Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The nerds have invaded Springfield! Ok just one nerd, and he’s not all that bad. And only in Springfield can Professor Frink, with the help of Homer, open up a black hole that transports doppelgangers, robots and Stephen Hawking (!) to our pocket sized Springfields!
Love it or hate it, EA has proven over the last year + that crafting is here to stay. While the prizes themselves are pretty self explanatory, collect this to earn these prizes, crafting is a whole other “animal”. Crafting requires some self direction. You decide what you want and collect the items to craft accordingly. Sometimes this is successful and sometimes it’s not. And, as with all things, for some events crafting is easier than others. This event is a combination of a few different techniques we’ve seen in the past (Leveling Up (Casino Event) and 1 Item for Crafting (Superheroes 2) and adds some new dimensions (Future Bucks).
Earlier in Act 1 I broke down how to craft, the details about Future Bucks, Robot Parts, Demos and more. You can view that post here, especially if you’re confused about Future Bucks. Now it’s time to break down all of the crafting prizes. What each does, how many you can get, size and more. So let’s get to the long awaited crafting prize post….

Once you’ve unlocked everything and reach Level 19, the MAX level, you’ll unlock the ability to trade Robot Parts for Future Bucks . The conversion rate is pretty bad though…it’s:
Now here’s the common question many of you will be asking…What Should I Craft?
Here’s the deal…craft what you like/what you want. You don’t have to max Demos out, if you don’t want to. Figure out what you could/would use in your Springfield…but if there’s something you don’t want, don’t craft it. What works for some, won’t work for everyone.
With this event there are a TON of awesome items available for crafting. You really can’t go wrong with any of the items…especially if you’re making a multiverse/future area of your town. So decide what you like and go from there. Personally, I’ll be grabbing just about everything…especially the buildings. It’s great that the buildings all have tasks at them. Definitely worth picking those up.
So have fun, get creative and grab what works for you! 🙂 And remember…crafting is open for the ENTIRE event. So there’s no rush to craft anything. Take your time, collect your currency and plan out what you’d like to do.
And that’s it…the full breakdown of each crafting prize available for the Sci-Fi Event!
What are your thoughts on the crafting items? Which items do you have your eye on? Any you’ve crafted so far? Plans for the items? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!
Still how can I use future bucks? I got ove 12000 and no matter how I try, it won’t let me use them except for the robot parts. I collect them all, but I need more decorations. Help!!!
The event is over……….
Rolling the dice and not updating my TSTO app. Only 210 robot parts to go to get Homer’s Dream House so if things last for another 8 hours I’m there and things look good since no forced update yet!! All prizes and crafting done for 0 donuts! Yay! Seems unreasonable that I was able to do 4 rounds of bonuts in Act 3 and yet could barely get all the crafting prizes. EA seems to have messed up the math on this one.
Trying hard to get Homers dream house but only have 600 parts but 24,000 future bucks. Sure wish i could craft some townhouses but still have two demos to go. Cant seem to earn robot parts since all my alternate Homers are gone. Only when doing the fight. Even collecting them at neighbors houses is gone. Anyone have any ideas??? Help me. Event ends in the morning
Honestly, the Dream House really isn’t worth it. You’re better off with many of the other items.
Can you trade future bucks for robot parts?
No. As the post indicates it’s trading robot parts for future bucks.
So use future bucks to gain buildings which will give you more recurring revenue.
It depends on what you want to do. Some people don’t like the idea of having a bunch of the same building all over their town (i.e. house farming)…so they’ll craft other things or nothing at all.
Has anyone noticed that you can’t get robot parts from visiting neighbours anymore? Only the cube things.
I’m in the position where I really want Homers Dream House and I only have 900 robot parts but 18000 future bucks.
I don’t want to send alternate Homers on the task of getting thrown into the black hole because that might stop the production of robots and no more fights to earn robot parts.
What do I do?
It won’t stop the production of robots. Stay on schedule so none go to waste though, and fight at the PolyVac whenever it’s ready.
Thanks for that. I’m not panicking so much now. I don’t think I’ll be able to get 3000 robot parts within the next 2 days, though. Unless I set my alarm for 4am🙄
forgot to clarify that there is the daily maximum but I forget what number that is.
Also on the “futurebucks are useless” bandwagon. Was also erroneously thinking that once I got to the last level, I could use up my futurebucks for items I haven’t gotten yet…now I read that my dreams are dashed…*sigh*
From my point of view the future bucks are useless. I tried hard going to level 19 hoping I will change future bucks for robot parts and buy all demos I like … but now I will have troubles to get at least Homer’s dream house. Now I have 21000 future bucks and not more that 1000 robot parts. I dont know … does anyone use the corversion pack intentionally?
I can’t even get the conversion pack, until I get Homer’s Dream House…so figure that one out! This part just feels like a potential donut suck for those who panic. Me? I’m rationalizing if I even care that much about HDH.
I’ve had a reasonable dig around the site to see if there’s any information on this, but I couldn’t find any. Is there potentially an issue with the future buck conversion pack? I swear I had a starting total of 18079 future bucks, converted 500 robot parts yet still ended up with a total of 18079 future bucks.
What’s the exchange-rate, out of interest?
Thanks a lot in advance. 🙂
I haven’t tried exchanging beyond when I did it for this post. Could be that it didn’t refresh, or could be a bigger issue. You may have to contact EA.
The Future Bucks Conversion Pack simply exchanges robot parts for Future Bucks. Dang it! I won’t do that again.
Needs to be the other way around!
Do you get anything special for maxing out your crafting level? I’m at 18 and I don’t want to spend the robot parts on going to level 19 if I can just save them for Homers house.
