In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?
In this post I will be going over the Origin of The Shinning Hotel/Maze. Why is it in our games? What does it have to do with Halloween? Let’s dive into the Simpsons TV Series to find out more.
YAY!!! ANOTHER SHINNING ITEM IS IN THE GAME!! For myself and Wookiee, the Shinning has been one of the main items we have requested since the start of the Addicts Site to be place into the game. For two years I wrote about this episode in hopes they would include it.
They finally dropped a piece of it in the game last year in the form of the Maze…
But now we FINALLY have the actual Hotel in our games. YAY!! It was brought into the game during Act 2 of the Halloween 2016 Event in the form of a bundle with the Shinning Maze for a Premium Buy
Let’s take a look at the episode recap really quick (as it has been covered many times before)
Season 6, Episode 6: Treehouse of Horror V
Tuesday: The Simpsons are on there way to the Hotel, but Homer forgot to lock the front door to the house… D’OH!
Wednesday: The Simpsons are on there way to the Hotel, but when Homer went back to lock the front door to the house, he forgot to lock the back door… D’OH! D’OH!
Thursday: The Simpsons are on there way to the Hotel, but Lisa screams they forget Grampa back at the Gas Station… Meh! On to the Hotel they FINALLY go to be the new Winter Caretakers at the Hotel for Mr Burns
There inside that lovely Hotel we learn that all work and no play make Homer Crazy, twins are bad mmmmkay, and if Johnny comes here… RUN!!!
There you have it, a Treehouse of Horrors episode drops yet another cool item into our silly games for our Halloween cravings.

My hotel is invisible. I haven’t been able to see it at all since I purchased it. EA keeps “escalating my case,” but they haven’t done a thing to help me. I’ve contacted them four times already.
I’ve posted about this, had the issue when I first bought it and EA never helped. However, finally got my tablet running and I can see my hotel just fine when I play on it but not on my phone (both the same Android version). That doesn’t help those of you playing on one device but it does point to it being a device specific issue.
Wolffmann, if you didn’t know, try sending Willie on his 4 hr task to the hotel (catch an axe in the back), it should make your hotel mostly visible! It blinks out for a couple secs when cycling animation, then is back. Tough to not need him for fighting though.
Keep on trying. My Town Square went invisible on me, but EA was able to bring it back. Took a few messages. Probably depends on who you get to manage your case.
Joker my Hotel is invisible also. EA is suppose to be working on a patch. That’s what they say anyway ):
Mine is invisible. I actually wonder if any of my neighbors can see it. It’s right next to the hedge Maze near the top of my town in my Cypress Creek area. I’ve tried storing it and I’ve even had to uninstall my game a couple times during the event and it’s still invisible. The only time I could see it was when I first bought it. Anyone else having this problem?
My fav THOH segment! Sadly I don’t have enough donuts for these items but I’m sure they will be back in the future.
I got this one. I like the look of the hotel especially with some woods all around and pyres going behind it. I also like that my trick or treaters visit it.
Hah. I was just at The Stanley hotel last weekend up in Estes Park Colorado (for those that don’t know, The Stanley hotel is the Shinning hotel).
That place is AMAZING!! And truly haunted…
Wanted the hotel but I already had the maze. That and a lack of donuts kept me from getting it. Maybe next year.

Off topic… for the first time since playing, I was unable to complete act 2 and missed death. 🙁 Will he be available for donuts at the end of the event or do I have to wait a whoooooooooooole year? I’m totally bummed and hate my phone.
You can go back to the Act 2 prize track and purchase him, but if you missed the prizes before you’ll have to purchase them too.
O.T.:I just started combatting the 4th monster, which needs four Springfielders.
i still haven’t gotten one…but not surprising took a while for me to see the 2nd monster as well.
Got him as well, four hours ago. Pays 285 megaphones.
