Addicts Open Thread

Don’t forget to vote in this week’s Addicts Bracket Challenge!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So…here is your Open Thread…Superheroes 2 is wrapping up this week.  Have you completed all of the prizes?  Thoughts on the Pinchy Boss Fight that was added?  Did it help you finish out the prize track?

Safi’s released week 7 of the Addicts Bracket Challenge this week, to find the most desired character for TSTO.  What are your thoughts on the challenge?  Have you voted yet?  Which week 6 match up is your favorite?  Remember…this is JUST for fun.  It’s not endorsed by EA, it’s just something fun we’re doing.  🙂

How was your weekend?  Do anything fun and exciting?  Here, we’re finally moved in..and almost all of the boxes are unpacked.  So now it’s just those finishing touches.  But the biggest news…we finally have our internet back!  No more trying to answer comments or write posts on my phone lol.

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of!  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. Help
    Alissa
    Something isn’t working
    😃 🇬🇧

  2. Pinpals event?
    Apu looks lonely 😉

  3. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like a kid again whom after months of being grounded finally got his train set back again…
    Toot-toot!

  4. I wonder if anyone is having withdrawals now that the Superhero event is over. Apparently people are easily addicted to female superheros and it’s hard to stop once you get started (something like that) :p

  5. Can somebody (Sandra) please remind me,………
    Is it better to …

    1) hand in railyard projects as soon as you can?

    or

    2) wait till your recycling centres are full with all resources before going to the railyard?

Does option 2 seem to offer a better choice of blueprint/prizes ?
or am I over thinking it,
I know that in theory (and algorithms) there shouldn’t be a difference, but how do regular railyard players prefer to do it?
If there IS a difference, the answer may be useful to newer players who weren’t here during the original event, (maybe the same players who won’t still be reading this on a Friday)

Also, thanks to neighbours for sticking with me, …. haven’t had time to play lately but I did visit most of you today, but had real problems doing it, got kicked out of EVERY Springfield I visited, and could only do it by my preferred method of visiting your Krustyland, so remember to clear handshakes there 🎠🎡🎢🎪👋

    • hello neighbour, welcome back, 😀 I cleared your handshakes in my Krustyland, 🐱🎡🎠

    • At the end of the week, I overstock my recycling centers to get a head start on the next week’s tasks. Once the new week starts, though, I don’t necessarily hold off until a center is full, although I do initially avoid the left-most box, even if I have to wait another round to have enough currency to go for the center of the right.

For the rail yard tasks, although I’ll sometimes do some turns with the right-most box at the beginning, I usually end up sticking to the middle one for most of the week, unless I need to use a different one to draw my total just under the max for a particular center. (So, for example, if I have 115 plastics and there’s a left-hand task that costs 20 plastics, I’ll use that to allow myself to earn more plastic.

Once I get closer to the end (like in the 60,000s, in a normal 70,000 week), I’ll start to be more careful to not let my centers go over the max allowed, because, when I’m done, I want to be able to top them up to the max again in preparation for the next week. I also don’t want to waste too many blueprints, so I’ll try to make my last trade get me to 70,000, without going too far over. (The left-hand box can be good for that.)

Back during the Wild West event, which used a similar-looking scheme, it was obvious that, for that event, using the right-most box was almost always best. I decided to see if that applied to the rail yard tasks and doesn’t at least one week, maybe two, saving up recyclables so that I could focus on just using the right box for that, too. I found that that was less effective….that I had done better when I focused on the middle box mostly (unless I was long on a material that some other box was calling for).

      Does that help?

    • You sure seem to be getting around the site Lee, I like this trend 🙂

I think your over thinking it 🙂

Hopefully the August 16th thing will fix your visiting problems.

  6. I’ve been saving my hoard of donuts for any deals that might come along but I broke down and bought Jesse Grass. I love his 1hr task (Protest eating animals). I’ve seen it in friend’s towns and I had to have it. He’ll probably be constantly protesting in my town. 100 donuts is a little high, but I think that one animated task is worth it!

    • Besides his animations, I like having him for two reasons: 1) Hee really helps with the rail yard tasks, and 2) Lisa really wanted him there. 😉
