Totbox’s Throwback Thursday: S2 E10 Bart Gets Hit by a Car

There I was minding my own business when Alissa came to me and said “You Better Write Another Throwback Post or Else!!” I quivered in my innocence and quickly got to work. …OK, that’s not what really happened (good thing I’m not under oath) but if Lionel Hutz was my lawyer that’s what I might say.

I plead the 5th regarding what was the first trial or lawsuit or even Lawyer in history out of fear of litigation. Who, what and where is still debated and that means the Jury’s still out on that one. :p

I have seen some interesting cases (during my time travels), witch trails, monkey trials, even a trail where the guy pretended he couldn’t put on a glove.. (What was his last name? oh never mind). There have been lots of trials. I rest my case… Wait, not yet, I have Exhibit B (for Bart) when this alleged incident occurred:

“Bart Gets Hit by a Car”

What the Heck happened to Bart? Only his new found Lawyer can say (or tell Bart what to say)

Bart has a Near Death Experience. The first found Medical recording of a NDE was in 1740 (Maybe the other earlier doctors died, before writing it down?). Philosopher Plato wrote about the phenomenon. I know I wont change any minds here and that’s not my purpose, so enough of all that, I’m sure you’re dieing to read on with the post. The 23rd episode, Season 2 Episode 10, January 10th 1991.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING:

Blue Haired Lawyer, and Dr. Nick Riviera.

There are also characters and items that appeared for the first time that Could come into TSTO in the future maybe. OH THE POSSIBILITIES:

Some previously requested Characters: LIONEL HUTZ (come on EA, get your lawyers and make this happen), also the devil (though there are multiple variations of “the devil” in the series, this was the first).

Possible NPCs: Snowball 1

Possible Decorations: Happy (handholding) Critters, Luv1 (Burn’s fantasy car), Burns’ Evil (fantasy) Limo, church on a cloud, purple pirate ship on a cloud, And “CLOTH STORE” (I’m serious), “cloth store” it’s the Worst Building Ever! so bad that I want it. It’s not a “Clothes store”, it’s not a “Clothing store”, it’s a “Cloth Store” LOL. (There are other poorly named stores in this episode but this Wins)

Possible Skins: Bart in a wheelchair (but I think the one of him in a “MilPool” cast would be better)

Possible Events: Heck of a Good event (as mentioned in https://tstoaddicts.com/2016/06/07/totboxs-throwback-tuesday-s1-e4-theres-no-disgrace-like-home/ ), maybe a Burns’ Limo (Hitting Kids) mini-game.

Characters and Things I didn’t mention because I personally have no interest in them joining the game Don’t Mention It: Aunt Hortense (assumably from Marge’s family tree), Great Grandpa Simpson (not sure if he is the one being choked or the one Choking the younger one), Bizarre Hell Creatures, other lawyers and court room people, other Moe’s Tavern patrons, Della (Hutz’s secretary), City Sewer Worker (and other people/pedestrians on the town), Hospital staff and patients (though I still want Jacques), power plant employees, and other buildings “Books”, “Hardware”, Sushi Yes, Mort’s Deli.

some Highlights:

Some other things to think about:

This is Phil Hartman’s first episode and other sites have credited him as the Voice of God (in this episode), though Phil Hartman’s voice is awesome, I think they were referring to him being the voice what I call “instruction guide” heard during the Stairway to Heaven ride/journey.

Why wasn’t Smithers driving Mr. Burns?

Dr. Hibbert went to Johns Hopkins Medical School (which is in Baltimore, Maryland) which Homer seems unimpressed by.

Now, I know I’m not going to convince anyone about Judge Snyder changing his name or having a lighter skinned doppelgänger (that has the same profession in the same town), so I’m going to put the blame on the bailiff who may have mistaken Judge Roy Snyder for some other judge named Multon.

In the collage below (at the upper left of Marge with white pearls) you see Jacques, you also see two men between the long necked woman (I don’t want to over use the word doppelgänger but I don’t think that is Barney Gumble and Know that isn’t Skinner even if it is his outfit). Also in that same frame is a Seal (town seal) with a big star on it.. Is this a fictional location of where Springfield is? (I wrote this before Patric’s post about the inspired locale)

Mr. Burns claims all he cares about is the animals heads (so this must be before his Vest and woredrobe obsession). The Yankees won the pendent in 1996 (who would have thought the devil would have bad information?). Lionel Hutz office and Dr. Nicks office is just two doors down from each other, in the same mall/plaza. And Finally some Groening fans might recognize the two fez hatted fellas, whom can be seen in the background.

Do you remember this episode? What was your favorite moment? Any of the Possibilities that you Really do/don’t like? Do you believe in Heaven and/or Hell? Do you still listen to heavy metal music? Ever have (or know someone whose had) a Near Death Experience? Have you ever sued or been sued by someone that you can legally share? Can you imagine a world without lawyers? Sound off in the comments and have an innocent journey back to your current space/time 🙂

…And yes I realized I left out some other pointless information and observations, so sue me. :p

  1. “maybe a Burns’ Limo (Hitting Kids) mini-game.”

Yeah, I can’t possibly see anything wrong with that being included.

  2. OM(PH)! 😇
I reread these things numberous times before sending off to Alissa yet still I found a mistake. I said “other sites created* him (Phil Hartman) as the voice of God” — when I meant to say credited*

  3. Well I’m glad this posts spacing worked out (the previous throwback – had some WordPress error, or Alissa claims – I need her to say it under oath though) 😛

  4. @Tot: Just an FYI, pleading the Fifth, only works with Government Officials, although many say it, it has no meaning unless the question is Government related, and then, only in the States, as far as I know we don’t have a “fifth” here in Canada 😀 At least that was according to an article I read just yesterday on things that are misunderstood by the general public. Whether said info is right or not, if it is wrong, I plead the fifth 😀
