It’s time for another post in our “Art of TSTO” Series. This time we’re taking a look at night mode.
Ever wonder what our pocket-sized Springfields would look like if TSTO had a night mode? Come on I know you have, who hasn’t?!
Our good friend Toxicshark has once again taken to photoshop to do some amazing, and detailed, work exploring that TSTO would like with night mode. After seeing a few awesome shots from Toxic I knew it was time for another Art of TSTO post.
So I asked Toxic to send me some of his favorites and I’d feature them here at Addicts. And here’s a collection of what he sent…
Note: Night mode is NOT a feature in TSTO. All of these photos were created in Photoshop to give the illusion of Night mode…

And of course you can’t have Springfield at night without the Simpson’s House!
I really love the perspective of TSTO at night and I hope, one day, EA adds a night mode to TSTO. Of course I doubt it will happen, but I can still hold out hope 🙂

If this would be added hopefully they would make so it becomes same time as day and night in real life so it wouldn’t just come randomly and at night time you can put ur characters on 8hr task to sleep and characters without houses can sleep in brown house?
I would love it if we had an automatic transition that went to night during night hours. Maybe if you’re assigning tasks at night, your waking up characters.
This would be a great expansion.
Weather would also be nice too, just some random rainy, cloudy, windy days.
very cool I loved when they did it for the Halloween update a few years ago, can quite remember what it looked like but was hoping they would do it every Halloween,
Wow this needs to be a thing. Like maybe a manuall thing to tap to make it night or just able to identify your location and time of day but that would probably be way too difficult.

Awesome work Toxic. I think the closes to night we get is during Halloween updates. If we have to pay to get a night option, I would buy it in a heart beat as long it’s no more than $5.

The images are truly heart throbbing…I mean who wouldn’t want their Springfield lit up with the allure of a night life throughout. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make a decision as to which one was my favorite because I liked them all. Now that we’ve seen it, what do we have to do as addicts to get it? Futuristic wise of course.
These are amazing! What a talent! I enjoyed them all, but the pool lit up behind the Simpson’s house really caught my eye. Also really impressed by all the little lights on the water overpasses and the way the artist made the Aztec theater pop. Hopefully these convince EA to bring night to Springfield 🙂
Just noticed how pretty the stained glass windows look lit up in the church. Also like how Duffman is doing his thing out front. Guess he got kicked out of choir practice 😉
There was a dialog teaser around last Christmas so I think we’ll see it someday. The teaser mentioned a device to block the sun, a who shot Mr Burns event?

Love it! I agree with jjleigh73 the casino area would be awesome at night, too. I even enjoyed last Halloween when the city darkened just a bit!
Thank you to all…I will work on some Vegas shots and the new sci-fi ones..EA could implement a 12 hour day/night cycle
That’s so cool. I was just thinking about that. I would love something that simulated your time zone. At the very least the Haloween event should be in night mode right? W can dream can’t we?
