Well the torch has gone out on the 2016 Springfield Games, I hope your athletes survived the madness! And while we wait for the next big thing we thought it may be fun to take a look at your answers from our All About YOU Poll! Since, you know, once the next event hits your opinions may change again. 😉
In honor of our 3 year blogiversary we asked you guys to tell us a little more about yourselves. We wanted to learn more about who you guys are & what your tapping habits are & we wanted you guys to learn more about each other! (we’ve done this a couple times in the past as well) And, as always, you guys came through and we learned some interesting facts about you!
We were completely blown away by the number of responses we received to the poll & even more blown away by the stats! So I’ve been tinkering away compiling all of the data and putting it all into fun graphics and charts & now the time has come to share those results with you! So let’s break it all down shall we?

So for the first time it breaks out that most of you are in your 30s and 40s. I guess as we get older (none of us are in our 20s anymore) you guys do too. Nice to see we’re all aging gracefully 🙂

For the THIRD year in a row….oh yeah!
It’s getting close to knocking him off though…Otto was your next favorite by less than 1%

(Overwhelmingly your least favorite…25% for Chester the next closest was Lugash with 5%. You guys really hate Chester…)
This is now three years running that y’all have chosen Dr. Nick as your favorite and the Funzos as your LEAST favorite. Although it’s getting close for Dr. Nick. Squeaky Voiced Teen just missed it by a squeaker…see what I did there 😉 ….of less than 1%.
And no one comes close to your hatred of the Funzos. Maybe next year I should find out which you hate more…the Funzos or Chester lol
And yet again, for the third year…
Nothing is even close to touching the awesomeness of Duff Stadium for you guys (Aztec was 2nd by 4%)…and Try-N-Save, well it’s Trying, but it’s not your favorite that’s for sure (Stacey’s Dream House was next for you guys, but nearly 7% behind Try-N-Save)
After getting knocked off last year by Superheroes, Stonecutters regains the top spot as your favorite TSTO Event. With Superheroes slipping by to number two. (Almost 14% behind Stonecutters)
I guess time, and some more events, has finally healed the pain that was Easter 2014 for many of you. As Tap Ball slips into the top spot for the WORST TSTO Event, followed by Superheroes 2. (Guess you guys are proving what they say…the sequel is never as good as the original)
In 2016 EA announced there would no longer be traditional Level Updates for TSTO. Instead they would be replaced by “Mini Events”, like Springfield Games. Here are your thoughts on the “Mini Events”…

Wow ! I got to say first welcome back crankyoldguy, from one old guy to another . I don’t feel too alone now being in the 2.6% age group. I started playing 3.5 years ago when I was part of the 50’s group. I play every day except for the first 2 months of this year being the hospital. Both my daughters play and my youngest played my tablet for me until I was able to so. I do say I find tstosaddicts a great source of helpful tips and info and you all work so hard to make it happen. Thx a bunch 😀

this was my first survey and I really enjoyed it surprised me when i figured out how long i have been doing this lol i find myself hoping there is no events going on when i am traveling lol. thanks for all you do. At least Arnie Pye was fun for a while , until the chopper keeps getting in your way. But when I first saw him in someone elses town i had to have him lol
the one thing i wish for would be to able to cancel a job for a character after you have started as sometimes I send them on the wrong task

The way around this, as I learned from others on Addicts, is to store the character if they are on an outdoor task or, if indoors, store the building they’re in. This will free them from their task.

The 2016 Valentines event was my personal favorite, mainly just so that we could get Mona in the game. She went far too long without any screen time for my fingers and brain to handle. She’s definitely one of the much less heard of characters, but in those few appearances, she’s always heartbreaking in many ways. An example of that is when in How I Wet Your Mother in season 22, she disguised herself as Death to save the rest of the Simpson family in Homer’s dream.
Mona was the only thing good about that event for me lol

LOL. Ease up, Fred! As I have discovered, there is a method to their sweetness. And…they deploy the “delete” key far more than I used to. Alissa…she is the “Mack-Mamma of TSTO.” I bow down to her methods. And great to see you assimilated (even if it is grudgingly!).

