It’s Halloween in our pocket-size Springfields! Yes that magical time of the year when our towns turn dark, our water becomes mucky and there are monsters everywhere to battle. And not to be outdone…Ol’ Gil has returned to town peddling his latest deal.
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Blinky Monster to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this three-eyed monster to your Springfield…
So you may have seen Ol’ Gil roaming around your Springfield on Friday (or today)…here’s what he’s offering up this time
Gil: Oh boy, have I got a great place for you. It’s a fixer upper but honestly, aren’t we all? Which reminds me, my upper teeth need fixing. The only downside of eating cardboard sandwiches. If you buy it, that would be really swell. Which reminds me, my leg is swelling. I cut my socks off every night and sew’em on in the morning! So…deal?

Gil: You don’t want it? I already washed my hands for the handshake! Those pay toilets aren’t cheap you know! I’m not throwing in the towel yet. Partly ’cause I don’t own a towel. I try myself off with Xmas wrapping paper – it’s half off in January!

Gil: Woo-hoo! I’ve finally unloaded that scary old place! Gil closed a deal! Which reminds me, I have a wound that won’t close.

Premium
I know that there are a bunch of Premium players out there that love Characters…so no matter what I say you’re going to spend your donuts on this one..simply because it’s a character.
However, for the premium players out there that are more restrictive in what they buy..whether it’s a character or not..I’d pass on this one. It’s WAY over priced for what it is/does. And the added value for Monster Fights is unnecssary..as there are plenty of characters that can battle Monster already.
Freemium
Stay away. Stay far, far away from this one. It’s WAY over priced and adds zero value to Springfield. Save the donuts for something else and skip Blinky…
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And I can tell you as a premium player, I’m passing on this one. WAY overpriced for what it does. And in the end, my donuts are more valuable to me than that. But whatever you decide just remember this will be leaving our games soon, so make your final decision before it leaves our games on November 1st..

This monster is a homage to the Universal horror classic the creature from the black lagoon, only that it is brown. I’m definitely going to get this one. Does anyone remember which episode he appears in?
I would love to get it, because its a cool decoration and Blinky is basically a Sea Devil! I’d love to feel like a Sea Devil is stalking my town, but there are many other things I want to spend donuts on that I won’t if I buy such a pricey ‘deal,’ so I’m having to sadly pass on this one.

A lot (25 in my case) of the Springfielders get a 1 hour visual job as a zombie 👻👹
I personally splurged on this, and it actually is a fun little character. Questline is pretty interesting and cracked me up at points, and the monster battle use is very helpful, with the fact that monsters require more people now, which makes running out of characters to use a bit of a constant thing. I’m happy about the bonus, but I do wish that this was a little cheaper. I always try to go for characters, so it being a Gil Deal, such as Rockstar Maggie during Sci Fi, was a bit of a let down, as Gil Deals usually aren’t deals, but are instead extremely donut costly. But, if you look past that, I found the character to be a fun lil addition! 😀
I dread contacting EA again about the invisible Shinning Hotel 🙁 The only way i can see it is to send Willie there on his 4 hr task but it “Blinks” in and out. Very disappointed!
I jumped on this like a duck on a June bug. Love the way he looks! I am a bit disappointed that nothing happens when I tap the swamp. Didn’t care about the bonus, but it’s nice they’ve added it.
What I am REALLY LIVID about is that the covered bridge DOESN’T GO OVER WATER. Seriously, EA? Who’s responsible for this travesty? Talk about screwing things up completely! Of everything EA has ever gotten wrong in this game, that covered bridge that DOESN’T GO OVER THE WATER has to be the worst. Worst. Goof. Ever. Are you listening, EA? Have you lost your minds? BRIDGES GO OVER WATER. I’m normally a mild-mannered, nice person, but this has me frothing at the mouth and spitting and sputtering and twitching my eye and everything. SO MAD!!!!! >_<

I liked the decoration and the character. The tasks are pretty funny and as far as characters go, this is one of the nicer, unique looking ones. It also fits with the iguana lady swamp so you can make a little spooky swamp area. Too bad none of the other decorations really fits all that well — most of them are too green to really blend it together.

Thanks for the info. Think I’ll pass even though Blinky Monster is the one thing I’d been waiting for in this event. I guess I’ll snag Vampire Mr. Burns when he’s offered. I’m not too impressed with any of the premium loot this time.

Passed on this when I saw this in a neighbors town- the dock was pretty small and didn’t really seem to add a lot. But obsessed Shauna has finally returned! They couldn’t have taken my doughnuts fast enough
Does anyone know if Helter Skeleter does anything or is he a npc? I’ve waiting a few days for any word on him and can’t find anything on the website. Also is Shauna worth the donuts?

Shaun’s is worth the donuts you pay for her.
Why?
(I’m mean that literally, not as a negative response….I have the donuts to buy her with, but I can’t figure out why I want her…or at least why I want her 90 donuts worth. But I’m open to being persuaded!)
Shauna is a pretty helpful character for the event, and is at a pretty regular price. She’ll pay just as much as Squeeky Voiced Teen during her trick or treat task. So if you’re wanting to get a bit more obols and clapboards every 4 hours, then it’s a good buy. She also has a few interesting outdoor tasks, like teasing ducks by keeping the baby away from her mother. She’s also a total bad girl. I’d say she’s a pretty decent purchase for what it’s worth. I picked her up as soon as she was in the store yesterday, and I have no regrets. 🙂
I just picked up Shauna, I’ve been wanting her for a while now but to me 90 donuts seemed a bit steep. Luckily this time around I had the donuts so I thought “what the heck”.
Here is my thinking on why to buy her: Limited time character (you never know when or if EA will offer her again), she seems to always help with the Halloween event (I was sad to see not all the kids were used for trick-or-treating, but there seems to be a main core of kids EA uses for trick-or-treating and Shauna is one of them), I feel like I could use more help in collecting the Obol coins for this event, her Tease ducks task is funny, EA doesn’t seem to use all the Limited Time characters for the different events however Shauna, if memory serves, does get used every now and again.
I’ve had Shauna for quite a while & enjoy her tasks. I like the 8, 10 & 12 hr character tasks & her’s are both visual. Plus… everything else that was already said in the posts before mine. 😎 RachelS

I got one I liked it but really if D’s are tight maybe not a great buy
But if you have them it’s a cool little decoration
Way not worth the amount of donuts EA is asking for him but I just had to have him. I love the old creature movies, he reminds me of the Creature From The Black Lagoon.
So would the opinion be different now that there’s a multiplier added? Is this considered more of a so-so? If you like it, get it? I’m on the fence about this one.
Nope. I still think it’s WAYYYY over priced.
