We present to you TSTO Addicts’ Best THOH Segment Bracket Battle.
Below you’ll find all 81 beloved THOH segments that will have aired in the first 600 episodes of The Simpsons up to and including this seasons’ THOH XXVII. The segments have been organized into three conferences based on their sequential appearance in each THOH anthology: first, second, or third segment. The segments will battle each other in four rounds of head-to-head-to-head matchups, that we hope produce the most debate in the comments below. We’ll do our best to convince you of each segments’ merits, but it’s ultimately up to you. Twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays over the next three weeks, we’ll post the matchups and your votes over the next 48 hours will determine which segments advance to the next round, until we’ve crowned “The Best THOH Segment” on Monday October 31st.

The Shinn FTW!!! One of my all time favorites. In fact after this challenge started I went back and rewatched that THOH and man it’s great.

Great job Safi! These bracket challenges are a lot of fun.:) Ideas for future bracket challenges? I think a fun one would be best classic episode(Seasons 1-11) and best newer episode.
SAFI- I really hope the next bracket challenge will be one in which I can participate. I adored the first one but did not feel I could or should do this one as I would not have seen all of the episodes (I’m across the pond in blighty🇬🇧). I’ve seen all of the classic episodes/earlier stuff but over here we tend to get a lot of repeats and none of the newer stuff. Still, I would have voted for The Shinning to win anyway. It’s a superb & worthy winner. I’d love to have a bracket challenge along the lines of “Favourite episode featuring a ‘real life’/’celeb’ guest appearance” (i.e their cartoon form must be in the episode as opposed to just their voice) There must be dozens to chose from but I personally love Lisa The Vegitarian w/The McCartneys. The episode with U2 and the one with Ricky Gervais. I’m not being biaised towards Brits but we did add a little something special to those episodes n’est-ce pas? Anyway, thanks again for all your hard work on this & generally on this site with anything maths related. I wish my maths tutor at school had been like you I probably would have passed first time without needing to resit (in the same exam with my whizz kid brother😩😂). What’s that critter across from Devil Flanders?
It’s a Rigellian from the Rigel System. We had them two years ago in the THOH XXV update.
It’s been the site of satanic rituals, witch burnings, and 5 John Denver Christmas specials!
Even though Shinning is a Halloween episode I have people agree that it is one of the best episodes ever!
I knew the Shining was gonna win from the beginning. Great episodes.
Also, I think a bracket like this would be cool to do for the Christmas episodes too.
There aren’t nearly as many, though.
Maybe a bracket featuring episodes set in the future and past (bracket for anything not set in the present)?
This was even more fun than the first tourney, and that was ridiculously fun! I love the write ups of the match ups. They do a great job reminding me of the episodes that I watched and forgot when I was drunk in college. Also, the write ups give a glimpse into the massive amount of work that Safi puts into these brackets. They are really loved in creation and in participation. Thanks again Safi!!!

This segment isn’t quite number one on my personal list, but it’s definitely in the top few. For the most part the results seemed to be pretty close to what I was voting for. I’m glad so many of the users on this site have such great taste! ;-p
Not surprised (or disappointed) that The Shinning won. It’s a solid segment, but my personal favourite of these three will always be Citizen Kang 🙂

Definitely a classic segment. With lots of quotability, this is one of my favorite TTOHs.
