Sci-Fi Prize Guide: Act 2, Prize 5 Cryo Stasis Memorial

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The nerds have invaded Springfield!  Ok just one nerd, and he’s not all that bad.  And only in Springfield can Professor Frink, with the help of Homer, open up a black hole that transports doppelgangers, robots and Stephen Hawking (!) to our pocket sized Springfields! This multiverse event hit our devices and it’s full of alternate universe inspired decorations, buildings & characters!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the Second Act you’re tasked with collecting Chronons (ico_cur_scifi2016_time_lg) to unlock each prize!

The fifth Act 2 Prize awarded at 23,900 ico_cur_scifi2016_time_lg is the Cryo Stasis Memorial, because the future is cold, especially for Grampa…

So let’s take a closer look at this fifth prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…

Once you’ve collected 23,900 ico_cur_scifi2016_time_lg you’ll automatically be awarded the Cryo Stasis Memorial and you’ll see this message popup:

And you’ll have an option to place or store it for later.  Remember if you store it you’ll have to go into your inventory later to retrieve it.

The Cryo Stasis Memorial does come with a questline, one that will help you earn more ico_cur_scifi2016_time_lg.  Here’s a look at the questline:

Cryogenics Pt. 1
Grampa starts

Grampa: I’m moving?
Homer: That’s right.  Welcome to your futuristic new home!
Grampa: This cryogenic chamber is tiny and cold!  Although still much larger and warmer than my room at the retirement castle.
Homer: Enjoy your “nap”.  Hey, I wonder if the light will stay on when I close the door.
Grampa: Wake me in the year 1984 so I can see the future!
Make Grampa Rest in a Cryo Chamber- 10hrs, Earns 33, 90xp

Cryogenics Pt. 1
Jasper starts

Jasper: Where ya been, Abe?  We missed you at the pill swap.
Grampa: I got a great new place!  It has a soothing fluorescent hum and an airtight lid.
Jasper: Sounds great! Do they have any vacancies?
Grampa: No, but if we defrost Walt Disney you can take his chamber.
Make Grampa Rest in a Cryo Chamber- 10hrs, Earns 33, 90xp

  1. I also had this event trigger recently, but do not have Jasper to complete. Came in sometime around the beginning of Thanksgiving events 2017. I did earn the building in the 2016 event, but I still don’t have Jasper. I am in the 175 level range.

  2. This is one of the best Prizes for this Event (crafting Buildings has been more rewarding – except now I need more land due to their size). I’ll be lucky if I get President Lisa (complete Act Two) – not enough Robots spawned, too many network errors when visiting Neighboreenos, zero bonus Chronons spawned from Daily Bonus Task – and (for me) complaining to EA didn’t solve anything …. 🙁

I do appreciate all of the Freemiums – especially Stephen Hawking – but for the most part? ThisEvent has been “meh” (for me) because all you can do is login every 4 hours, then tap for 5 minutes …. 🙁

I really hope Halloween 2016 is a nice payoff (I will take quality vs quantity) …

  3. The quest line for the cryochamber has not triggered for me.
Is it cos I don’t have jasper?

  4. I also came here to figure out why I rarely get robots walking my town. Has this been covered yet? Thanks.

    • I’ve tried to report this to EA and was eventually advised to report on their forum – which I did. I’ve heard nothing back. The fault is intermittent for me. I’ve had 4 occasions on returning to my game to play the PolyVac game, there should have been c80 robots in my town and there was literally 1. A loss of 320 robots and the rewards they would have given.

  5. A query that’s slightly off topic but not sure where else to write it. I’ve just unlocked President Lisa and I’m wondering, is it worth holding off doing her tasks in case she collects the new matter in Act 3? I unlocked Sgt Skinner right at the end of Act 1 and so he collected chronons when it changed to Act 2….

    • Ac 3 is a few days away…you can always “pause” her questline. So go for it.

    • It’s a great idea, and one I forgot to implement until after I had completed her first two tasks – argh! I think I was just so excited when I got her that I forgot to hold off. At least I finally did remember, but the task I’m currently “pausing” could very well be the last one in her questline. Oh, well… #virtualworldproblems

    • I’ve finished all her tasks. Now she isn’t earning chronons anymore 🙁 So pause her tasks, as Patric suggests.

  6. In past events the premium items retuned in the last act . Do we know if the Robot Burns and Smithers Dog will be returning for purchase in the final act? Really hate I missed that combo .

  7. I think jasper and grandpa overlap each other if both are using the building. I like that we can see them inside though.

  8. One other thing that I have noticed…I get maybe 4 robots a day spawning in my town. Between that and the constant neighbor crashes, its no wonder I am not going to be close to getting all the prizes

  9. This is my favourite building in the event so far. I love the fact that you can see Grandpa and Jasper inside whilst on their tasks 🙂

  10. Fwiw the timing of this building and the pink “Human Test Subject” seemed completely off. I bought one just to see what the heck it was, and didn’t recognize the connection until I got this building five days later (and as I recall by that time you could no longer purchase them). Not a big deal, but it all seemed rather odd.

    Scott

  11. Excuse my ignorance but is Jasper a premium character ?

  12. Oh I remember this game… M

  13. I agree with Ogie Gamer. Having the same problem.

  14. Is anybody else becoming concerned about obtaining everything from the 3D printer? I am currently Level 14 on the printer, and the Robot Parts don’t seem to be accumulating very quickly!
Looking ahead, many of the remaining 3D printer items require copious amounts of robot parts!!!!! Should I be concerned?

  15. I only wish that those purple people-storage tubes we got ages ago were a bit more in scale with this. But I think I’ll use a couple of those to flank this building, once I’ve finished getting all of the buildings and decorations from this event and am ready to start designing my Future World!

  16. I have the Kwik-E-Mart from LEGO. Jasper has a place Apu’s deep freezer 🙂

    • that is not a cheap set by any means. respect for legoing like a boss. 👊

      • If you do a Google search with “MOCS Simpsons” you’ll more Springfield buildings made ou of LEGO. I highly respect those people who build them from scratch. I only follow the building instructions from the set.

    • I always look at the simpsons and kiwi Lego sets longingly at a Lego shop. But can’t part with the money to get it. In fact I don’t own any Lego. I own a cowboy carriage from playmobil though. Hence I like the wild wild west event.

  17. I should unlock it today, can’t wait.

  18. I was ready to write this one off as my least favorite prize until I saw Grampas’ task there. Then I saw Jaspers’ and it is now literally one of my favorite buildings.

I have always wanted the visual task for Jasper in the Kwik-E-Mart freezer. This will definitely do!
