Squishees go on sale in my Springfield.
In just about four hours, I will be having a sale on Squishees at the soon to be 1017 locations in my Springfield. With EA’s sale on KEMs, I decided to farm them overnight. With each covering 28 square, uh, well, squares, that means I have 28,476 square squares of construction of KEMs going on overnight.
Question for Sandra and others regarding the app “quick thoughts”, I’m thinking about joining it, just want to hear your quick thoughts to make sure you still think it’s worth it and safe (fear of being emailed ads, etc.) ?
Yes, and yes. I used the same email address that I use for my WordPress account (the email address that I read and reply to most of these comment from) and that email address gets little or no spam. I’ve made at least $140 worth of iTunes credits from it so far. I’m just $5 away from getting one more $10 credit, which would mean that I’ve managed to save up enough this time to buy a boatload of donuts, without ever spending a dime of my own money.
I tried to do the Amazon version, as well…downloaded the app and set it up under a different account…but there’s something wrong with the app or my account, since it’s just not working right. I’d like to figure out how to get that fixed at some point, because Amazon credit is much more like real money to me…..I’m a Prime member and just bought 6 different items from Amazon in the past week or so! (I don’t always buy that much, but I’m going on a trip and wanted to get a few things that I thought would be nice to have, like waterproof “bags” for my Kindle and iPod, so I can use them in the pool (and a pair of waterproof earbuds to go with the iPod one), and an AV to HDMI converters, so I can plug my DVD player into the rec hall TV, if I want to watch something with my folks. 🙂

G’day fellow tappers,
I keep a keen eye on most posts and have noticed a number of you also tap away on an iPad 2, so thought I’d share my recent experience after ‘bricking’ mine.
I bit the bullet after getting a bit jack of all the on-screen reminders to upgrade iOS to 9.3.4, apparently a serious security bug going around, anyway at the end of the update when your device tries to connect to Apple’s authentication servers then that’s when the bricking occurs.
I’ve found from previous updates that it is best practice not to do OTA updates but rather do full updates through iTunes (either Mac or Windows) takes a bit longer but more reliable, and it goes without saying, ‘back up first’.
Luckily having gone through this same experience on previous updates I was only off-line for a day while fixing the problem… my iPhone 5 didn’t have a hissy fit at all, I keep on cussing at my iPad and threatening it with replacement but it doesn’t help… those shiney new iPads are Costco are looking good!
I bought a new IPad, it’s going to take some time for me to figure it all out, there are lots of features (even with the screen keyboard) to use and learn.
Good news, I’m able to download all my “purchased” apps, like Tapped Out which I already downloaded.
But due to another current complication, I can’t download apps that I didn’t previously download (I’ll have to visit the bank and get my credit card figured out), and thus for the time being I can’t download new apps (even if they are free). I wanted TSTO Addicts app to be my first app download, Maybe tomorrow. :/
Anyway, thought I’d share this with all the folks out there that don’t care 😛

Hey hey happy tappers! Long time no post 😉 I’ll try to keep this as brief as possible but knowing me, that’s unlikely to happen. On we go!
Let’s see….last time I posted was in the middle of the superhero event. Narrowly made the last prize of act 3 as I was on vacation and tapping infrequently. Also picked up Milo and I love him! Finished the Olympic event quite quickly and I’m thrilled to have pin collector Lisa and Fatov in my town. I really love that episode 🙂 (the reason why is pretty obvious, eh?) And now I’m ready for the next big thing!
In the real world, I’ve been super busy. As I mentioned earlier, I was on vacation at the cottage for just over a week and had a great time. We swam every day, went horseback riding, took day trips and ate tons of great food. A few weeks ago I asked for help choosing a simpsons dvd to bring and ended up grabbing the earliest season available (season 6) but ended up working through the series boxset of Alf for the entire week instead 😂. The week after, my grandma came to stay with us and I participated in a global charity scavenger hunt. Tons of fun! We also celebrated my sister Lisa’s 16th birthday on the 31st. I’d been saving the clip of MJ singing with Bart for a couple years now and finally got to play it for her on her big day. Michael was one of her heroes and when she heard the “personalized” birthday song and realized who was singing, she started to cry (and I’ll admit, I was fighting back tears too). It was a really special moment. Finally, it’s been almost exactly one year since I was discharged from my last hospital stay! I’m not 100% yet but I’m not malnourished anymore (actually far from it now lol) so there’s a lot to celebrate on my end.
Tl;dr excited for new event, lots of good stuff on my end. Hope everyone is well! And a belated happy anniversary to A/B/W (and now Patric)! Thanks for all you do for this fantastic community of lil addicts like me! 😀

Is anyone else using the forum app on an iPhone 5s (or iPhone in general) and not getting notifications of new posts on here? I’ve enabled notifications in the settings but still nothing, I have to keep checking manually for new posts. I don’t usually mind except with new updates/events it’s handy to get an alert via the forum.
Are you using the WordPress App or the Addicts app?
If it’s the WordPress one something’s up with that. If it’s the Addicts App, we never notified for every post (1/day usually), but I stopped doing them when I found out the app wasn’t working on multiple devices.
Had to delete some of my neighbors. Why is it that every time I visit them, my game crashes? It was the same ones every time. So sorry if I moved away, nothing personal, just annoying to have to restart the game 4 or 5 times while trying to visit all of you.

