Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
It’s that time…calling all Springfield designs of Olympic Proportions! We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff featuring your Springfield Games (or just your homage to the Olympics) designs! So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!
Now that we’re winding down on the Springfield Games event (remember it ends on August 16th…less than a week to go), it’s time to showoff your towns. So send us your Olympic inspired deigns and we’ll be putting up the Showoff post, featuring your designs, on MONDAY August 15th…so you’ve got the whole weekend to prep your towns.
So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8pm EDT Sunday (8/14). Can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.
Any sport related item is fair game as well. Doesn’t just have to be from this event…feel free to show off Tap Ball stuff or anything else you’ve got that works with your Olympic Theme!
You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.
Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots. We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images. Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too). We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two. If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week. You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page. We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme. Remember, this isn’t a contest. There’s nothing to win. It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts. 🙂

Unfortunately it is too late, the post is already done. But in the future you can just upload them to a site like flickr, facebook, dropbox, imgur, etc. and past the link here. You can also email them in.

so i was actually glad for this mini olympics event, because it gave me a reason to go back and redo/refine parts of the sports complex i created during and after the tapball event. i’m calling this expanded area the Mont Sarno Olympic Village and Sports Complex, after the Mont Sarno Research Campus was gracious enough to sponsor and convert itself into a village for the olympic taphletes. even got the country club pitching in with their massive tennis facility, golf course (yes, i bought two training bundles……..) and polo fields, bringing polo back to the olympics for the first time since 1936.

oh my, this is just incredible! and imagine i was complaining about how we didn’t get enough stuff. great combos.
Inspiration didn’t strike me yet. For now, I stuck all of it next to the recycle yard and tire fire. Maybe the show off will help me get some ideas.

To be honest I forgot you could do that lol. I think I’m going to have to resubmit it now so it doesn’t drive me crazy. And I love your town too! I feel like I always see something new and awesome every time I visit!

Don’t do it just yet. MAYBE they will raise the limit this week with the new update requiring a certain OS version…? Fingers crossed.

I think all three of your sports related areas look great! My 2 favorites though are your tapball stadium and your newest addition with the go karts. I actually like your tapball stadium better than mine😆. You found a way to make the fencing look good where I just could not. And your go cart area gave me another reason to second guess not buying Barts new item. I definitely think if you choose to participate with the show off that you should include both of those:)
And I was a dummy and already stored everything because I apparently don’t have patience and jumped the gun lol.
Can’t wait to see what everyone else has done because for the first time I really have NO idea what to do with this stuff!! I was thinking of adding it to my kids fun zone/stadium area but there’s just no room in that whole area of my town. It doesn’t really fit in anywhere else though…
Facing the same dilemma. Kids fun zone/stadium area is the perfect place for it; but only if I have room for it.
I similarly had to look at that area and did manage to re-jig things to allow for it to fit. Even managed to fit some stairs to the olympic tyre torch.
I didn’t do anything special with the stuff… I already have extensive sporting areas, and most of this new stuff is ugly! I put the burning tyre giant torch / cauldron thing next to my burning tyre yard, next to all the other rubbish-themed buildings (recycling areas, scrap yard). The podium I put in the primary school oval, as it’s an amateurish kids construction. The badge (pin) stand I put on my squidport docks as there are a lot of knick-knack type buildings on there. The only thing I liked was the go-kart track, which has a pride of place in my kids adventure area. I didn’t like any of the premium items… so that’s it. You wouldn’t know the Olympics were on in my town – which is how I’d like it to be in real life lol!
