copying and pasting and editing and condensing from my post on KEM farming at the time when no replies to him were posted. However, as soon as I hit submit post, I noticed in the mean time you (Sillyboy) and Justinmwat had replied. Alissa can confirm I immediately emailed her asking her to delete my reply, as it was unnecessary when you both had replied. Unfortunately I should have emailed Wookiee, because he approved the comment, lol. And Alissa didn’t see my email until after midnight.

Here is my position on selfish/unselfish and what we should do.

              Selfish:
              – by not posting, we’re (I’m) keeping those who don’t read all the comments out of the loop
              – by not posting, we’re (I’m) hoping we (I) can take advantage of this for as long as possible

              Unselfish:
              – by not posting, I’m not robbing others who are currently using the technique of losing it by EA noticing it becoming a widespread epidemic rather than a small localized endemic
              – while not posting, we’re (I’m) answering questions about it when they are asked

What we (the regulars on this site) should do:
I personally feel going forward us “regulars” (like those who I mention in the post I was writing along with other regular commenters on this site) should refrain from discussing KEM farming in our comments. We all know about it and are doing quite well with it based on what we’re writing in the comments. However, if someone brings it up in the comments and asks about it, we should definitely answer someone’s questions about it. However, if you already see someone has answered, no reason for more people to say the same thing in different ways. While this may seem selfish, I think we should focus on each other and not forget that by not discussing it too much, we’re helping each other, arguably those most passionate about the game, benefit from the technique as long as possible.

So in conclusion, don’t think you are one selfish individual; but rather just think you are part of a larger selfish group. 🙂

        • OK, not sure why my tablet added the word “spool” to what I wrote.

        • Like Alissa mentioned, the more we talk about it and especially if anyone/any site makes a post about it, the more likely EA is to amend the payout and ruin this great technique for us.

Wookiee made a post about Bloodmobiles, because EA wanted us to farm Bloodmobiles. They even have a popup box about farming when you place 200 bloodmobiles in your Springfield at once.

The reason I posted such a detailed comment response was to hopefully answer everyones question in one place and squash the comments from continuing or proliferating. I’m still at level 641. I definitely don’t want to see a post about the technique until I’ve at least reached level 939 and even then had a chance to farm a couple extra hundreds of donuts.

      • Do you think it would be worth KEM farming without turning on the multiplier? Obviously you wouldn’t make back all of the in-game cash, but you’d still get more XP then you would just from normal game play.

        • Not worth it without the XP Collider turned on.

        • As long as you’re farming the ideal number of KEM (your four hour income times 1.33), you will gain XP (albeit 5 times less XP) and not lose any money. It will take 5 times more KEM per bonut. But yes, you will still benefit without the XP collider on.

          • Just did a count and the 200 KEM that i’m farming is costing me 2mil at a time. Just bought the 10day xp colider and only have 10mil left, didn’t really do my math well there.

      • wow thanks for this, I really appreciate the imformation

      • I had a look at this farming idea and yeah its great but I do kinda agree with Alissa that EA may decide to up the price or the drop the XP for the KEM if we keep banging on about it. I found it a little amusing how this feed got changed from “Should I spend donuts on Milhouses Trailer” to just talking about farming. Alissa I think you should change this feeds name lol.

A little side not though. Is everyone else having the issue with when placing multiple objects that it does not place them one after the other (like it used to) but all over the place?

And to make this response relevant to this feed’s original purpose, I did but the Caravan and think it’s great. I wouldn’t normally spend that many donuts on something like that but I wanted something a little different for my town.

        • For KEM auto placement you have to place them facing right (the default), and start in the middle of the screen – if you get the placement just right the screen then scrolls to the right place for the next one. It’s impossible to do this if you try to place them facing left instead.

          • yikes….i’ll shut up about the farming now that i’ve read on.

but for the placement thread above, I got sick of things not laying out how I wanted every time so I ended up using something that you can not sell as a guide and to mark the borders of where I want the objects to go.
That way when I want to sell the crop thats ready to harvest and plant a new crop, those guiding objects remain. Since I have a surplus of itchy and scratchy boards in my town, I chose them to be my row markers 🙂

      • I first read and learnt about it on the “jonesing for the next event” article too!

