Where Did THAT Come From – Pinchy & Dead Lobster

Faster than an event speeding donut spender! More powerful than a local Addict! Able to leap long comment threads in a single bound! Look! Up in the TSTO-niverse! It’s a building! It’s a decoration! It’s Superheroes 2016!

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

So unless you’ve been locked away in Lucite, you probably know the 2016 TSTO Superheroes Sequel is near it’s end. Just like the first event, it all ends with an epic boss fight. This event has had lots of new stuff and that means I have had one heck of a job letting you know where all the new “super” things come from. Alas, just like any good run of your favorite funny book, all things come to an end and this origin post aims to cover the origins of the boss fight. For this last issue, we’ll be looking at Pinchy and Dead Lobster. So first off, I know there are some nay sayers who don’t think that the crobster from the boss fight counts as an appearance by Mr. Pinchy. I think the dialogue of the event made it pretty clear this counts.

TSTO Dialogue Pinchy

Yes Pinchy is a clone and according to Dr. Crab, a crab/lobster hybrid he created to fight the superheroes and villains of the TSTOniverse. My opinion is this is probably the closest we will ever come to an appearance by Mr. Pinchy and I have to say I LOVE him appearing this way and hope after this event I can keep him hovering out of my Soilent Red factory.

2016 TSTO Superheroes Sequl Mr. Pinchy Boss Fight

I imagine some people wanting this to be unique and I guess Dolly the sheep was a unique being too so I can understand the point of view. Maybe Pinchy is more related to this image I saved from the Futurama game.

Lobster-like Zoidberg

Regardless of whether this is a Pinchy appearance or Zoidberg in disguise, I figured it might be fun/necessary to explain just who the heck I’m even discussing. To do this, we head off to “Lisa Gets an ‘A’” (S10:E7) to find this popular lobster (I pretend he like rock ‘n’ roll and am humming the B-52s as I write this lol). After church, our favorite family is off for their traditional Sunday brunch at Eatie Gourmet’s A Place for Groceries.

Eatie Gourmet's A Place for Groceries Store Simpsons

Basically, the family eats all the free samples of food and doesn’t pay for anything. It makes me think of poorer days as a child and lunchtime trips to Price Club (think Costco or Sam’s Club). “If it has a toothpick in it, it’s free.” There’s even samples of oven-roasted cud for Lisa to eat. At the store, Homer becomes enamored with a lobster tank. Alas, their strong crustacean shells and thoraxes keep Homer from being able to toothpick them for a free taste.

8 dollars a pound. “How many pounds in a gallon?” Homer can’t afford an expensive lobster so he opts for the runt of the pod. Homer takes his new friend home. His plan is to turn his 8 dollar lobster into an eighty dollar lobster by feeding it at home. I’m guessing you can figure out what Homer named his one pound lobster. He feeds Pinchy eggs and bacon. Together they weigh 300 pounds. Homer might need to work on his arithmetic though and change his driver’s license to not show his high school weight of 140.

Pinchy & Homer Simpsons

Pincy obviously doesn’t weigh 160 but he does grow fast. Homer upgrades him to being a free range lobster to maximize his potential. The problem is that when Marge is ready to cook up Homer’s plump and juicy friend, Homer seems to have become too attached to Pinchy to eat him. Marge sees the lobster fo what it actually is… scary looking but probably still delicious.

Mr. Pinchy Simpsons

Homer feels like Mr. Pinchy is part of the family now. He gets risotto while the rest get steamed Maine cabbages. Homer and Marge even take Pinchy out for a day at the beach. It’s there they discover that all of Homer’s coddling had made Pinchy a sissy. The Sea Captain offers the services of his “small academy for lobsters (where they) stress tough love like chores and the like.” Marge refuses to send Pinchy to a fancy boarding school though.

Mr. Pinchy Simpsons 2

Education might have done Pinchy some good but we’ll never knows since we later get a shot of the muddy claw prints Pinchy has been leaving on Marge’s clean floors. That’s right, before Plopper’s pig prints on the ceiling, there once was a lobster named Pinchy. He got dirty in the yard playing with birds so Homer gave him a nice hot bath. Cue delicious smells and the realization that Homer accidentally cooked his beloved pet. Homer crying and eating Pinchy may be in my Top 10 favorite Simpsons moments.

