Sci-Fi Event Is Nearing the End…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just a reminder that the Sci-Fi Event Ends TOMORROW September 20th.

BUT just because the timer is running out doesn’t mean the Event will immediately leave your Springfield.  It will take an App Store Update to remove the Event from our towns.  And it’s likely that update won’t hit until later in the day on Tuesday.

However, as we’ve been seeing with the last few events, it’s entirely possible that once the timer runs out you’ll most likely no longer be able to earn Act 3 Prizes or Craft Act 3 items for free.  So to be safe, get everything you can before it’s gone!

Also, the premium items WILL be leaving the stores when the timer runs out.  Those are on a specific timer and will leave the store when their timer runs down.  So if there’s a premium item you want grab it before it’s gone.

As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event…

bse_scifi_threepanel

Well, we can’t know… until it is over. Lol. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.

Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…

  • Questlines linked directly to the progression of the Event will go. Like the Main Questlines that pulled you through all 3 Acts.
  • However, the questlines linked directly the the prizes you’ve won (or character you purchased) will remain. (so President Lisa, Mooch Bart etc.)
  • The event removal will require an app store update to fully remove it from your game.  So don’t panic when the timer runs down and the event isn’t out of your game…  It will require an app store update to remove everything.  Usually those hit around 12-2pm (ET)

I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of collection as far as you can. If you turn OFF the auto update feature in your App Market, you may give yourself an extra day or so just know that ANY time after the 20th is borrowed time and you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. EA can force the update at anytime after and make you update. So use any extra time wisely and get what you need before you have to remove the Event completely.

I would however caution you…that when the last couple of events  ended (i.e. the timer ran out), remember you could no longer collect event currency to earn the prizes for free.

So tap those last few robots and relax and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.

Oh and for those asking what I think, I’ve said this a few times.  I think we’ll see a Season 28 Premiere Episode Tie-In this week (since the Season Premiere is set for Sunday) and that will be followed by Halloween.  (there may be a Gil deal in there too since you’ve got 2 weeks till October starts…but we’ll see)

Remember the items with timers on them will also leave our stores…so if there’s a character or item you’re thinking about buying…do it today before it’s gone!

And that’s it!  Nothing to do now but sit back, relax and wait for the next big thing…

What were your overall thoughts on the Sci-Fi Event?  Happy to see it go?  Ready for what’s next?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Haters gonna hate .. I loved the event 😘 go ea go

  2. I’m surprised at all the hate for Future Bucks…it was pretty clear what they were from the outset – a form of bonus currency so you could get a wide range of stuff while still getting lots of extra of the ones you really like.

I played Scifighter 3-4 times a day during the event, mostly 3 times. I had no problem getting all the prizes and almost all the demos done – I only did one each of the floating car and floating bench, but otherwise did them all, to the point that by the last week of the event Future Bucks were more useful than robot parts. Did people use lots of robot parts for just upgrading levels? During most events I’d figure the problem would be because the tappers were new, but this event wouldn’t seem to privilege long-time tappers at all. And Scifighter meant that you didn’t need to be in the game constantly to collect the necessary robots. So yeah, weird.

    • Yea, I used up all my future bucks on a huge apartment complex of those retro townhouses…. Earlier while playing with the collider, I got a lot of XP by buying huge gobs of those Venus vacation billboards (ok, I like the pretty colors…. And the floating). Nothing else appealed.

I’m hoping I can finish up the questline for evil homer, who just got tossed/pulled into the wormhole with regular homer. Since they do it at the black hole, I don’t think it can be done if the event stuff is gone. Or is the black hole permanent? So long ago, can’t remember. Black hole pulling at me, memory dimming, vision blurring, gaaaaahhhh!!!! …..

  3. As time runs down, what are your thoughts on Homer’s Dream House? Worth 100 donuts? I won’t be able to earn it with robot parts.

  4. The sci-fi event was just OK. A lot of useless junk. Also it was the grindiest, hardest event since Whacking day or that Easter event (you know the one). Liked the mini-game at first but too many repetitions. This is the first event since the aforementioned Easter event that I haven’t unlocked everything. I’ll give it a “C”.