That’s what I was looking to do. I hoped the conversion went the other way so I could convert future bucks to get Homer’s house. No luck. Back to saving.
I will be so disappointed if i can’t use future bucks conversion pack to convert future buck into robot parts ……
i havent unlock it yer, but I have a lot of future bucks and missing a few items that still requires robot parts
I spent the money and you can not convert fbucks to parts. You convert robot parts to future bucks.
First of all, thanks a million for this awesome website – TSOAddicts is an invaluable resource!!
Secondly, is there some way to boost the acquisition of Robot Parts? I’m fairly sure that I won’t get enough of them to earn Homer’s Dream House, even though I log in 4 /5 times a day and have rarely missed a login. I can’t quite fathom how some people are already close to earning the final prizes – is there a premium character which earns more Robot Parts?
I’m at the beginning of Level 16 with 650 robot parts in the bank. Is there some way of telling if I’m going to be able to craft Homer’s Dream House before the event ends in 8d 4h from now (according to my current in-game status)?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
You just have to keep plugging away. Not sure if they’re going to add any boosters for Act 3 yet
I’ll be sure to carry on tapping 🙂 Thanks Alissa.
Yeah I keep tapping and I don’t see myself earning enough robot parts to buy homers dream house. I have thousands of future bucks but they seem useless to me at this point. Wish we could turn those in for robot parts
Hope EA creates an option to purchase more than one of the same craftable item in one transaction for Future Bucks. Having to go through the purchase process for each and every holo tulip…when you’re purchasing ~100 holo tulips…is frustrating.
My personal preference is to get as many retro townhouses if you can, for best payout rate amongst buildings.
I’m about a third of the way to Homer’s Dream House now. Kind of annoying that they used Cookie Kwan for tasks at two different items. They really couldn’t find another character to use for the Office Towers?
President Lisa uses one of them..
The game’s description for Atomic Hula Hoop says “Build to help gain 3D printer levels”. What does this mean? Is it really going to help me get through levels faster?
Since it costs as much as 1500 roboparts, I’m leaning towards saving my parts for other things, but… Is it worth it? What’s the best strategy
Not faster. Same rate. It’ll just add to your total for Levels. So it’ll be +1500 on your printer Levels.
Hi. How do I spend the future bucks? I’ve got 5000 but unable to spend
http://tstoaddicts.com/2016/08/17/sci-fi-springfield-101-crafting/
I’m curious….. what level is everyone’s 3D printer on at this point in the game?
Mine says level 16, right now I’m trying to get enough parts so I can craft Tomorrow’s Distinctions.
What the?! I really wish my tablet would stop changing the words I write. Should have been Costingtons not “Distinctions”.
I wanted to add that Mooch Bart also has a 7 hour task at the atomic hula hoop. I also want to say thanks to EA for adding new tasks to characters at the crafting buildings especially characters that don’t get pulled away from quests relating to this event. I would also love to see what people are doing with their buildings and decorations from this event so it can inspire me and others. 🙂 🏙⛲️🏙
Hate the luminescent flowers, thank God I only crafted one, they would look prettier if it was smaller, but 2×2 is just not on. I would NOT RECOMMEND you to buy, save your robot parts for like the atomic hula hoop (already have) or future cossington. (my opinion)
I just noticed this morning that when you go to other neighbours Springfields and tap on robots you no longer get robot parts just Chronons,XP and cash, anyone else know this was coming?
Not a new thing. Since the beginning I have noticed you only get parts from the first 5 or 10 neighbors. Makes no sense and making crafting way too slow. I am worried I will not get everything.
P.S. The site is becoming ginky again. Keeps lagging.
It’s nice that there’s so many items to craft this time around, but I wish the buildings weren’t so big. I don’t mind them being wide, but they’re tall as well, and that means it’s hard to place them without having a lot of surrounding space if you don’t want them to block the view. Thankfully the event isn’t very demanding. I was away on a work assignment for the last two weeks, and only managed to check my account in the morning, before bedtime and maybe sometime around lunch or dinner. I thought I’d miss out Sgt Skinner, but managed to unlock him yesterday and get a round of bonuts as well. Rockstar Maggie as well as the Robo Burns/Smithers combo certainly contributed significantly as well.
Ok, I don’t know if someone already posted this, but I’ll do it here. 😉 I tried a little experiment with the Sci-Fighter mini-game, and discovered I was wrong about my previous post. You DO NOT have to clear the Robots before you play the mini game. I noticed we get about 20 robots an hour. When I go STRAIGHT to the mini game without clearing first, the initial “flash” destroys ALL current Robots in the Town, and you get THEM ALL. I tried this a few times. No need for all that grinding. I hope this helped. 🙂
I dug deeper into your posts and found “Missing Robots”. As usual, you guys are on the ball. Thank you for posting this anyway. 🙂
😀
I don’t understand why people r having trouble completing event.i finished a couple of days ago and am going for my second lot of bonuts. I bought robo burns and smithers which was a good deal. However u get about 500 dark matter bits. I dont own Grimey. I visit other springfields everyday and play probably every couple of hrs. U get bonus matter from daily challenge occasionally. I have found this event no harder to complete then normal. Not like family guy where it is impossible to complete event without spending loads of money. Keep tapping peoples
I’ve gotta say, I’m a little disappointed with the same old event format, but I’m very pleased with the prizes and craft items. The more characters and buildings the better. That’s what I always say.
I’m a day away from getting to level 12, I want to hurry up and craft everything so I can switch up to light tapping and relax the rest of the event!! I’m so excited for the new upcoming items!
Never mind, should of read the last few lines😁.
Any info on future bucks conversion pack out there?