And that’s Pinchy. TSTO brought us a clone of him and in one of those history repeats itself moments, we cooked him in order to defeat him. But what do you do with thousands of pounds of lobster meat? It has to be served somewhere so EA brought us a restaurant for this. We head to “E. Pluribus Wiggum” (S19:E10) to find it. Dead Lobster comes our way right at the beginning of this episode. It’s quick blip seen when Homer visits Fast Food Boulevard on his way home from work. It’s nestled between Dr. Chang’s Taco Italiano and We Have Restrooms. Marge reminded Homer that he promised to start his new diet and that Bart got a call from NASA stating Homer’s gravity is pulling satellites out of their orbit lol. Definitely a joke from Bart but Marge knows it comes from a true place. Homer visits the boulevard to eat say goodbye to all the crap he loves to eat. He’ll miss Captain Corn Dog’s Schnitzel Palace the most.

Dead Lobster Restaurant Simpsons

Homer visits tons of places and I’m guessing he went to Dead Lobster too since he added one to his pizza with French fries.

I’m happy this is in TSTO now even if I know that the restaurant was most likely destroyed in the show when Homer overloaded a Krusty Burger trash can with a combination of trash, a car battery, and a lit match that sparked a Jerk-Ass Homer Cigar ignited the boulevard’s gas main. “37 restaurants rated awful to mediocre” all gone. Rest in Peace Fast Food Boulevard.

So there you go friends… Mr. Pinchy and our new lobster restaurant that parodies a semi-fancy restaurant in real life. What did you think of the two items? Do you agree that this counts as Pinchy being added to our games? Do you also want Safi to take Pinchy out of the bracket challenge (semi-kidding buddy)? Earn the restaurant yet? Do you like lobster? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments. I’m gonna go relax now that all my origin duties are done for now. Happy super crabby tapping!

  1. I didn’t even get to play this part. If I had known that focusing solely on winning prizes + bonuts would mean that the finale and several other tasks (like Fallout Boy’s quest) would be removed before I even got to reach them. I had them on 24 hour jobs and for nothing. Why make such long questlines when you KNOW most of us are going to be busy with all the characters earning event currency?

Such a badly planned event. It has actually soured me on the game and now I’m playing less. I don’t even care whats going on with this monorail thing.

  2. Am I the only person who wishes Pinchy’s first name is Thomas?

  3. Okay this post is mildly OT, but…

I broke into loud laughter at the comment about Price Club. I remember going to that place when I was younger and having lunch, a decent snack and desert. The samples at the local CostCo just make you angrier that the parking lot is helllish. C’mon! Just two or three kernels to sample Kettle Pop Corn?! I 1×2 centimetre square to sample fluffy Belgian waffles?!!
What happened to getting 1/2 a bagel with herb & garlic cream cheese?! Or a FULL ice cream sandwich? And muffins? Not the portion that resembled the hopeless crumbs you’d give to your baby sister when Mom told you share, but at least a 1/4 of a muffin that was almost size of your head! ARRRRLLLLLGGHHH!!!!

I think this event has put subliminal messages in my brain 😂😂 Since it started, we’ve been to Papadeux’s, the Angry Crab Shack, & I’m fixing lobster tails for dinner tonight!!! I live in Arizona, not exactly the seafood capital of the world 😜

  5. How long does it take till the event gets updated? I can buy Dr crab for 70 donuts. if I wait another 4 hours i maybe get enough to lower it to 60-55 donuts but then i risk that the game gets updated and i wont be able to buy him anymore

    • Update will likely hit between 12-2pm ET. But, as long as you turn off auto updates, you can keep playing until you’re forced to update. The forced update usually happens 24-48hrs after it hits the app store.

  6. I admire the work you put into these posts Wookster! The time to crop the screenshotted image and compile them into those Addicts frames and then write out these posts is inspiring! The funniest part, by far, has to be rewatching so many episodes, I guess?

That’s why I love doing origin posts because it reminds me of some episodes that went straight pass my head 🙂

  7. Simpsons rule

Two thing punchy one my favourite pets but stampy my number one. Secondly is futerama game good. Three which game better tapped out or family guy quest for stuff and I unlocked the last prize at last 1 hour of the event

  8. PINCHY! …come back all is forgiven…♡

Seriously though….EA could have added this as a skin to the building or even better an NPC!