  10. I got it. The bonus is right on with the cost and I needed something to help fill out the area around the movie studio.

  11. Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but Wolfcastle’s 6s task at the movie set has been changed to a 30m task.

  12. I snagged this right away. I was just lamenting yesterday how I wished there were a trailer to round out my RM movie set. The % boost and 12-hour task are just a bonus.

  13. This is an immediate buy for me. All pros and no cons. The percentage is handy for helping me to earn donuts

  14. I bought the trailer. It’s a nice addition, and better than yet another jet engine bike (for %)

On a side note…..I’m in the bonut round. Woo hoo!

  15. Ooooh! At first glance I had dismissed buying this item as just another decoration. But now that I know it has a 2% and a permanent task I’m now thinking I’ll grab it. This will help me boost my XP so I can use the XP Collider more efficiently.

  16. I was curious what the bonus % on this one was. Makes it more tempting for sure. My bonus % is pretty high right now, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be higher! 😉

  17. I had heard it was coming and I bought it as soon as it hit the store. It’s unique and since I had been re-watching old Simpsons Episodes it was a must have. I didn’t know there was a task for Milhouse! Now I’m really glad I purchased it. I just wish EA would’ve offered the Sidekick Milhouse skin w/o the movie set. The trailer should fit nicely near the movie studios or movie sets. The bonus wasn’t even an issue. It was just a unique item I had to have and am pleased with my purchase.

  18. While many items fit the 20 donuts to 1% bonus, most do not; and only a few are better (the Jet Engine Bike the only permanent one). So I consider 20-1 good, anything better than that really good, anything worse not so good.

With that in mind, I picked this up right away. Good bonus, fairly small so it can be used in many places, and the fact that Milhouse has a task there is just a bonus on the bonus! 😀

  19. It meets my 20:1 ratio cutoff. I’ll get it soon before it leaves. Just got my 5th set of bonuts this Issue; so with 15 bonus donuts so far. this Issue has almost paid off half of it.

I’ve slowly been increasing my bonus percentage. Since I started KEM farming and earning donuts, I’ve started buying some Jet Engines. I’m up from 150% to 180%.

    • With jet engines ehh? I’ve been increasing my bonus percentage through the mystery boxes…up until recently the payoff I was getting was approximately 8 donuts to a percent boost (after considering the 30 and 10 donut prizes…)

If anybody else is doing this, have you noticed a change in the payouts these last couple of weeks? I’ve only just started keeping data on the recent payoffs, but my intuition is that they’ve changed the algorithm recently…it seems the donut prizes have dropped in frequency. Anybody have any data on this one way or the other?

      • I bought 36 donuts-worth of mystery boxes this morning and won the tire fire, the channel 6 news van and 30 donuts. 110 donuts-worth of stuff for 36 donuts, so not a bad payout ratio!

  20. I’m surprised you recommend this one Alissa! For me this was an easy pass, pretty plain deco plus we kiiiind of got something similar with the X Ray truck that has the Milhouse dummy underneath, which was free and imo looks WAY cooler 🙂

    • 40 donuts, 2% bonus I’ll recommend it every time. Plus it comes with a task, which is more than the Police Car & Jet Engine Bike do.

      • Ya the bonus *is* pretty good. I’m just one of those players who really doesn’t care about the bonus % (unless it’s ‘free’ items like the courts or wailing walls).

I’m at 200% now which is small compared to a lot of people but I really don’t use money for anything anymore besides buying land. (And yes I’m aware of the KEM trick but honestly I just don’t have the time or patience for that lol).

        • You should !

I’m earning at least 40 free bonuts a day just from house farming. Every item I’m buying will only speed up my bonus percentage and allow me to earn even more bonuts faster 😉

          • I missed the house farm train unfortunately. I didn’t get in before they started exponentially increasing the cost of each subsequent house.

          • I consider myself very lucky to get 2-3 Bonuts a day! what is this “house framing” that you are getting 40 bonuts a day for I need to know this secret!
            Help a brother out please!

        • Yep, not exactly swayed by the bonus percentage. I’d love it if it the “final thought” included a bonus “thought” and a non-bonus “thought”. If it was just 40 donuts for this small deco, would it be worth it at all? I guess it would fall under “buy it if you like it”….
