Should I Spend Donuts On the Holo-Bundle or Springfield of Tomorrow Sign?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The nerds have invaded Springfield!  Ok just one nerd, and he’s not all that bad.  And only in Springfield can Professor Frink, with the help of Homer, open up a black hole that transports doppelgangers, robots and Stephen Hawking (!) to our pocket sized Springfields!  So time to crack open those hologram wallets, because there’s a store full of multiverse theme premium items to spend our donuts on!

But with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the the Holo-Bundle or Springfield of Tomorrow sign to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these futuristic decorations to your Springfield…

Holo-Bundle   ico_stor_single_springfieldoftomorrow

Because these are decorations, and I’ve always said decorations are a personal preferance I’m not going to do Pros and Cons.  Instead I’ll lay out the details, what it does and give my thought on it….

Holo-Bundle

Building/Decoration: Holo-Bundle
Includes: 2 Holographic Benches, 2 Holographic Lamp Posts, 8 Holographic Shrubs, and 12 Holographic Shrubs
Donut Price: 70 Donuts
Bonus %: 1% overall
Size: Various sizes, same footprint as the non-holo ones currently in store
Unique?: No, you have purchase more than 1 bundle
Conform-O-Meter: Each item is Vanity +100.

Leaves stores August 30th

What Does it Do: Really just decorations like the regular ones in your Springfield.  The exception is they sometimes flicker and when tapped they holographic image will scramble to the rainbow color you see on the tree above.  That’s about it…(oh and it does have a little funny dialogue when placed about Homer sitting on the Holo Graphic benches…)

Final Thought:
Personally, I’m passing on them.  Initially I thought I might want them for the multiverse area I’m creating in Springfield, but after seeing that for the most part they’re just like the regular trees and benches…I’d rather save my 70 donuts for something better.  Just don’t think the function of the items justifies the 70 donut price tag…

ico_stor_single_springfieldoftomorrow

Building/Decoration: Springfield of Tomorrow Sign
Donut Price: 35 Donuts
Bonus %: 1% on all cash and XP
Size: 2×5
Unique?: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +200.

Leaves stores when the Event Ends…

What Does it Do?: Always animated.  Spotlights move around and sign light flashes.  There is no sound with this one though, even when tapped.

Final Thought:
I can appreciate this one more than the holo-bundle.  For one, it’s half the price and offers the same bonus % as the holo-bundle.  And it’s always animated, with more of a drastic animation.  The holo-bundle items have a subtle animation, while the sign is always animated.  This one I’ll most likely grab before the event is over…just to have a nice entry point for my multiverse area.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I’ll be passing on the holo-bundle, but most likely grabbing the Springfield of Tomorrow Sign.  Of course whatever you decide just remember they are limited time and will be leaving our games very soon.  So watch those timers and if you’re thinking about grabbing one, do it very soon before it’s gone for good!

What are your thoughts on the holo-bundle and the Springfield of Tomorrow Sign?  Have you purchased either one? Decoration plans for them?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I bought the holo bundle, but after going through my inventory, i only seem to have gotten twenty items. Am I missing something or is this another EA ball dropping?

  2. What’s the premium bonus on the holo bundle?

  3. Sign is Cool (wish we could get more then 1)
    Bundle? No Bueno EA!

  4. Josephine Kick@$$

I love the look of the sign and got it as soon as I could 😀

  5. I bought two of the halo packs, I couldn’t resist having the holo benches and street lights in the area I created for my future Springfield. The sign was also a great purchase, as I use it for the entrance into the area. Overall I’ve enjoyed this evening much like wild west event. It provides you with the ability to create a themed area for your Springfield. Beats the past eventseveral where the items just get placed in your inventory after the event has finished. I hope with the next two events we get more buildings, like the simpsons house and kwiki mart. I would love to have future Moe’s!

  6. I definitely jumped on the sign! I’m setting my Future Springfield up as an extension of my Duff Gardens, so the sign is super helpful. I also have my Wild West town off of Duff Gardens, so they’re all like different sections of the theme park. Makes the wildly different designs make a kind of “sense”, I think.

    • Goin’ down the rabbit hole
      Even hoes and gigolos
      Come on, come on
      Come on and follow me.

Sorry, your name now has that song stuck in my head. Do you happen to have a photo of your future area? I’m looking for inspiration when I finally get my own future Springfield happening.

  7. What they need to do is provide a task generator from the department of labor building which puts all “action” tasks on characters to animate the town. Otherwise to achieve this its one by one which STINKS!

  8. I bought the sign for this purpose:

I did not buy the bundle, but I did spend an equivalent number of donuts on a bunch of the flowering shrubs separately, for this purpose:

  9. Will be grabbing that awesome sign for future Springfield, then rockstar Maggie and that Frink deal. Love this event so much more then superheros.

