Halloween Act 3 is Live!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Welcome to the wee early morning hours…at least here on the East Coast. But who can sleep when there are monsters to battle?!  Act 3 of the Halloween Event is upon us….so have at it my friends!

Remember…this is an automatic change in your game.  Nothing to download, it should just start up in your game..

Lisa will start this for you with dialogue between her and Mayor Quimby.  This will be followed by an 8hr task for Wiggum.  Oh, and you will have to complete the Act 2 questline (up to, and including, Lost in La Mosntra Pt. 12).  So if you didn’t complete it yet, you won’t see the new questline.

Act 3 runs until November 15th

Just what does Act 3 have in store for us?  Let’s take a look…71hnl2wgrgl

New Prize Currency for Act 3.

ico_cur_thoh2016_megaphone_lg Megaphones

You’ll earn Megaphones very similar to how you earned Clapboards in Act 2…

  1. Does werewolf Flanders award MAG points? I thought he did, but my points total didn’t change after I earned him.

  2. When my feral monsters drop Obols, I’m getting 4 Obols. Have we always been getting 4? I thought it was 1 or 2.

  3. Got one of the 4th monsters earlier, think a purple version of the 2nd monster, with the weird teeth

  4. I took months off the game, but had to come back to finally have a chance to buy Booberella.

  5. So glad that Werewolf Flanders is on the prize track – I was worried I was going to have to spend donuts which I’m seriously lacking!

  6. How many mag points do each of the personal prizes give you? I’m gonna be stuck at level 18 because nothing else gives mag points.

    • Are you confusing MAG levels with creating levels?

When looking at the crafting tab, every oh ok you spend ups your crafting level at the top of the tab.

The MAG levels are shown in the MAG tab and it had its own progress bar, but those levels are named and counted differently, there isn’t a level 18 for MAG.

      • Yes, there are 20 mag prizes, I’m stuck at the 18th prize. Was just looking to see if we get enough mag but after some digging I found there should be plenty, it’s just gonna take time is all.

  7. Was so stoked to see the “exploding zombies” available!!!!😀 Cool that I could purchase one with game cash too.

  8. petshopboy1980s

They’ve got to stop with these colossal sized buildings.

  9. I was so close to getting Death via collecting clapboards but i wasn’t close enough. But i was close enough that the cost to buy him with donuts was cheap, only 5 donuts. Cheapest character i bought with donuts, LOL!

  10. 12-Donut Zombie and $50k Zombie dog were both quick purchases – the animations on both are good fun.

  11. I saw one of my friends has all the main characters walking around as zombies… how do I get that????

  12. I just realised there’s “set up training exercises” stated, and how to you send the characters to the task?

  13. Unless I’m not seeing it, which even if it’s not there, I’m not seeing it, Herman’s image is missing in the grid of “Here’s a reminder of all the characters that can battle at the moment….” Moe is there, Herman is not…although both are mentioned earlier in the post, so not really needed 😀

  14. Frinkenstein:
Is this a skin? or its own character separate from Frink?

  15. What’s so great about booberella?

    • Careful! Questions like that mark you out as too young to play the game 😉
Seriously, what’s special about any of the characters?
I like some more than others but at the end of the day they’re all just a bunch of pixels.

    • She has a 4hr task (Set up training exercises) that rewards 50 megaphones. Space Mutant and Suzanne have the same task. Everyone else is either fighting monsters or trick-or-treating. Are there are other characters that have this task?

    • If you have to ask, you’ll never know.

    • Well, one or two qualities stand out pretty sharply.

    • I was really wondering why she made others excited. Replies so far are not terribly enlightening. Nor do they feel very inclusive and welcoming. I was hoping to join the group of excited fans. I guess I will just ‘never know.’

      • Booberella is a fun unique character. She has some fun animations. I don’t think the answers were supposed to be unwelcoming, rather subtle and vague (and funny) I think they were also trying to hint that she’s sexy.

      • She’s a limited time character, that’s not released too often and I think that’s why most people are excited. I know that if Father Sean or Kumiko were ever re-released, I would be excited. I own her because I love that she’s a play on Elvira and she amuses me.

      • She’s a clear parody of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. This character (played by Cassandra Peterson – google her or check out elvira.com) hosted cult like, late night horrow shows and movies. She also has a movie or two about her character specifically. Those of us who were teens or older in the 80’s-90’s would have grown up with her, as we watched late night Friday TV (there were no iPhones, or devices……*EEEEEEEEEEEKKKK!!!!” Therefore, she’s very sentimental to many, and yes, known for her rather clearly exposed….assets.

      • Just watching her burn at the stake alone is worth it! And selling peanuts is pretty cool too.

      • Google Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

She happens to be a relative of mine.

  16. I thought was a nice gift from EA to make the zombie dog available for cash. it has a cool animation.

  17. Scratch my comment. I see that we only get megaphones from the creatures. I could’ve sworn I was getting them quicker before! 👽👽

  18. Am I crazy, or am I not getting any obols from the creatures that run around town? I swear I did all through act 2 and 1. Saving up 700 of them and starting to feel like I might not get the craft! 👻 I’m sure I’m just crazy

    • I certainly did get obols from feral beasts (randomly) during the first two acts, and I don’t see any reason why it would be any different for this act. The key, though, is that it’s random…you won’t get them every time you tap them, they way you do with the megaphones.

