Should I Spend Donuts On the Elysium Project?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The nerds have invaded Springfield!  Ok just one nerd, and he’s not all that bad.  And only in Springfield can Professor Frink, with the help of Homer, open up a black hole that transports doppelgangers, robots and Stephen Hawking (!) to our pocket sized Springfields!  So time to crack open those hologram wallets, because there’s a store full of multiverse theme premium items to spend our donuts on!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Elysium Project to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this currency earning dome to your Springfield…

menu_scifi_elysiumproject_notification

Building/Decoration: Elysium Project
Donut Price: 110 Donuts
Earns: 100 ico_cur_scifi2016_darkmatter_lg, 15xp/4hrs, should switch the Act 2 and 3 currency when they hit
Size: 9×9
Conform-O-Meter: Tree-Hugging +400

Leaves stores when Event Ends

Pros:
-Earns event currency/4hrs.
-Rev. Lovejoy has a task there (Cross the Firmament, 10hrs, Earns $525,135xp) (Rocker Maggie and Disco Stu also have 10hr tasks there)
-Looks awesome when animated, each hex panel lights up various colors.  And the white lights outside also light up

Cons:
-Expensive.
-Doesn’t earn enough ico_cur_scifi2016_darkmatter_lg to justify the price. (At 100 ico_cur_scifi2016_darkmatter_lg/4hrs..assuming you clear it 5 times/day, that’s only 500ico_cur_scifi2016_darkmatter_lg/day.  There are less than 30 days left to the event, but even if there were 30 days left..that’s 15,000ico_cur_scifi2016_darkmatter_lg.  Really a poor return for spending 110 donuts. (even if that translates 100% to bonus games, that’s only 5 attempts and at most 15 donuts))
-No questline with it.  Yes, Lovejoy will have a task there and that will popup to complete.  But there is no dialogue with it.

Final Thought:
Premium:
I don’t know why but I like this one.  Not because of the ico_cur_scifi2016_darkmatter_lg earning potential…I like it because of it’s look and it’s animation.  I would say Premium players, if you’re looking for a fun decoration for a multiverse area of your town you may want to pick this one up.  It looks good, and Lovejoy does have a task there.

Freemium:
Stay away.  Even if you’re struggling with earning ico_cur_scifi2016_darkmatter_lg, it’s just not worth those hard earned donuts.  Save them for a character/building combo…or something else cooler down the line. (and remember Halloween will be here before you know it)

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you I’ll probably be picking this one up, just because I like the aesthetics of it.  Of course whatever you decide just remember this is limited time and will be leaving our games when the event ends.  So if you’re thinking about grabbing it, do it very soon before it’s gone for good!  And of course, because this earns event currency…the earlier you get it the better.  This way you can get the most benefit out of it.

What are your thoughts on the Elysium Project?  Have you purchased it? What was your reasoning behind picking it up? Where have you placed it in your Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. OMG! I love this building! Animated by Rev. Lovejoy, there is nothing cooler! I know I’m late to the parade on this one, (just bought it today), but to me it was worth every freemium bonut I’ve spent many months earning! Way better then robot Burns and his pet boy Smithers (I personally find the limited outdoor actions pretty disappointing for those two). This Elysium Project building makes everything better. I have literally drained my battery just admiring it in action (clearly I need a real life). 😜

  2. Has anyone noticed that the style and the artwork above the awning of the entrance to the building is the same as the awning that you get for upgrading a SH resort to level 2? Kinda nice if you want to add some (little bit) of flora and a flashy entrance to the Elysium Project. It’s not quite high enough but because the artwork matches it looks pretty cool…at least I think so. Will also improve the EP if you want to spruce it up with exotic plants, a pond or two and those luminescent flowers… Creates a futuristic zen-like temple vibe. 😀

Disappeared from the store! Are we only allowed to have the one? I have a very elaborately laid out town and wanted to group these, getting two more…it’s a one-off, Evidently? Check out my town at leslie landberg

  4. Pass for me… My eyes are on practicality. I need those ” tele*******” might have to pass on Frinks lady. Not enough donuts… And with Hallooween coming up sighz…

  5. I got it although I’m playing mostly freemium… it looks so cool! I wish we had the sun go down at night in our games, I bet it would look awesome.