  10. As soon i saw the holo bundle I wanted it so i will be buying that! I really like the holo items and i’m hoping that they will add holographic roads too. Do it EA, you know you want to 😃

  11. I’ve spent so much time in my Springfield I want them to just enable VR single person mode so that I can walk around in my town. I do have a very lively social life, but man my town is so much fun now with the past few updates, ever since the Casio update this game has been great.

  12. I got the sign and am happy with it…still dreaming of holo stuff tho 🙂

  13. I’m very glad I waited until I got a look at the trees in another town. I was originally sure I was going to buy this bundle. But what’s up with those Valentine bushes? That’s why I hesitated at first; I don’t care for those bushes. And all the trees do look way too much like the normal ones. I’m a bit surprised at the steep price tag. RachelS

  14. yes on the sign, no on the bundle…. holo bundle needs at least double the amount of items to even be contemplated imo. and like someone else mentioned, they only change colors when tapped…. not what i was expecting.

  15. I think I will pick up the sign but not until the end of the event. Saving my sprinkles incase there is something that I just have to have 🙂

  16. This doesn’t belong here, but here it is: I recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, which uses a 4:3 aspect ratio rather than the more common 16:9 ratio. TSTO is optimized for 16:9, so at 4:3, the view was zoomed in too far such that only a few buildings were visible at a time, making design nearly impossible. I just discovered that downloading the (free) Samsung Game Tuner app, it will correct the zoom issue, making TSTO playable on new Samsung devices. It saved me from having to give up on the game, so hopefully others with this device might benefit from the advice.

  17. I got the sign immediately! Love it! I could place it anywhere in my sci-fi area! The Holo Bundle was an easy pass. The ONLY thing I like is the new scrub with the yellow flowers. However, I would like that item in a non-hologram form and for cash. I would look great with the springfield greenhouse! EA… DO IT!!!!!!

  18. Elysium Project looks enticing to go with my luminescent flowers…

  19. I’m guessing there probably are some errors in the content list of the holo bundle, the pictured trees are not mentioned at all and shrub is mentioned twice. 🙂

  20. I agree. I passed on the bundle and opted for the sign. I’ll be doing a bit of shifting and remod, like you I like to have little villages to showcase my updates and themes. As always I love to get your take on updates. Hope all is well;)

  21. I am waiting to see what comes up next but will probably be grabbing the sign, it is very cute!

  22. I wish I waited on the Holo bundle. The rainbow tree is what grabbed my attention and I was really aggravated to find out how they only show the holograph when tapped. Kind of a bait and switch in my opinion. The sign I am pleased with . In fact I have bought everything except the giant robot. I’m still not convinced I need that for my future SF. Time will tell. Wish I could return the bundle. Sigh!

    • I put my sign infront of the legs of the giant robot and it looks like a cool massive gate to futurworld.
Reminds me of those giant statues in Lord of the Rings!

  23. Holo bundle was an easy pass…still mulling over the sign, though.

  24. They really do look almost exactly like their physical counterparts, aside from a faint glow at the bottom and the occasional glitch. The SoT sign on the other hand is a must-buy if you’really building out a future Springfield area. Looks dope placed right in front of the giant robot.

  25. Snagged the ‘Springfield of Tomorrow’ sign immediately. Can’t pass up that perfect entry sign for your future city!

  26. I am just curious. Do the “completionists” have enough land to have everything in use or is much of it stored and rotated seasonally?

    • This completionist is just now grappling with that conundrum. I’ve had to store many of my novelty buildings, as well as most of my Springfield Heights. And with how massive and numerous these new SciFi buildings are, I’m going to be storing even more.

    • As long as I don’t use multiples I have room for it all. From time to time I have to shift things around but I feel that is part of the fun.

    • There’s land but not much. I have everything on display and still have a little wiggle room.

      • A lot of land available….Springfield is huge…almost two half years here and still figuring out how to fill in stuff…

        • Have you bought everything? I mean every Gil deal, everything? I have one of everything in my town, no multiples besides trees and such. And it’s packed besides a park area or two.

    • Sadly, most of my stuff sits in storage. Some of it would look good in KL, if they ever let that happen.

    • I’ve been playing for over a year now and have pretty much grabbed everything with a few exceptions (On rare occasion I’ve passed on some decorations and characters. I have purchased every available building though) Right now it’s not a problem and I still have room for 4 or 5 more big events. May become a problem in the future depending on how often we get new land. Not a problem now though so I don’t worry about it until it gets there. One thing I don’t do is farm. I only have one of each item unless it’s a tree or bench or some minor decoration. I do have some stuff in storage but it’s only decorations that I have too much of, some seasonal stuff and a bunch of Lard Land Donuts that I’ve won with mystery boxes.

  27. Really didn’t want the holo bundle but the completionist in me demanded it. Totally a pass unless it’ll drive you crazy if you don’t.
