Should I Spend Donuts On THOH Flashback Bundle #2 or the Spooky Wall?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s Halloween in our pocket-size Springfields!  Yes that magical time of the year when our towns turn dark, our water becomes mucky, there are monsters everywhere to battle and (as with all events) there are LOADS of items from Halloweens past to spend those sprinkles on!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Halloween Flashback Bundle 2 or the Spooky Wall to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these throwbacks to your Springfield…

Items: Flashback Bundle 1..Versions 1 and 2
Contains: Version 1 : Gate to Nowhere, Light-up Elder God, Star Spawn, Tentacle Tree and Wavy-arm Elder God.
Version 2: Gate to Nowhere, Light-up Elder God, Tentacle Tree and Wavy-arm Elder God.
Donut Cost: Version 1: 85 Donuts.  Version 2: 65 Donuts.
Bonus %: Lightup Elder God- 1%; Tentacle Tree- 1%; Wavy-arm Elder God- .5%.  S0 2.5% combined.
Earns: Gate to Nowhere earns $300,30xp/24hrs
What Do They Do: For the most part they just sit and look pretty (for those wonder Star Spawn is an NPC…so it’s a character but no tasks associated with it.  it’ll just roam Springfield)…they DO NOT, I repeat they DO NOT, provide any benefit for this event.  At least at this time.
Should I Buy Posts: Gate to NowhereLightup Elder God & Wavy-Arm Elder God; Tentacle Tree
My Opinion On them Now:  Meh.  These bundles are quite a bundle underwhelming in my opinion.  Honestly I’d pass now (and I passed on them last year too).
Save your donuts for something better…remember we’re only about 1/2 way through.  More is coming…

Item: Spooky Wall
Cost:  1 donuts
Bonus %: 0.05%
Previous Should I Buy Post: Spooky Wall
My Opinion On It Now: Take it or leave it.  It’s the Picket Fence of Halloween.  If you’ve got decorating to do grab some.  But if not…pass.  The bonus % is average in the game. (40 Walls…40 dounts…yields a 2% bonus).  I’ve got a few in my Springfield…because I like the look.  So it’s a if you like it/have a use for it…grab a few.

And there you have it my friends, the breakdown on the two latest returning premium items to hit our stores.

What are your thoughts on the Flashback Bundle or Spooky Wall?  Do you own either of them already?  Will you be purchasing them this year?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Should I get the skeleton dude for 25 D’s
Is it worth it does it do anything

  2. I hate these bundles!!! It feels like a ripoff to people who already bought some of the items. I was not even able to get the first one because I already had the ghost ship despite the fact that I didn’t have the ghost zapper but since the ship is a unique item I was not even given the option to get the ghost zapper. And I really want the Springfield cemetery that’s going to be released with the 3rd one but since I already have the bad dream house, which is a unique item, I doubt I’ll even get the option. Grrrr!!!

  3. I agree it is boring. The star spawn is kind of cool. The rest of the stuff is bad to me.

  4. I would like a couple of those tentacle trees. I wish they sold separately then I would buy them cause I have everything else in this bundle and have no need for duplicates. I don’t remember the trees being in last years Halloween Event

  5. Me three. Wish the tentacle tree was separate.

  6. I’m still waiting to hear back from EA on what happened to the Star Spawn back when it was offered after THOH it appeared in for us to tap I got with donuts and has mysteriously disappeared from my Springfield. So far, no response and it is showing up as buyable in the package in the store.

    Grumbles

  7. Thank you so much for takeing time to talk about the flashback bundle#2.
I am new and too poor to buy donuts. I have been able to save almost 600 donuts over a long period of time with the purpose of being able to have fun buying cool stuff during halloween. I did however buy Dr Colossus with Death Mountain just before the THOH started…and I am very glad I did…Very Cool!!
    Thank you again.
    Take care

  8. I’m surprised the gate to nowhere isn’t unique. (At least, I’m presuming it’s not unique since I can see this bundle.) I don’t have use for so many repeats, though.

  9. I was looking forward to the Gate to Nowhere. It was the only item I missed out on last year. Act 1 final prize. It looks great when in use. If it were offered alone, I’d get it. There are too many other things coming later in the event to spend so many donuts at this time. Maybe next year?

  10. I’m so happy the walls are back as single purchase. I have a bunch from the past, used them in my graveyard but I was I think 3 walls short of what I wanted to do. I’ll happily spend 3 donuts to finish the layout.

  11. I didn’t even notice the spooky walls were back! I’ll have to give those some thought….

  12. Any Gil’s deals in the work for Halloween this year?

  13. I like the spooky wall got a few got the rest last year would be nice to have more items that are special items

  14. I’m a very busy 🐝 bonutifying 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩 my enormous stack of game cash, so I have bought all of the offered things in the shop.

  15. Having just grabbed Kang and Kodos the gate is kind of intriguing but have no interest in the rest of the stuff. It’s a hard pass from me. I’d be interested to see how many people actually bite on this for 85 donuts.

  16. I had to remind myself why I have so many spooky walls…last Halloween, EA made them craftable, as well as the wailing walls.

  17. They should let us buy the tentacle trees alone.

  18. I’d buy the tentacle tree by itself (passed on it last time), but not the bundle. I already have the gate (which isn’t all that exciting anyway), the npc is kind of meh, and the elder god decorations (both kinds) drop from the chili game randomly.

I’ve got lots of stone walls from last year that are mostly hidden in my town, so I’ll pass on those as well.

Even though I’m passing I like seeing old items returning. Looking forward to the next ones.

  19. The Gate to Nowhere has a 10-hour “Take a Break from Reality” task for Kang and Kodos. The gate lights up when in use.

  20. I have no intention of spending my hard-earned donuts on this, since i already have several of these items and can live without the others.

What I do wonder, seeing as I already have the Gate to Nowhere from last Halloween but am still offered this bundle — is the gate not a unique item? If I were to buy the bundle would I get another one, or just the items I didn’t already have and/or aren’t unique?

  21. The bundle is very boring. I instantly got flashback bundle #1 though