  5. Count me as another one who wanted the parts-bucks exchange to go both ways, though I’ve at least been happy blowing the future bucks on retro townhouses.

  6. Everyone’s complaining and im sitting here like this event was awesome!!! U crafted a lot of Retro Houses, office buildings, mushroom offices, domicile etc. In the beginning you were to use robot parts to craft items you want. I think some people used the robot parts to upgrade. If you used the robot parts to upgrade and not craft what you want then, oh well its only a game!let’s be grateful that we can actually play this game! There’s many people who would be glad to have food and water…yep TSTO is only a game…so Halloween anyone?!

  7. So for the first time during Act 3 I was offered Robot parts (now that I don’t need them). For once, I would have liked some FBs! I swapped it out hoping for a cheeky donut but got crafting for pharmaceuticals in SH…..¡No gracias! That’s why irl I never gamble😂. I’m still smiling tho. I have Rockstar Maggie, President Lisa & Stephen Hawking in my SF so all is still well in my tapping world😎……💜X

  8. Well, I had visions of the dream house being aquatic, but I missed out on it in favour of crafting out the retro town houses and flying cars, then spending 18000 future bucks creating a big farm of dome-icicles. I got all the characters, got some great deals, have Stephen Freakin’ Hawkins in game and really enjoyed the dialog. Overall, I give the event an A-. I’m a happy tapper.

  9. Will the Status Quo quest disappear? Only just unlocked.

  10. Definitely disappointed about the future bucks and robot parts ratio. I was also hoping that the future bucks conversion would let me convert bucks into robot parts or something more useful…but sadly I was greatly disappointed and now there is no hope of meeting the deadline to get homers dream home 🙁
Other than that I thought it was a pretty cool event. I liked that the sci-fighter gradually became more challenging to play and wasn’t as slow as it was in the beginning.

  11. Very frustrated that I have over 17,000 useless future bucks, but haven’t been able to get enough robot parts to unlock all the craft items.

  12. Is Evil Homer a playable character? I have him but when I tap him he just the evil mwahaha and twirls his mustache.

  13. Disappointed.
I was soooo excited about this event in the beggining, but the crafting system (many bucks, no parts) and the hard acts1&2 with the short and boring act3 made it one of the worst events, for me :/
(And they should bring more in game currency items, like a few decorations items each act, the shop becomes boring with only donuts stuff)

  14. Future Bucks. . . I wanted the final craftable, which means I have few items I’ve finished demos for. 19000 or so Bucks remain. I cannot afford all of the demos. Phooey

  15. Future bucks are bad.

You have to have enough robot parts to craft as many demos as needed to allow future bucks to be worth anything on an item you might want…

I have over 20000 and can only craft plants and street lights…

    No thanks EA

  16. I will say that the last 3 prizes of this act are utter crap, one of them has a task and the other 2 are pointless decorations.

  17. Kind of glad this is finally over. Sitting on 4,000 robot parts and 24,000 future bucks that I have no intention of using. Already crafted more stuff than I really want. Not a terrible event, but dragged on way too long.

On a positive note, yesterday, for the first time since I started playing, I have unlocked all the land and water squares in Springfield, Springfield Heights, and Krustyland. I can finally start to build up some money.

  18. Well, that’s ok. The Halloween Event is right around the corner. This Event made a great addition to the NASA/Zenith City portion of my Springfield. Now I’m looking to expand my Spooky Forrest Section of my town. ( I already have Kamp Crusty, lots of trees, Lake Springfield, Cemeteries- both people and pet, Ancient Ruins Maze, lots of trees, Republican Party HQ, Stonecutter Lodge and various other creepy and spooky items…oh, and lots of trees) This Event is always my favorite. 🙂

  19. If I’ve learned anything from this event, it’s that in the future, everything will hover or will have a holo version of itself.

