It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Something strange happened to my anonymous game. It was copied over by my main game. Now I have a clone of my main game. EA works in mysterious ways 🙂
I dont know where else to post this so I will just voice my concerns here.
I have been a regular visitor to the blog and I understand that with the recent Christmas update of the game things are starting to get out of hand and narurally it is not desired and it cant be allowed people to openly insult each other or their beliefs / religions.
But I am concerned how it is starting to rund down now. Each day I come back now, it seems that the blog is tring to inflamate the voices agains the update and silence the ones who disagree.
Last drop was the new “Help Our TSTO Addicts Community Send a “Holiday Greeting Message to EA”
To me the whole post while it has walid points it still reeks of: agree or shut the **** ** …
I agree that the staff is tring to take measures against the hate posts which is right, they shouldnt be here, there shouldnt be anyone, not during Christmas time, not EVER.
But I dont think this is an approriate way of doing things.
Sorry about the criticism, in all honesty I dont know a right way how to handle the mess that EA has thrown the game and this blog into … but the current course of actions just dont sit right with me.
Patience. Everyone will get a chance. It’s a petition for those who are upset. You wouldn’t sign a petition if you didn’t agree with it right? Trust me. Just have a little patience

I was redecorating some areas of my town and storing some items etc and by chance I found out that the street cleaner can now be stored! 😀 then when I placed it again out of my storage box it didn’t go to the dirt road, it stayed on the normal road. Yay 🐱🌟🌸
I just noticed that when you place something out of storage and you use your last item it goes into buy mode straight away.

Jays up 2 games to 0 after back-to-back wins in Texas, with the series heading to Toronto.
Don’t want to get too excited because the exact opposite happened last year with Texas winning the first two games in Toronto, before heading home and losing two at home and then coming back to Toronto and losing the epic fifth game in Toronto.

Was wondering if anyone knows what happened to the other Simpsons Tapped Out forum? Not the one @ EA – it was a stand alone one that featured walk thrus and a bugs and issues thread where people could post solutions.
Had a tab open to it for the longest time and it (and the site) suddenly disappeared! Cant even find it in my history which is REALLY odd
Doesnt really matter that much – found the info that I was looking for here (MAG Points) but now Im curious.

Haha! I dont think my impulsiveness will allow me to save that long. But i will try! Do they give credit for $10? Im almost there maybe a day or two. I can hardly wait…gonna get the gingerbread house!!!!!
Every time you amass $10 of credit, you can trade it in for a $10 iTunes or Amazon gift card (depending on the device you put the app on). I exercised *great* self-control to let that iTunes balance build up past $100…before, I never made it past $50 (and usually $20) before I’d cash in for donuts. If I were earning Amazon credits, I probably wouldn’t be able to bring myself to spend $100 to get the boatload, because the opportunity cost would be too big; but, with iTunes credits, it’s much easier, because I don’t really have anything else I want to buy from iTunes anyway.
When I first started playing, I never would have dreamed that I’d spend real money on a little app game, but they’ve sucked me in nicely and I’ve spent a lot more cash on it than I ever would have thought. (Somehow, it’s easier to do in drips and drabs.) A few weeks ago I got a $10 Amazon gift card, and it all went into buying Scratch-Rs, which I never thought I would do, because a tray is a better deal, but I just decided to have fun and take a chance for once. I ended up netting one donut less than I would have had I bought the tray, but it was worth the lost donut for the fun! I might not do that again, though, since I was actually lucky to have done as well as I did, given the odds…

Sandra, I get booted from so many surveys, it takes me forever to get the money! I stopped trying for a while cause all I was getting was the 10¢ credit for trying! I was actually thinking how does Sandra get to complete so many surveys?! What am I doing wrong? Do you read a lot of magazines, lol?
I was getting those magazine surveys too. Then it started finding surveys for me. Its finds like 4 per day. In 5 days i made $17.00
Got my first $10.00 and about to get another $10.00 maybe tomorrow…
Woo hoo! I was able to earn a bunch of donuts from the rail yard/daily challenges/ neighbors/ Maggie, AND I went back to Quick Thoughts and earned $10! Donuts for me, donuts for free! All of the things are mine! Better start farming now for act 2!

I can’t believe it’s October already! I pulled my in-game halloween decorations out of storage yesterday a couple hours before the event hit and bought some land to expand my halloween zone from last year and hopefully get a little design going (design? In MY town? Now there’s a first). Really looking forward to what this event has in store, but keeping my expectations to a minimum, in hopes of being pleasantly surprised.
Things have been busy for me at school lately but I’m really enjoying it so far. I’m trying to get involved with as many clubs as possible to pack as much into my last year of high school as I can. Choir started today, drama auditions are next week, and I’ll be aiming to join reach for the top and HOSA (maybe) at some point as well. I also started tutoring on Tuesday and it went really well 🙂 I’m starting to look at universities as well and already have a huge stack of booklets to mull over if I get some free time, but the priority is balancing school with my health at the moment and making sure that I don’t burn myself out. It’s both a blessing and a curse that I love school and want to do everything lol.
Finally, I’ve gotta say that I LOVE your Anger socks Alissa! Have you seen the new Toy Story line of vans coming out this week yet? I definitely want to try to get a pair, they look sooooo cool!