Interesting results. I’m surprised most people are in their 30s or 40s, I’d have thought 20s would have been the majority.
30s and 40s makes sense though. Chronologically is correlates to people watching as kids and growing up with the show.
I thought so exactly, I remember staying up to watch the Simpsons when I was young ( I’m 36) so playing this game is so nostalgic it brings a smile to my face every time I play 🙂

I have a feeling those dumb Funzos are going to be a factor in the next science event coming up. EA is going to find a way to make us spend donuts on the annoying little fuzz balls. They ar, after all, robots.

I feel your pain, phil! Like when I get up in the morning…nothing graceful about that! Played 18 in 94 degree heat yesterday. Woke up feeling like I’d been through daily doubles in football. Not a good sign…

Were the lists of favourite / least favourite premium buildings & characters up to date? From what I recall there wasn’t much choice, so I chose the least offensive options – but none were my actual favourites / least favourites.
It was up to date with PERMANENT Premium items in the game. We did not included Limited-Time ones because, well, not everyone has had access to those. So the results would be skewed.
All good – I thought there were some missing, but I trust you 🙂
Believe it or not there aren’t that many permanent premium characters….it’s surprising when you see them all together.

There is only one thing I want to know… no it isn’t what we all eat for breakfast, our least favourite extended family member who visits at Christmas or why 90% of politicians smell like mouldy cheese…
…the most important questions is: WHY haven’t EA given us the option to save the town layout before nuking and rebuilding? Surely being able to save a couple of different layouts and reverting to them at a later date wouldn’t be a coding nightmare?
That would be amazing. I’ve been wanting to redesign my town, especially since I can’t seem to fit my monorail anywhere but the top left corner of main Springfield. I don’t want to nuke it all or even do the temporarily-move-buildings-around method, because I kinda like my current layout.
If we had an option to save a town layout or two, we could experiment and revert if needed.
OMG! That would be SO cool! My town seems too big for me to want to nuke it nowadays. It would take too long to rebuild.
Or how about if they had a little ‘town nuking’ menu? You could have a choice to save it, and maybe a choice to put all money generating buildings back in one fell swoop? Possibly a couple other things like that. RachelS
Totally agree Rachel – it feels like a daunting task and not one I want to undertake. A save option would be ideal. Then you could nuke and know you could revert if needed. You could also holiday theme your town more easily.

I was mildly surprised about Duffman (mildly, because I remembered the results from last year). I find him boring as hell.
He’s won it every year…
But remember it’s permanent characters. With the removal of regular level updates (and permanent premium characters) maybe next year I’ll do a favorite limited-time character. Those are harder though because not everyone has had access to them.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but he might have the most outdoor tasks out of any character (single skin, not counting the multitude Homer has due to multiple skins). Sure, most of them are just to dance outside of a building…but still…
His task to promote Duff is pretty amusing, too.
Yes, the most outdoor tasks which essentially amount to a single task unless you have the Duff stadium. As I said, boring!
Kang is premium, and all his (her?) tasks are outdoor and different from each other. Granted, he’s not permanent, but players have been getting him for free every year, so… I suspect if he was added to the answers he’d win by a landslide.
Interesting set of results. If you don’t mind me asking, were the numbers completing the poll similar to previous years? Don’t want exact numbers but I thought it was interesting to see how stable the results have been over the 3 years and not seeing any drastic changes. I know a lot of neighbours have come and gone in my game but thinking this can’t be the case for the site – a lot of loyal readers. The only significant difference I saw was an increase in those accessing the game through an android phone. As an Apple product user, I wouldn’t know why this was. To knock duffman off top spot for favourite character & building combo, more visual tasks for other characters may help (although I think I voted for Duffman…oh yeah!). Thanks for collating and sharing.
It’s about the same response from last year. I think the android uptick is just more people switching to Android phones (there are a ton of them).
Interesting, not too surprised except for the love of mini events. After going on vacation and having limited access I really became opposed to the idea of time limits. Still got it all but was kind of close.
Man, Funzos are a waste. Maybe if they had actual tasks, they wouldn’t be so bad; Destroy Other Toys, Burn at the Tire Yard, Hide Under Christmas Trees…
And if I remember correctly, aren’t they all different in regards to pricing? EA should just give them to players for free.
As for Chester, he’s a “who cares” character. He was never in an episode…was he even mentioned? So I can see why people wouldn’t like him.
All in all, pretty cool to see the results. Glad that I’m in the majority for the age range…was worried I was surrounded by youngins’ 😉
