It’s Halloween in our pocket-size Springfields! Yes that magical time of the year when our towns turn dark, our water becomes mucky and there are monsters everywhere to battle. Just like October in every other suburban town in America, no?
The Halloween Event is in full swing on our devices and it’s full of creepy decorations, buildings and characters…all designed to get us into the Halloween spirit!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the Second Act you’re tasked with collecting Clapboards (
) to unlock each prize!
The Second Act 2 Prize is awarded at 14,400 is the Dark Carriage, because even Ghostly figures need to get around…
So let’s take a closer look at this second prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 14,400 you’ll automatically be awarded the Dark Carriage and you’ll see this message popup:
And you’ll have the option to place it in your Springfield immediately or store it in your inventory for later. Remember if you store it you’ll have to go back into your inventory to retrieve it.
The Dark Carriage does not come with a questline (other than the initial one telling you to unlock it). Nothing to help you earn more …just unlock the prize and move on.

What Does it Do?: Animated when tapped, the ghost/ghoul whips the ghost horse and the horse kicks it’s legs.

Here’s my attempt to integrate the Dark Carriage and covered bridge. The older trick or treaters use the bridge, but the young’uns seem to avoid it; I don’t blame ’em! 👻

Nicely done! Inspirational… 😈 Just wondering how you got so many Obols, you do have a lot of crafted items. I’ve been tap-tap-tapping away and don’t seem to get anywhere fast with the crafting part. Well, relatively speaking: construction yard is at lvl 13, Mag track is finished and I’ll get Death later today…
Why, thank you, Rexbo! I’m actually only on level 12 of the construction yard, so I haven’t even unlocked the ability to craft bramble hedge. I acquired the bramble hedges, dead trees, and spooky groves from previous THOH updates. Like you, I’ve completed the MAG track and am a few hours away from Death 💀 (perhaps I should’ve rephrased that 😆), but even though I’ve been diligently tapping away, I’ve been finding collecting Obols has been inordinately slooooow….🐌

The dark carriage would be a lot cooler if it moved around the Springfield.
I call the Covered Bridge ‘the pigeon coop’, seems that’s all its good for.
And the Dark Carriage went straight to storage. Zombie animals being abused with their skin falling off kinda makes me sick. I realize it’s cartoons but I’m really not entertained by it. Not fun, no point.
The Covered Bridge to Nowhere has to be the worst item so far. Gotta love a bridge that can’t connect to roads, and gods forbid it could be placed over water. Pointless.
Agreed. It doesn’t make sense for it not to be placed on water. It’s a bridge. Why would it be lying on someone’s lawn? Really don’t know what to do with it.
The first prize disappointing and I am placing they straight in storage ( if EA make possible to delete items in storage I will delete them as soon as possible. Now I am collecting currency for my DEATH it seems scary but I love to se it walking around in my city.
Then I will make my rush for the bonuts
I’m digging the monster couch but not really sure where to put it since it doesn’t really fit the medieval theme. It would be great if characters could interact with it.
I put mine next to my “Wax Museum” which has a ton of random items next to it. I treat it like the combo “Ripley’s” and Wax Museum combos you see at coastal towns in Oregon.
I have to agree, the covered bridge was a horrible prize with its limitations. Why do I want a bridge in my grass or beach, silly. Death better be an upgrade, the couch is nice.
I put this in front of the cemetery in my Wild West area. I stupidly bought the zombie combo to have more cemetery, not realizing there was a better cemetery option coming (especially since I didn’t even want the zombie…he went straight into storage). #Virtualworldproblems
I am using my carriage as an Uber waiting outside Spooky Moe’s…so all the drunk monsters have a safe ride …home? (Probably their last ride)

I feel like my monster rats aren’t coming out anymore. Is this true?
They don’t seem to be as plentiful as the smaller feral monsters, I’m thinking that is probably do to the fact that they pay out more then there smaller/quicker cousins.

I found Dark Carriage, Covered bridge (a bridge that can’t be put on water, so cool…) and the Monster couch pretty disappointing. Just waiting DEATH now… Jebus, that sounds very weird out of context
I shall place you, next to my haunted stable when I get it.
As far as decorations go, it is really neat looking and will fit in with my haunted forest/stable/castle area I made. It can also be placed on the dirt roads which is helpful for continuity.
Haunted stable is much cooler than it looks. It has an animated green glow from inside and a ghost horse zips across the sky (and neighs) above it. For me, it is by far the best prize of the group.
That Covered Bridge is very underwhelming. It can’t be placed a real bridge over water 🙁
Interests decoration. Good for the theme, but underwhelming IMHO.
