We present to you TSTO Addicts’ Best THOH Segment Bracket Battle.
Below you’ll find all 81 beloved THOH segments that will have aired in the first 600 episodes of The Simpsons up to and including this seasons’ THOH XXVII. The segments have been organized into three conferences based on their sequential appearance in each THOH anthology: first, second, or third segment. The segments will battle each other in four rounds of head-to-head-to-head matchups, that we hope produce the most debate in the comments below. We’ll do our best to convince you of each segments’ merits, but it’s ultimately up to you. Twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays over the next three weeks, we’ll post the matchups and your votes over the next 48 hours will determine which segments advance to the next round, until we’ve crowned “The Best THOH Segment” on Monday October 31st.

Part 1 of Round 1 was full of some great matchups. With over 12,000 votes cast in 48 hours, we had some landslide decisions and some close ones. We had our closest vote ever in a Bracket Battle; with The Genesis Tub beating House of Whacks by a mere 13 votes. Now without further ado, a recap of the results of the first nine matchups:

Oh, boo. I guess I missed the poll close. 48 hrs is too short. 🙁 My heart’s not in it anyway. I’m gutted that House of Whacks is out of the running. Not sure it was the best THOH of all time, but definitely deserved to win round 1…

Man, why do you have to let the best segments face each other right away? The Shinning & Reaper Madness, the 50 foot eyesores & send in the clones, Homer³ and Hibbert’s island… it’s so hard to choose!
It’s going to be hard for some of the newer segments to beat the classic segments going forward, but I was glad Desperately Xeeking Xena made it pas the first round.
I didn’t get to watch many of these episodes. Such a pity.
If you haven’t guessed by my constant nags for us to get giant mascots in our games, Attack of the 50 foot eyesores was one of my favourite segments (might knock my previous #3 down).
Homer³ was a weak plot but the 3D aspect was a huge breakthrough of that time and I like it because of the many maths references (MITS).
If you like math references, you should read (if you haven’t already) “The Simpsons and their Mathematical Secrets”. It has all the math references in both the Simpsons and Futurama. Just goes to show how much more intelligent “The Simpsons” are compared to that other show that I won’t mention here.
I have read it multiple times. Love it
I have a soft spot for old CGI work, so while I wasn’t a big fan of Homer³, it does get a few points for being animated by Pacific Data Images.

First round definitely felt harder choices-sad to see night of the dolphin go. And I did vote for the grand Pumpkin but because of the quote you featured always makes me laugh outloud. “All pumpkins are racist….” Good to see Nelson call him out on it☺️. Fantastic work on this trip down memory lane!
Island of Dr Hibbert was the only one i voted other than #1. I hated Homer3.
Apparently my strategy with these is vote for the oldest segment. Those apparently are always my favorites.
