Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
It’s that time…calling all Springfield designs of Futuristic Proportions! We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff featuring your Sci-Fi/Future inspired designs! So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!
Now that we’re winding down Act 2 of the Sci-Fi event , it’s time to showoff your towns. So send us your Sci-Fi inspired deigns and we’ll be putting up the Showoff post, featuring your designs, on SATURDAY September 17th…so you’ve got over a week to prep your towns. Take your time and design as you see fit! 🙂
So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8pm EDT Friday September 16th. Can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.
You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.
Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots. We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images. Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too). We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two. If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week. You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page. We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme. Remember, this isn’t a contest. There’s nothing to win. It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts. 🙂

I would like to try my hand at stitching 5-6 pics together. I hate d/l a bunch of apps just to find 1 decent one that works. I’ve got a Samsung Tab-E that I play on, can anyone recommend a good program that isn’t too technical? Thank you in advance for any advice 😊

I too would lIke to sign the ‘extend the showoff deadline’ petition. I have never even wanted to participate in one before but love this event and have been looking forward to being a part of the show off. Even if there isn’t much coming in act 3, how can people be expected to have fully completed designs without having all the items? Maybe consider extending it just a few days?
Does anyone know what to do with all the future bucks? Seems like they are a total waste to gain with nothing I can use them towards
Use future bucks to craft more items once you can no longer use Robot Parts to create them. And yes, as someone who hates repeating buildings, O agree the future bucks are worthless!
They’re used to buy more of an item that you’ve already made the maximum number of “demos” of.

My first attempt at auto stitching photos on my phone after transferring the pics from the iPad and then pasting them back again didn’t turn out too bad to be fair hope you guys like what I’ve done using the new stretch of land at the top of my Springfield, one or two adjustments to come in the next few weeks of more SciFi stuff but this is how it stands at the moment.

Nice stitching! What app did you use? I run iOS and have no idea how to stitch photos, but I have always (since following this blog) wanted to.
Hi doorman005 I used an app called Autostitich made by Cloudburst research on my iphone 3GS (old phone I know)I tried to get it for my ipad but its not available for that or even the mac books, stupid omission on apples part if you ask me so I took screen grabs of my ipad then uploaded them to Flickr downloaded them from Flickr to my iphone did the autostitch then re uploaded the whole thing back to Flickr again (convoluted or WHAT!!!) seems the Autostitch app is no longer available in the UK on the appstore for some reason, its been bought out by Google so maybe that’s why its not around any more. its a pity though its the best one I’ve found in years.
I’ve added and updated version with bigger and better resolution and stitching here.

Does anyone hire out for town design! Because I would totally pay someone a reasonable fee to organize my dumpster fire of a town… It’s so big now and I have so much crap I’m overwhelmed!!

Wouldn’t it make more sense to wait till act 3 ends? What with all the new content yet to be added (I’ll actually be away next week, so I don’t think I’ll have time to prep anything)… and I think a lot of people will wait until the end of the event to craft everything they want, no? Just sayin’ 🙂
Looking into my crystal ball, there isn’t much coming with Act 3..and it’s only 1 week long. So this will be like 3 days before Act 3 ends. Don’t want to wait too long, because Halloween is lurking… 😉

I was about to make the same comment as nitramz, since I had been planning to wait until Act 3 was over to start designing my Future World. Do you really think they’ll start the Halloween event that early? If this one ends a week from Tuesday, then it would still be 6 weeks until Oct. 31!
This is the second time recently where I was a bit disappointed in the timing of the show-off….that it seemed too soon. I mean, I trust you if you say there’s not really any new buildings or decorations coming with Act 3 (even premium ones?), but would it really be a problem if we waited another week for the show-off?
Of course, if we’re in the minority for wanting to wait, feel free to ignore my comment!
I’ll see how many come in. So far you’re the only 2 complaining about the timing. But if not many submissions come in by the middle of the week I’ll see about extending it.
Halloween will likely hit the first week of October. But remember we also have a season premiere before that and likely a tie-in.

Only 1 week long?? Dammit! I hope they also make it easier to obtain event currency, otherwise I’ll hardly be able to get any of the act 3 prizes, since I’ll be out of town for the whole week…

I third the motion of extending the showoff til after act 3. I havent done anything with my future buildings yet because i was waiting to collect all the items first, especially since it looks like I’ll have thousands of future bucks left over to craft more items.
