As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we find ourselves sometimes forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to. So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU. So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small. Brag about it to the world. We want you to. With the Sci-Fi Event now over, I thought now would be a good time to take a look at what everyone did with all that stuff. Wow! There is some really neat stuff here. I was particularly struck by two. @canid88: Your use of resort pieces to make Homer’s Dream House look like it’s underwater was really clever! And @magnus: I love the way you incorporated that Itchy and Scratchy thingy into a drive-in theater! That, plus your other 3-D section, is amazing!

I had to store the majority of my sci-fi buildings cause I just do not have the room to make quite the right theme just yet without it looking too cramped.
I will definitely come back to this post to be inspired when the time is right.

Everyone did an amazing job, Magnus use of turning into a drive in is so inventive since I’ve been pinning away for a drive in movie theater forever now!! I’m just sad I didn’t see this post sooner so I could show off what I did with my Itchy & Scratchy hologram theater. Well there’s always next event! 😀 it will be my first Halloween so of course I’m excited!

What amazing town’s you guy’s have, you can clearly see a lot of work & effort gone into your town’s. Just about to start my sci-fi/western area just been unloading everything out into the area where im building it so hopefully i might get mine done in the next day or two. Just amazing guy’s well done to all!
There’s some great stuff in there but so many to look through…. Is there any chance of you guys picking your favourite 3? Or 3 that you think are particularly inventive? 🙂
Every time one of these Showoff posts are done I’m always left in awe buy what others have created, left inspired by all the design ideas, and left wondering “why the heck my brain can’t come up with and awesome idea like you guys”! 😉
WOW, chaostheory7777, just…wow!! It is like a place for everything and everything in its place.
magnus – I’ve seen made movie theaters, but yours brings a smile to my face. It is perfect with the animated Itchy and Scratchy.
michaeljc – Simple yet beautifully done. It is easy to get wowed by big elaborate designs, but I think people miss seeing these little “simple” scenes that are great jems in their own right.

Like yours Canid88. I would have never thought to combine some of the Heights decor with this event. Good job.
Wish I had something good to show, but everything is too squished together right now. It will be a couple of events that give us more land before I can rearrange things to the way that I want. My Sprinfield is kinda full with the way I have things. Maybe for Halloween. I’m sure there will be new things that I can add to the existing Halloween areas I have.
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it! I was a bit miffed when I found out that Homers underwater house couldn’t go *in* the water. So I racked my brains to come with some way to make it look like it was in water. For a while I’ve wanted to make something cool with all the fish tank pieces but nothing ever stuck, until now. This was one of those light bulb moments.

On a separate note, I notice that, for many of these, you really have to tap on the picture and see it in more detail to really get a proper look. My submission, for example, has a lot of smaller details that get lost without a note close-up view.

I wanted to explain my submission as it is probably the most boring to all who enjoyed the sci-fi event.
Unfortunately, the event really wasn’t for me. Most of the items don’t mesh well in my town. But one great thing did happen with the event. The second tunnel glitch. I happily opened up some land and move my Springfield Mountain into the range. Placed the observatory in SH’s to appear to be atop the mountains. Sent Frink on a task there for a little extra flare. I left the only thing I liked from the event. The retro apartments. Added some SH’S facade and called it a day.
Hope you enjoy the simplicity all though I know you probably won’t.

Great designs. Particularly like future designs without roads. As Doc Brown says at the very end of Back To The Future, “Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads.”
