Where Did THAT Come From – Bouncing Battle Baby

Faster than an event speeding donut spender! More powerful than a local Addict! Able to leap long comment threads in a single bound! Look! Up in the TSTO-niverse! It’s a building! It’s a decoration! It’s Superheroes 2016!

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

So much good stuff arrived via the 2016 Superheroes Sequel Event and there was a ton of stuff to cover.  One of the Act III prizes was a new skin for none other than Maggie but I found myself at a loss covering it. I knew it came from a Bongo Comic but not owning said issue, I figured it’d just be something to skip rather than talk out of my fuzzy behind about it. But life had other plans… one of our readers swooped in out of the blue with a dashing smile and an S, errr, P on their chest and e-mailed us one heck of an origin post. Super good job DaPimp and thanks for doing this. Without further ado, here’s a special WDTCF…

Now that you have unlocked the Bouncing Battle Baby costume for Maggie you must be wondering Where Did THAT Come From? I don’t remember that in any of The Simpsons episodes I’ve ever seen! Well that’s because it didn’t come from an episode, it came straight out of the comic books just like the origin of most classic super heroes. The Simpsons comic #60 to be exact, released 15 years ago in 2001.

Simpsons Comic #60

This comic has a main story where Mr. Burns catches the plant workers playing poker, and decides to join them where he ultimately bets Smithers since nobody has change for a thousand dollar bill. Homer wins the service of Smithers as his assistant which leads to him moving into The Simpsons’ basement along with his Malibu Stacy collection, and conflict with Marge ensues as to who can serve Homer the best.

Simpsons Comic #60 Back Side

In the back of The Simpsons comic #60 is a bonus short story. Stretch Dude and Clobber Girl issue #1 “My sister, my sidekick!”

Sure, I could tell you all about it, and how Maggie turns into Bouncing Battle Baby… OR you could just read the whole comic and experience it all for yourself!

So there you have it true believers! Now you know all about Bouncing Battle Baby and The Tremendous Trio. What did you think about the comic? Do you appreciate Maggie’s super hero costume a little bit more now that you know where that came from? Sound off in the comments below and allow me to end this by saying it was an honor to create my first post for this amazingly awesome site that we all love. – DaPimp

Thanks so much! Nothing else I can add… pretty sweet to have the whole story for any comic nerds or Simpsons fan so inclined. TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. Didn’t know there was unique characters to the comic, that’s cool. Thanks for the info.

  2. Thanks for the info! I loved learning about this. 🙂

  3. I have about 120 Issues or so. I was going to go through them to find out where she was introduced, but have been busy/tired with a new job. Thanks for saving me from the daunting task. Now I can just jump straight to Issue 60.

Congrats on the new job Safi! Perfect timing with TSTO for me also, I go back to work after 2 months off on Sunday at 6am😳 Definitely needed this down time 😊

  4. Great post DaPimp! Very detailed. Love the comics and so glad TSTO implement comic characters 😉

  5. I had a more recent comic volume where they build a wall between upper and lower Springfield (Sounds Familiar) But it also include that superhero one. I really thought Bouncing Battle Baby made a show appearance though…

    • Whoops. I meant it was also Reprinted in 2002, 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2010. I brought up the 09 one cause of the “Wall or Bust” reprint, and cause it was the first reprint I remembered.

  6. BTW, Maggie shown to have superpowers in THOH XXVI segment “Telepaths of Glory” when Maggie used radioactive rods as pacifier.

Awesome Pimp! Thank you for filling in that gaping hole in my brain I thought was just another lost moment😂 I’d also like to take this opportunity to tell you I thoroughly enjoy visiting your SF, it always makes me smile. Clean, neat, well decorated, definitely one of my top ten favorites 😊😊😊 When you & Wookiee had that glitch where you were missing from our neighbor lists, I was saddened.
    GranmamaDar 😀

    • Aw thank you. My Springfield is far from perfect, and still a ton of stuff for me to set up in the future but I certainly appreciate the kind words.

  8. Good Glayvin’ EA is using ComicBook characters! There are hundreds of characters from the show even a handful or more SuperHero/Villians from the show.

Well now I know that B.B.B.’s shirt logo is 3Bs and not a Slinky or Zipper as I first thought.

Good work DaPimp, welcome to the TSTO contributors club. 🙂
