Sci-Fi Prize Guide: Act 1, Prize 2 Future Duff Sign

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The nerds have invaded Springfield!  Ok just one nerd, and he’s not all that bad.  And only in Springfield can Professor Frink, with the help of Homer, open up a black hole that transports doppelgangers, robots and Stephen Hawking (!) to our pocket sized Springfields! This multiverse event hit our devices and it’s full of alternate universe inspired decorations, buildings & characters!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Dark Matter (indicator_scifi_darkmatter) to unlock each prize!

The second Act 1 Prize is awarded at 6,500 indicator_scifi_darkmatter is the Future Duff, because you can’t get enough of that wonderful Duff…

So let’s take a closer look at this second prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…

Once you’ve collected 6,500 indicator_scifi_darkmatter you’ll automatically be awarded the Future Duff Sign and you’ll see this message popup:

2016-08-16 20.24.41

And you’ll have the option to place it in your Springfield immediately or store it in your inventory for later.  Remember if you store it you’ll have to go back into your inventory to retrieve it.

The Future Duff Sign does not come with a questline (other than the initial one telling you to unlock it).  Nothing to help you earn more indicator_scifi_darkmatter…just unlock the prize and move on.

Here are some quick facts about The Future Duff Sign:

  1. Meh – We csn already Craft Future Signs – and this doesnt offer increased XP % !! I’m starting to feel like EA Epic Fail’d Act One Prizes, cause there are better things to Craft (if I was wrong with this assessment? A majority of my Neighboreenos would be reaching the end of Act One Prizes – which they are not – vs loading up on Freemiums crafted – which they are!)

Thank you for the free 15 Donuts, EA – I’m going to take them as your way of saying “my bad” this time

  2. I like it, it gives a much needed splash of colour to the overall steel/glass/concrete look of everything else.

  3. Looking at the totals of dark matter on my neighbour visits I’ve got to admit some people are going to struggle to complete the prize track. Not sure if EA have got the balance right on this one.

  4. I’m starting to worry I won’t unlock Sgt. Skinner… Little more than 5 days left and I have not unlock the Itchy and Scratchy holotheater, I’m like 3000 dark matter behind, I play daily and got the event update only 5 hours after been released, Am I missing or doing something wrong???

  5. This has been the worst event imo. I am really worried right now that I won’t get enough dark matter to win Sgt. Skinner. There are too few robots, the payout from the SciFighter + different Homers are too small considering you have to wait 4 hours to keep playing… its just not holding my interest. Even Crafting is taking forever, but at least we have 30 days to unlock all the craftable items. I seriously think I’m going to miss out on the prize track and have to buy the remainder with donuts.

Don’t like this format at all.

    • Don’t forget you also have daily tasks, where payout of 1100 dark matter is quite common. Play with cancelling the tasks with different payouts (like money or future dollars), pretty good chance that you will gat additional 1100 dark matter a day.

And questlines (for crafted buildings I am not sure, but for purchased characters yes) bring more dark matter. And you still have Friends with 90 daily actions available (x2 dark matter).

      • As of now I only had that price once, it isn’t that common and I cancelled a lot of prices

      • I wouldn’t say it’s quite common for everybody. I’ve gotten the dark matter task once since the event started and when I cancel out one of the other event tasks it always gives me a non-event task. YMMV.

    • Same here, I check every 4 hours, do the neighbors daily visits and not so much improvement with dark matter, I’m about 3000 currency behind to unlock the Itchy and Scratchy thing and only 5 days to go… Anyone who can share best practices for getting 1000+ dark matter a day? Without counting daily challenges

      • There’s no great tip honestly. It’s just consistent logging in every 4hrs…that’s it. You go in every 4hrs, 5times/day and you play the sci fighter game (which kills all your robots too…so don’t go crazy tapping them) and reassign your Homer’s on their tasks. That’s it. Of course how many you get from the SciFighter will vary, but try to tap at least 30 robots each time and you should be fine.

  6. 2nd rail tunnel ? That’s gonna be really cool, gonna re-tweak my track layout for the umpteenth time but hey thats what makes it fun !

  7. It’s next to my Radioactive Man statue so it looks like he’s holding a Duff lol. I put a pic on the TSTO Addicts flickr site.

  8. I may get to the holo theater later tonight, or else tomorrow morning in my B (premium) city, and that’s with all the extra matter from Grimes and the stadium but without friends (they don’t like me… 😢). So far my A (freemium) city is lagging about 3000 behind, even though I visit all my 30+ friends daily… So without the bonus matter it is slow going indeed. I will probably be able to get all prizes for both though, it’s just a real grind! 😎

  9. I agree that although there is a week left, I have been pretty good about keeping up on things and it still seems like I won’t make it to the final prize in time. Feel like I’m missing something.

  10. Rail tunnel #2 after completion of the rail yard tasks today!!

  11. I like it 🙂 … it sparkles!

  12. Loving this event

  13. Is there something I’m missing with the amount of dark matter were collecting? I’m struggling. I’ve completed act one quest line, I do the scifighter every four hours except when I sleep, I send the homers to earn dark matter and I visit friends but I’m behind and unable to catch up. Is there something I’m missing? Is it just me?

Otherwise, I really like this event and am looking forward to having a future section in my Springfield! Thanks again for all you do to help!!

  14. Probably the weakest prize out of the five. I still need to unlock the itchy and scratchy holotheater and sergeant skinner. Is it just me or have the prizes in this event been harder to unlock? Usually at this point I’m near unlocking the final prize or I’m already done.

    • Well…not to make an obvious point…but there is still almost a full week left of Act I.

      • Yes but I started a day late and have been working for almost a week and am still a whole day behind. At this rate, I won’t get the last prize no matter how much I do over the next week of Act 1. Normally I can get caught up if I happen to be behind but not so in this event.

      • Yes I know. I’m not worried that I won’t unlock the prizes. I’ll finish in time. I’m just saying that normally in events like this I’m finished at this point with still a week left. I play very often.

  15. Josephine Kick@$$

Will end up on the boardwalk where the rest of my Duff related stuff migrates towards lol