  6. I saw it on the cover picture going into the game and wanted it and that it changes colours while in use clinched the deal! I too like the look of it. 😊

  7. “Save them for a character/building combo…or something else cooler down the line. (and remember Halloween will be here before you know it)”

And this is why I truly rely on you guys so much, but not the only reason i enjoy the site. It’s those friendly reminders not to waste donuts that are a life saver. I was really considering this one too and through other posts seeing how I’m doing in the event, I should make the last act prize before it ends if I continue the grind. Thanks again!!!

  8. I had some doughnuts, so I bought it. Nice to have, and helps spiffy up my future world part of town.

  9. Durnit. I didn’t want to spend any more this event, but this thing was too pretty. Perfect with my botanical gardens and a couple fancy igloos.

  10. I guess this would help me and 90% of my Neighboreenos actually earn all of the Act One Prizes – but it’s proof that EA wants you to spend Donuts (real $) to do so!!

I’m fine Crafting Freemiums (an I think EA needs to lower the amount of Dark Matter required)

  11. I bought it right away based on looks. Was expensive but way too col to pass up!

  12. I put luminescent flowers around mine to make it look even prettier. Really is a nice building to look at especially when it’s animated.

  13. So pretty!

  14. My building will not animate. Any suggestions?

  15. Got it, love it.

  16. I always think it’s a bit silly when people buy things for event currency but this is one of the coolest buildings/decorations in the game. Great animation.

  17. this has quickly become my favorite building in the game when animated. ✨🎇🎆

  18. It’s soooooooooo pretty!

  19. Glad to hear someone else already has Halloween on the brain! Started TSTO in November so caught Xmas but not Halloween, really looking forward to picking up some of the awesome decorations I see in other people’s towns! As for the Elysium Project it’s a pass for me.

  20. Tempting just for the tree hugging bonus

  21. I kind of want it because I love 10 hour tasks. I put fat Tony in the hot tub before I go to work and I speed up the last hour when I get home. Love the premium payout as well.

    • I hear ya! Gotta luv those 10hr tasks 😁

    • I often do this too! Tony pretty much lives in the hot tub in my town. I love the 10 hr tasks. I’m always sending whomever I can to eat at the buffet which is also 10 hrs if you have the Up & Away Buffet. The casino event brought us some 10 hr tasks too. I think I’m going to have to get this for the tasks & animation. 🎉RachelS

  22. I bought it, and just like you said it was for its looks…not for its usefulness in the current event. I figure if i’ve got a westworld, I should have a futureworld near by and this is a great addition to that futureworld 🙂

  23. I bought it. Not because I need the dark matter (I’m doing just fine with the prize track) but because I saw it lit up in a friend’s town and it’s gorgeous. I love the roof tiles cycling through colours but the finer optic filament flowers are my favourite part. Lovejoy has a new permanent task :). I put it in my Monsarno campus and it looks great – like an extension of the research building. Must be where all that GMO stuff stakes place.

  24. It looks so cool, but I have to remember that I’m a freemium player and I can’t afford to spend donuts on fancy buildings 😛

  25. Event currency is fairly easy to come by, as long as you play every 4 hours at least 3 times a day. So this isn’t needed but of course I have it to help. It’ll most likely go to storage after the event. What I’d really like to see is something to generate more robot parts. The crafting is slow going. And again, I don’t really want anything out of those prizes either, I just have to get worthless digital items or my family dies.

    • if it’s not needed for the event currency, and you likely intend to store it once the event is over, the question begs to be asked… why did you even waste donuts on it in the first place??

  26. Josephine Kick@$$

It’s shiny and pretty and glows pretty colors… mine 😂😂😂

  27. Have some premium buildings got the one to get Rockstar Maggie as could not resist, and she helps to earn, but giving this one a miss, as stated to expencive.
