It’s Halloween in our pocket-size Springfields! Yes that magical time of the year when our towns turn dark, our water becomes mucky and there are monsters everywhere to battle. Just like October in every other suburban town in America, no?
The Halloween Event is in full swing on our devices and it’s full of creepy decorations, buildings and characters…all designed to get us into the Halloween spirit!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Film Strips (
) to unlock each prize!
The fourth Act 1 Prize is awarded at 20,400 is the Burns Family Crypt, because why wouldn’t Springfield’s oldest citizen have a family Crypt just waiting for him to jump in…
So let’s take a closer look at this fourth prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 20,400 you’ll automatically be awarded the Crypt and you’ll see this message popup:
And you’ll have the option to place it in your Springfield immediately or store it in your inventory for later. Remember if you store it you’ll have to go back into your inventory to retrieve it.
Once placed a little bit of dialogue pops up between Smithers and Mr. Burns, but that’s it. No questline (other than the initial one telling you to unlock it) and nothing to help you earn more …just unlock the prize and move on.
Here are some quick facts about the Crypt:
Size: 6×4
Build Time: 4hrs
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +200
Earns: $300, 30xp/24hrs
MAG Points: Earns 180 
when built.
What Does it Do?: Earns money….and Mr. Burns has a 4hr task there (Sweep Some Dust, Leave the Rest. Earns $175, 45xp)

Hello, I hastily skipped through the Burns family crypt dialogue but then I thought I missed something important: It looked like the dialogue said that now some further tasks are available. Did it only refer to Mr. Burns’ task at the crypt? And, if I already have Count Burns (love him) and can have him his 4h task for film rolls, is the new Mr. Burns task equal in the payout of film rolls? I mean, is it the same amount of film rolls, whether I choose to have Count Burns his 4h task (at the building where also Suzanne the witch has her film rolls task) or to have Mr. Burns have his new crypt task?
Another question, do you have any idea if Booberella will be made available again? When she was in the previous years, I found her expensive, but she oftentimes helps with Halloween events so next time I might get her (and she’s a horror icon, so if I have ebemiugh) enough donuts…).

Is anyone locked out of their game? Or is it just me. It won’t accept my password. Tried to change it but nothing happens. Tried contacting EA?!? Waiting on them. My timer just went off! I need to get in there! 😫😖😩😭😭😭😭😤😡😥😱😱
I just got locked out of my B-Springfield with the same error message.
Same thing happened to me last week. I put in a help ticket, did all their troubleshooting stuff. I got a call back immediately. Then the rep said she needed to validate one more thing and that she’d call back right away. She never did. FIVE whole days being locked out of my account, and I put in many unreturned phone and chat requests. I finally found their corporate # and got someone to let me in to my account. They never apologized or issued apology donuts for the FIVE days of lost game time. Hope you have better luck.
I’ve been tapping like mad to get to level 7 so I could get the pyre’s. I had the perfect place for several of them. I was very excited then a bit surprised at how Big they are. They’re 3×3, the wood is as tall as a transporter and the Very Cool flame rises the same amount. The area I was going to put them is can handle 3, maybe 4. But I’ll still get a lot of them so I have options later on. And iron fences of course.
I know we’re not at that area yet but I have a question about the gate(s) we get as a prize. I’m not that crazy about the last two (won’t fit in my town perspective) so do I stop playing the event when I get to the one I like or does the gate have the ability to scroll back and forth?
You can scroll back. I already got one upgrade and I can go back to the original.
Why are they making it such a grind to get the obols? I play alot , and I am still struggling, must be impossible for people who cant play as much. I dont need to craft everything bc I played the last two THOH , I think at this rate a newer player wont even be able to craft 1 of everything. 😑
You need Obils to craft. Craft gives you MAG points which allow you to advance through the prizes and get small Obol packs and other characters to Trick or Treat and get more Obols.
All I can tell you is that as you get higher prizes, you get more Mag points. The Space Marshmallow yields 540 Mag points. And my Daily task of clicking 60 mutants gave me 350 films. Which puts e very close to the Space M which will give me enough Mags to get me my next character. And the nxt priz is 100 Obols.
A lot of math, but eventually, diligently, you can do it.
Yes! it is an exponential system when counting obols. However, I do agree it is a bit of a grind and SLOW moving to get these obols and the only down side to an otherwise perfect event. 🎃😆
Doesn’t matter how you look at it, crafting Obols is a very slow process.
My game finally fixed my monster spawning glitch. After 8 hours, I now get more than two monsters. However, I am no longer authorized to purchase from the app store. I was yesterday, but not today. Not sure if I should complain because it forces me not to spend real money on the game. Back to freemium!
I’m working on the first Small Obol Pack today, do you think i have a chance to get the Space Marshmallow still?
It moves pretty quick…as long as you’re diligent about tapping the next 5 days there’s a chance.

The last event we had in TSTO (throughout August and early Sept) was Sci-Fi (the one with Stephen Hawking)

I keep reading about the tasks that are related to the buildings on here. I didn’t know that: not of the Bell Tower, not of this one… Goes to send Mr. Burns on his way…
It’s too bad that buildings don’t have task lists showing who can do what there. I miss, or forget about, these “special tasks” all the time, especially since I usually use the unemployment office, which generally sends characters on the same “default” tasks.
I agree – for the “special” tasks (like Booberella, Space Mutant, Count Burns, and Suzanne the Witch at the MAG Office, I wish you could tap the building and send them from there. Same with other similar buildings and tasks. And while we’re at it – EA! Special tasks like that for characters during events should be VISUAL. I didn’t get these cool characters (especially Count Burns) to never see him during the entire event. I know that other people see them when visiting because the game randomly puts them on an outdoor task, but that doesn’t help ME to enjoy MY town during the event.
Yes, I forgot about them too. If they have a mini-quest of sending someone on the task, you will at least know there is a task related to the building.
What I would love is to be able to set a ‘favorite’ task, per character.
“Oh, all of xyz’s tasks are indoors, except for an awesome 24hr outdoor task? Sure, just let me set that as my favorite task for that character, since I never need/use him elsewhere.”

It’s been about a year since I’ve started playing. I joined at the end of the Halloween event last year. I’m pretty amped to get all the prizes this year. Especially the grim reaper. I hope he’s an actual character and not just a mascot type like evil homer was.

I’ve got to finish getting out the posts that are crunched by time (i.e. they end when Act 1 ends, or there’s a timer under them) then I’ll work on crafting. Fortunately crafting will remain for the whole event.