And so a final collaboration and expansion on my 16th update desires:
– More land for Springfield proper. I’m talking enough for me to spend all or more of my 133 some odd million on.
– More land in the Heights. Match the length of Springfield proper.
– Krustyland to appear beyond the Heights and more rides / purpose to it.
– A farther out viewing distance for scrolling through Springfield.
– A monrorail station per major event. It’s a cash cow EA!
– An ability to create ‘preferred tasks’ list at Unemployment Office.
– An ability to send all on longest indoor/ outdoor tasks. Ghost town or hustle and bustle baby.
– Ability to ‘confine’ characters to a selected area. E.g. Gummy Joe to Wild West. Cletus to ‘Hick Town’.
– Mud roads and paths.
– Sun blocker/ night mode/ weather mode.

Hands down whitewater canoeing/kayaking and archery are the best events.
Question: After the superhero event was over I was able to zoom pretty far out and was able to see more of my town than I could before, then a few days ago the max zoom out returned to its previous limit. Is there a setting that changed, or something EA was testing and then removed?

Oh. Sounds like Samsung is the one messing up your game. Phone? I hear there’s an app to fix that. “Samsung Game Tuner”. This info is from the EA forums. I don’t have a Samsung device or the problem (but I have been considering getting one).

My wife and I participated in the Portland, Oregon Bridge pedal today. Third year in a row. It’s a fun bicycle ride event (not a race). Thousands participate. Cyclists can ride over 6, 8, or 10 bridges in Portland. My wife and I did the 10 bridge ride. 33 miles of weaving back and forth across the Willamette river over all of the bridges. Lots of fun on a beautifully sunny day. No- it doesn’t rain here all of the time. 😎

Hello fellow tappers. I’m exhausted this Sunday. My kids were in hockey camp all week (just the constant drying and packing of equipment is a huge job in itself), we had a death in the family, and soccer tournaments all weekend for two of the kids. My house is a disaster. I have to make sure everyone is ready for my dad’s wedding next Saturday, and then throw my son’s birthday party the next day – possibly while hosting out of town family….all of whom will only be confirming if they’re coming probably when they ring the doorbell… I know that if I can survive all this, I can probably get through anything. In addition, today is weighing heavily on my mind that it was exactly 5 years ago, and in fact, it was a beautiful Sunday just like today, my daughter’s soccer tournament, that my husband got what looked like a harmless scrape on his knee, and two days later was on full life support in the ICU for nearly a month, and three months total in the hospital for a life threatening infection. To this day, he struggles with chronic pain, but we are so fortunate and blessed, where many others in that situation have not been so lucky.
Anyhow – how was that for a jam packed paragraph? I guess I just needed to vent somewhere a little. I’m happy nonetheless, even if the above sounded a bit down. I know that by next Sunday, I will be exhausted, but I will have survived it all – and anyway, it will be an exhausting weekend because of celebrations so one shouldn’t complain to be so blessed. After that, two fairly relaxed weeks of letting the kids rot their brains on video games or whatnot, until school starts up again. At least I won’t have to drive them to any camps in the early morning, or pick them up anywhere.
So…TSTO – So nice to hear from Bunny yesterday! I hope we’ll see you post some more things soon. You’ve been missed. Getting used to Patric’s style, and a nice addition to the site I think. So happy to see more of Wookiee’s posts that I enjoy so much, and so glad that Alissa doesn’t have to carry quite so much of the load anymore. I finished the mini event at some point last week. It was fun, but I do wish we had a bit more Olympic style decorations. I bought the flag bundle and am trying to create a little Olympic village. I do have some creative ideas as to how I can use existing buildings and decorations, but funny, along the lines of one of Patric’s recent posts, I’m not sure I can bring myself to move said buildings from where they already are and use them for a different purpose. TSTO problems to be sure…I’m going to have to think on this for awhile. As for the real Olympics, I’ve been having fun catching what events I can. So far, I’ve especially enjoyed the swimming, gymnastic and waterpolo. Unfortunately, I seem to have missed most of the diving, which is one of my favourites. Hard to get past the green pools though. As a former national level waterpolo player, I have never had to contend with green water, and I would not have been very pleased about that! Looking forward to whatever TSTO brings us next and I hope it starts soon! Have a great week all.

Thanks Sandra. Yes, when I write it down, we do seem to be a very on the go family, but I’ve learned that’s simply the norm when you have multiple kids (I was an only child). Even if they each only do 1-2 things, you’re always hopping! Still, I wouldn’t change it for the world. Although I would ease up this week some!

I was just kidding around. But no, I’m not much of a planner.
I usually try to plan where I want to put something before I put it out. Some things are required for an event and those don’t always get a plan right away, but I try to incorporate them. If I’m unsuccessful in that, it’s the storage box for them until I can figure something out.
There are a few ragged edges on my town, where I’m trying to design something but don’t have the right spot for it yet. If I need the space for a genuine design, that stuff will also go into storage.