  20. Just got a round of bonuts. Now, can I get another 3000 antimatter before the clock runs out?

  21. In my game the timer sqid it will end at 11 am us et

  22. Hello all. I completed act 3 early and had a round of bonuts. My question is about crafting. I may have done it wrong as completed most of the demos but didn’t reach the high prizes like tomorrow’s costington or homer’s dream house. With about 12 hrs to go I won’t reach the robot pieces needed to get them. I would need 12 donuts for costingtons but 62 fit the dream house. Are either of these worthy getting with donuts? Which one would it be better? Thank you

  23. I was kind of bummed that in my B game, I missed the two full characters of Acts 1 and 2 and finished Act 3 early enough to get two rounds of Bonuts. The timing just seemed really off for this event. I did enjoy the deals tho, as I was able to snag several premium characters. My B game is freemium, so that was excellent. Again tho…all that extra help earning and still missed Sargent Skinner and President Lisa.

  24. I relly dont understand the requirement of Future Bucks. Ive struggled to get one of each of the items in the whole sci fi event and thats about it. ive got 20k of future bucks which are potentially worthless.

  25. Great event, except for act 3 which was extremely anticlimactic. I’m glad it was short and easier than the other two.

  26. I have a few things to say, and I’m sure I will receive a few nasty-grams from those of you who think I’m being too negative (Patric?)

I liked the event, and I liked most of the prizes. I like my new Future World section of my town. BUT……As I’ve said before- I’m getting bored with the event formula. Three acts. Tap Meanies. Craft stuff. Some addicts have made the same observation/criticism, and in a way, the older events- with the simpler formula- were perhaps more fun.

When I was a new player (I started playing during the Stone Cutter event) every new event was new and exciting. But the events have become so predictable that the events have lost some of the excitement. There’s got to be a new formula that the EA designers can think of, don’t you think?

Please don’t get me wrong. I still love playing the game, and I’m grateful for all of the stuff that I’m able to earn for free (and buy with doughnuts) during the events. I’m still and addict (Patric says I’m a TOT), and I don’t see me quitting the game anytime soon.

So go ahead and start throwing the hate mail at me. It’s OK. I can take it.

    • lol I think your opinion is in line with A LOT of Addicts… no hate mail here 🙂 I actually agree with you. Hoping Halloween will show some new event format…that’s usually when they introduce new elements to events.

    • Even though I loved this event, I agree with you for the most part. But I think they’ve been throwing little wrinkles and side things in each event to make them different which I’ve liked. The Polyvac here, villain fights the last event, the casino games, etc …

I only started tapping around Superheroes I so I’m not sure what the past was like, but do agree, they’ve kinda fallen into a basic pattern. But they have shown a sense to change things around in other aspects, so I’m kinda expecting them to put a twist on the basic pattern before too long.

    • Agree 100%…..really hoping for a new event format!!

      • Yes! I think some Addicts are getting weary of the formula. I really liked the Event theme, it was great. But the formula is getting a little stale. I got to say, I didn’t use ANY of my Future Bucks in this event, (only when needed). There was just too many Bucks to buy too many items that I will never use. Maybe if there wasn’t an item cap, maybe. But just getting the Demos with robot parts was enough in itself. 28+ grand in Future Bucks, and nothing in the Demos that I want a lot of.

    • Anyone who threw hate at you would be pathetic, you can’t hate someone for having an opinion.

I’m sick and tired of the same formula and I regularly look forward to the mini events because it feels a bit different and you can take your time.

I will say that the last 3 prizes of this act are utter crap, one of them has a task and the other 2 are pointless decorations.

    • I didn’t hate this event but it wasn’t my favorite either, other than that I completely agree with you. The same ol’ , same ol’ event formula sucks a lot of fun and mystery out of an event.

    • I agree with you 100%…nowadays I see we have a new event and it’s more of a ok let’s do this cuz I’m addicted to the game…but more forced than willing to play it…whereas before I felt like the events were a bit shorter, simpler, but exciting…I’ve been playing practically since they came out with the game and remember being excited, waiting for Halloween to come along to see what kind of event, then a minor thanksgiving then xmas…valentine’s day…my favorite was wacking day event…then a break in the summer which led to the anticipation of another event…
my best part was being able to interact with my neighbors, I help them and they help me…they have stopped doing that…or in the stone cutters event where each day they gave us a new question and we had to send that character to do the task…
