Ok so it’s fall, and it still feels completely like summer (at least here in New Jersey) BUT…the last part is true. There’s a whole new season of TV shows…and the Simpsons Season 28 starts this Sunday! To celebrate the Season Premiere EA has launched a fun Episode Tie-In Mini Event in our games..something to gear us up for Sunday. So bust open those wallets, because there’s a store full of premiums just waiting for you!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Retro Lard Lad and Laird Ladd to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this pink donut shop to your Springfield…

Pros:
-Premium character (earns 50% more on all cash and XP) with a full set of tasks and questline.
-Laird will help earn more

-Retro Lard Lad is a neat and unique looking building, adds a fun pop of color
-120 donuts is a decent price for a character/building combo
Cons:
-Very short questline, only 3 parts.
-Not voiced
-Retro Lard Lad is fairly large in size..and really how many Donut Shops does 1 Springfield need?

I think this is a good premium buy. 120 donuts is an ok price to pay for a character/building combo. He has some fun tasks and Retro Lard Lad looks cool. So Premium players I think you should pick this one up…
Freemium
On the Freemium end of things, this is going to be one of those if you like it grab it. It’s an ok price, but it’s not at a must buy price. And Halloween will be coming up very soon. So evaluate how many donuts you have and if you really like this combo If you like it and still have a decent stash for Halloween grab it, otherwise pass and save those donuts for Halloween….
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And I can tell you I already own it. I got it as soon as it hit the store…I really liked it and thought it was a decent price for the combo. Of course whatever you decide just remember this is limited time and will be leaving our games very soon (October 4th). So if you’re thinking about grabbing it, do it very soon before it’s gone for good!

Hey guys, I’m still relatively new to this game (started a few days ago) and I absolutely love it. I got tied into this storyline and didnt realize there actually were storylines in this game (thought it was like most other games where you only build and collect) so I would appreciate a bit of guidance.
It started with the small square building, and after getting more gift cards, i unlocked moe’s fancy brewery joint, and now just unlocked the covered facade on the little gray building, which I’m assuming is the new lard lad? I want to know what’s because it sort of slipped past me in the beginning.
And my follow up question to that is: if I buy the retro lard lad bldg, does it generate gift cards regularly that I can collect like the cash and xp? That’s honestly the only motivation I have to get it, since dedicating most of my characters to collecting gift cards is making things very slow.

Nope, it only generates gift cards via Laiird Ladd’s tasks to get them.
As someone who really likes Art Deco, I couldn’t resist. It sure beats the regular Lard Lard.
I have placed it right next to the new lard lads and normal lard lads which looks cool as it is as if they are all fighting for business
Great buy. Old lard lad isn’t def better then new lard lad.
I personally love he retro one more then the ones that were able to be bought or won in the game before.
Like in real life, some buildings have lost their luster or artistic vision in place of cold hearted fast money grabbing. Just a highly well oiled machine with no love or real care for the people. Just take the consumers wealth as fast a step possible. Heh.

I bought it because I love the building. It’s nice that it comes with a character, too, but the building is just fabulous.

At a stay in an English B&B, every thing in the house was kitsch, pink and 🌹, but it was done with taste, that I really liked it!

I usually spend doughnuts on characters I know and am fond of, but I bought this one immediately. The Art Deco design of the building is attractive and looks nice in my Springfield. It reminds me of old McDonald’s stores and Publix supermarkets. Plus, I’m developing a desire for limited-time characters. Every time I scroll through the list of regular characters I don’t have, I think, “Maybe next time.”
Bit short of donuts, got 85, will see when I get nearer the 120
Thank you for SIB, I was on the fence but decided to go for it! I love the pink donuts and old timey diner look, and Ladd’s pink overalls are cute to boot! It completes the mascot character set btw 😉

I bought it right away, and love it. It looks great in my town, and I think it was a reasonable price for a character/building combo.
I’m so annoyed an hour before this mini-event was released I spent all my donuts on Rancho Relaxo and then I saw it and really wanted it. I’m on 3 donuts now so I have no chance xD
Does anyone know the total dollar amount for all the premium items that have been offered since the beginning? I’m kind of curious/scared considering I have most!

Gonna buy some donuts tomorrow and make a row of Lard Lads. Lard Lad with Winter 2014 facade, new Lard Lad, and retro Lard Lad, as well as any more different Lard Lad facades I might get in the future.
Maybe you could line them up in a way that makes it look like the history of Lard Led (so, like, start with the retro one and end with whichever facade looks the most modern).
I’m tempted, but I already blew 200 donuts on getting my bonus percentage up another 100% with the Beach Hideaway and upgrades…