      • I realized that after rereading an old post. I must be getting old 🙃
Still, I didn’t get any obols from them for a solid 8 hours until I complained here, then the next 40 creatures gave them very generously. 👹 I’ll take it though!

  19. Another castle on some rocks. I need more space in the Heights!

  20. I got Booberella and Gravedigger Billy. I’m so glad I saved my doughnuts for these two characters.

  21. Gravedigger Billy and Booberella, just take the donuts already!!! 😃
I’ve wanted Booberella forever and had the donuts for a change. Glad I passed on the Gil deal.

  22. Ok. It’s official. Even for Tapped Out, this story makes absolutely *no* sense. While the activities may be interesting, the story and characters are so random. It’s like they took leftover ideas from previous years and just threw a bunch of it against the wall. So weird.

    • It’s a game based on The Simpsons (a CARTOON). It’s not supposed to make sense. 😉

      • Now, see, I disagree…while it doesn’t have to be *realistic*, it should be coherent and internally consistent (at least to a point).

If EA just put up random bits of disconnected dialog with no real storyline, it would definitely not be acceptable and would make the game a lot less fun to play. While I don’t think it’s quite at that extreme for this event, I agree with the OP that this event’s storyline could be a lot tighter and more engaging, like the one for the last event was. Plus, I don’t think that the dialog has been all that funny, either. From a storyline and dialog perspective, I think the last event was great and this one is pretty weak.

Being a game based on a cartoon doesn’t give the writers a pass to just be lazy, IMO.

        • Hi Sandra. I’ll grant you that the dialogue and story line are a bit weak for this event. It would have been nice to be able to make an actual movie, or at least see a few movie clips (i.e., as in the old west event. Remember?). My point is that things that happen in a cartoon universe don’t necessarily translate well into the real world- nor should they.

  23. I’m wondering what the 4th monster looks like. Haven’t had one appear in my list yet.

  24. Which one is better? Gravedigger Billy or the zombie sandwich? I only have 100 donuts. 😬

    • Zombie Sandwich.
      By far.

    • alex - aabcampos2

      zombie sandwich

    • My vote is for Gravedigger Billy. The zombie sandwich is a gimmick. Gravedigger Billy is a character that will live on forever in your game.

    • I always go for characters first. I have both, but always love the Scottish characters most.

    • Billy

    • Zombie Sandwich. It is sorta like getting premium skins for a bunch of freemium characters.

    • That’s kind of an apples-to-oranges comparison… Billy will earn cash an XP for you (at a premium rate, too!) and may be useful for other events/tasks down the road. But the zombie sandwich thing is really cool (if you like zombies), although you may get tired of it, eventually, especially during non-Halloween times.

So, I guess I’d say that, unless the zombie sandwich is really calling to you, I’d get Billy. But if the zombie sandwich is just the coolest thing ever to you, then go for it, even if it didn’t really have any return on your investment other than the joy it brings you (which is arguably the most important thing in a silly little game like this).

    • Billy’s grave doesn’t even give a bonus, mind you.

  25. Thank you, EA for making the game so unstable on older devices. My game crashed 13 times this morning- 3 times in regular game play and 10 times while trying to visit neighbors.

    • Unfortunately that’s the nature of technology. As it evolves you’ve got to evolve along with it otherwise it won’t work for you. I can’t tell you how many computers/tablets/phones I’ve had to replace over the last 5 years because technology was changing so quickly and they couldn’t keep up with the newest things.

      • I seriously have to say thank you to EA for not supporting older devices.
I can’t imagine how much customer service time is spent on older devices.
I have a 5 year old Samsung G3 that works fine for TSTO.

      • Yeah, I can remember back in the olden days when I could just go out an buy newer tech to replace the aging ones. Unfortunately, those days are in the past and I have to keep hold of the old tech just to get things done.

The good old, catch-22…I need to use tech to get work done and I need work to get new tech…unfortunately, my biz is generating very little cash and what little it does barely pays the bills (actually, for this year it won’t be enough). Lol…but I guess it’ll be a moot point as I won’t be able to afford internet or electricity to play TSTO…*cackles*

So I’ll just have to live with a ton of crashes and hope for a miracle. 😉

    • I have the Big iphone 6 it crashed one time this morning if it helps at all

    • Removal of the unused apps will help a lot. It made TSTO playable on my iPad2

    • I started doing something that you might find helpful: I took Lee’s advice and started doing my neighbor visits to their Krustylands. Because those are much smaller than Springfield, they only take a few seconds to load for each friend – even on my 3+ year-old device. Works wonders and my device never crashes now. I treat the krustyland tickets like a 401k – save the tickets until I “cash them out and pay taxes” by converting to regular in-game cash.

  26. Gravedigger an npc or new character?

  27. I am here for cheap NPCs and also NPCs that can be purchased with in game cash!! This is only my second Halloween so not sure if this is the “returning price” for these two Zombies but if NPCs were this cheap normally my town would be crawling with them!

  28. Quick comment – all the “something on a hill”s……..urgh! Individually, they look cool, but they’re a design nightmare.