I’ll do my best to pace myself haha 🙂 I should technically be in university now, but chronic illness and a long hospitalization during my actual senior year (2015) caused me to go back part time last year and again this year to get my remaining 5 credits. But I don’t mind because I’ve been at the same school since kindergarten and absolutely adore it there.

Bit of an update…
Rearranged a new, and finally, “Halloween” district next to Old West Springfield. I’ve tried to centre a design around the One Week Studio, I figure that at the end of the day, these “districts” could be film sets, like the adjacent Space Centre 😉
Looks like we’re going to get a forest worth of dead trees, and various rundown and ramshackle buildings, and after getting over the cobblestone purchase, and moving my prior Halloween buildings (Burns Patented Soul Extractor, which is the Magnifying Glass / Wailing Walls / Lisa’s Fireplace combo and my Abandoned Mansion 😉 I’ve shuffled enough to stop wailing 🙂

Hey, neighboreenos and anyone else who’s seeing this…I need your help!
I’m finally planning to join the rest of the world and get a smartphone. I want an unlocked one, since I’ll probably be going with a discount service of some kind (I’d love to stick with Verizon Wireless, which I’ve been with for over 15 years, at least, but they’re too expensive, I think). And I don’t want to pay more than $399, and would actually prefer to spend more like $250 – $299 (less would be okay, too 😉 ). I don’t want something much over 5″, as I have tablets for that and I want my phone to be easy to use with one hand and not take up much room in my purse (or whatever). And, of course, I want something that’s capable of playing TSTO, in a pinch! Oh, and I want an Android phone.
So, do any of you have any recommendations for me, either in terms of what I should consider getting and/or what I should avoid getting? Or any other kinds of advice that I should keep in mind while doing my research on this? Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!
I know you want a android though I would say I have been with Verizon about the same amount of time & recently upgraded to the iPhone 6 plus & love it. Cheaper now the 7 is out. You might look at it & good luck. Once you have a smart phone hard to return to the alternative.
I don’t think I can get a decent iPhone at my price point. Also, an Android phone would allow me to sideload stuff from Google Play onto my Kindle. But thanks for taking the time to respond! 🙂
I still have a Samsung Galaxy S1 as my “work” phone, my “current” handset is a Galaxy S3, that’s what I TSTO on (because that’s THE most important thing :). I know this may sound like a Samsung fan, but for office products seamless communication is key, no matter the brand you choose.
I should also point out I have a Samsung laptop, purely used for work purposes, and a Samsung colour laser MFC, and they all seamlessly wirelessly (??!?) communicate with Android and Google…

I am a big fan of Samsung as well. I loved my S3 and just upgraded to a 7, but I tap on my Tab E.
I bought an unlocked IPhone 5s for 125.00 on ebay…was in like new condition, does everything I need including TSTO (Mostly play on my iPad), so I am super happy with it. My sister liked it so much, she bought one too. Just be sure to check feedback ratings of the seller and I recommend using a Paypal acct so you are always covered if you aren’t happy with the purchase. Actually, the iPad came from Ebay also, never had any problems with either of them. Good hunting.

I’m actually planning to go Android, not just for cost reasons, but so I can use the Google Play store (and be able to side load apps to my Kindle that the Amazon app store doesn’t have), among other reasons.
A thought here. I’m very pleased with the OEM farming post. My next request is this. A plan for a day of donut farming frenzy such as this one.
Schedule every character for their longest task to all finish at the same time. Build all the aspirational buildings, and as many KEMs as you can fit in your town, but don’t tick until the xp collider is started. Start collider and then keep building KEMs and farming after four hours until you run out of money or the day of xp collider runs out.
There are many more Tapped Out savvy people on here. So can anyone tell me a way of making my plan even better.
If you’re only gonna run the collider for one day, and you don’t mind using up your cash, then you might want to do some rat trap farming. Also, after you do your initial character collection from their 24-hour tasks, soften the day sending characters on the shortest tasks you can handle, since shorter tasks have a higher rate of return per second. (In other words, you get more for four 1-hour tasks than you do for one 4-hour task.) If you’re really willing to be tied to your device doing nothing else, find the characters with the 6-second tasks and send them on those over and over again.
Also, don’t forget your neighbor visits…assuming that you’ve gotten silk of the friendship prizes already, you get triple the XP and cash for your neighbor visits. And, of course, play the cauldron and sci-fighter games, too.
