It’s Halloween in our pocket-size Springfields! Yes that magical time of the year when our towns turn dark, our water becomes mucky, there are monsters everywhere to battle and (as with all events) there are LOADS of items from Halloweens past to spend those sprinkles on!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Halloween Flashback Bundle 1 or Suzanne the Witch to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these throwbacks to your Springfield…
Leaves Stores October 15th
Items: Flashback Bundle 1
Contains: Ghost Pirate Airship, Mausoleum & Ghost Zapper
Donut Cost: 185 Donuts, originally these were 370 donuts (if purchased previously and indivdually) so this is a massive discounted price.
Bonus %: Airship earns 5%, Zapper earns 2.75%- so 7.75% combined
Earns: Airship, $135, 15xp/4hrs. Mausoleum, $200, 22xp/8hrs. (Zapper does not earn cash/xp)
What Do They Do: For the most part they just sit and look pretty…they DO NOT, I repeat they DO NOT, provide any benefit for this event. At least at this time.
Should I Buy Posts: Ghost Pirate Airship, Mausoleum & Ghost Zapper
My Opinion On them Now: It’s a good price, but really the only thing in there I like and would buy again is the Airship. I own all three items already (from previous events)…the Airship i just think is cool, the mausoleum sits in my graveyard section of my town…and the Zapper. Well I have no idea where my Zapper is honestly.
The Zapper was helpful when it came out, as it was used to zap flying ghosts. But now, meh. It just sits there and does nothing.
So what I would say is this…if you have the donuts and you really want this stuff go for it. Because nothing I say is going to change your mind anyway. BUT to everyone else…I’ll remind you it’s only week 1 of the event. There’s still LOADS of time left…and lots of these flashback bundles to come. The first one is a little underwhelming, so I’d save my donuts for something better….

Character: Suzanne the Witch
Building: Gingerbread House
Cost: 140 donuts
Earns: Gingerbread House earns $300, 30xp/24hrs, for the 2016 Halloween Event Suzanne will earn Event Currency (50/4hrs for her Training Task..). Suzanne, not the house earns the currency.
Should I Buy Post: Suzanne the Witch
My Opinion On Her Now: I own her, i got her in 2013 for free as a prize from that year’s Halloween. I never use her. I often forget she’s in my Springfield. And for her best task (Cast Wicked Spells) you’ll need Homer.
However, she does provide a benefit for this event with her 4hr task. But to me that donut price doesn’t justify the 140 donut price tag. So unless you’ve really been wanting her for a while, I’d pass.

I think this event is geared towards newer players. Most of the items being offered I already have and the items I do not have are bundled with things I do. I wish you could still by the bundle even if you have something in it. Just leave the thing you own out. Just like the mystery Jack-o-lantern.
Absolutely. It’s one thing to miss out on a good deal, like the cat lady/ iguana lady bundle, it’s something else to be purposefully excluded from content because you’ve bought a unique item in the past. They need to make bundled items available to faithful players.
Are you sure Suzanne & the gingerbread house were free back then? I don’t have them & I have just about every freebie you can get. I have been playing since June or July 2012. I don’t remember them being free.

Suzanne the Witch actually has 2 tasks that earn event currency (filmstrips). in addition to the 4 hour task that shows up under her own task menu, if you go to the Fight Monster section of the event hub, she can also be used to fight monsters. Both tasks are 4 hours, but the task under her own menu only pays 50 filmstrips, while the Fight Monster tasks pays 150 filmstrips, so it’s the better option. This also helps to keep the other characters that can fight monsters free for other things, like the Rail Yard.
MODERATORS – I just realized I mixed up Witch Suzanne with Crazy Cat/Iguana Lady. With Suzanne does not have the 4 hour Monster Fight task – it’s Crazy Cat/Iguana Lady that has that task. Please just delete/don’t post my erroneous comment, or this one. Thanks! And sorry!
I hadn’t realised that Suzanne the Witch earned event currency and although I’ve already got her I haven’t been sending her on relevant tasks – which other characters (who aren’t involved in monster fights or trick or treating) also earn event currency?

Suzanne the Witch, Space Mutant, Booberella & Vampire (?) Burns all earn the 50 event currency. I think that’s what this skin of Burns’ is called; it could be something else though, I can’t exactly remember.
And, I want the Ghost Ship, but have the other items, so I haven’t decided what to do yet! 😬 RachelS
I have kinda wanted all these things for a while. I didn’t have the donuts for them last year, but I went ahead this year. (Funny enough, the thing I actually wanted most was the ghost zapper, because I’ve always thought tesla coils were neat. I put it with Frink’s lab.)
I still have enough for Boobarella if she returns, so I’m good.
Would be nice if there was a task list for Suzanne the Witch and The Gingerbread House.
Ghost Zapper looks good in any Futureland you made with last event. Wish you could use it to zap those rat things 🙁
Kind of disappointed if you already have the majority of the bundle, they don’t have the Ghost Zapper on sale on its own, at least they don’t yet, maybe later down the road? Not sure if it does much, but still kinda wanted it for my Frink area
I agree – it’s unfair to older players with all but the Ghost Zapper. I hope they offer it later in the event; they occasionally return items to the store before the event ends.
Any bundle of items should automatically offer individual items (especially unique items) to players who already have any of the other bundle items.
What are your thoughts on Kodos? Just showed up today.
