In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

Season 7, Episode 6: Treehouse of Horror VI (Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace)

On a play with the Freddy Krueger films, Bart is experiencing quite unusual things while he dreams. Like Santa’s Lil Helper talking to him. He also has some silly older time cartoon style additions like giant eyes when he see’s something scary, holding up a sign saying “Yikes”, even lil birdies swarming around the bump on his head. Just what is it that is causing him to be so scared in these dreams? Groundskeeper Willie, who seems to be taking on the role of a psychotic Freddy Krueger.

No worries, it was only a dream. Or… was it? Bart wakes up with rake mark slashes across his stomach where the “dream” Willie attacked him. At school he tells Lisa what had happened. Lisa explains to Bart that she also had a nightmare with Willie. He chopped off bits of her hair with hedge clippers. The more they talk about it, the more school kids join in telling of their Nightmare experiences with Willie. During class, Martin begins to daydream and is also attacked by Willie. He chokes out poor Martin with his tongue.

The kids go home to tell Marge and Homer about Martin’s death. Marge finally spills the beans. On the 13th hour of the 13th day of the 13th month (what is the 13th month?). Aaaah, its from the misprinted Calendars with “Smarch”. The PTA had gone to the school to discuss this issue. Even though there was a sign “Do Not Touch Willie” on the thermostat, Homer views it as a sign to not touch Willie, and turns the heat all the way up. It causes the furnace to fire up and explode with Willie sitting in the room next to it on his bagpipes. He catches fire with everything else in the room. He rushes to the room where the PTA is meeting to get help, but he is told to wait his turn. He of course burns to death waiting. He swears he will avenge his death and make them all pay… with their Children’s Blood.

Bart takes it upon himself to confront Willie in his dreams in one final battle. Bart sees a way to make a trap for the Tractor version of Nightmare Willie and tosses some grass clippings on the sand box along with filling it with water. This creates a quicksand pit and it quickly starts to engulf Willie. Willie does try to struggle and changes into multiple items trying to escape like an Elephant, a Tank, a rocket, then just himself struggling to get out. He seems to be sucked down inside and gone for good… or so it seemed. As Bart is reliving a pleasant dream with Krusty, a now Bagpipe Spider Willie comes out of the sand pit, grabs hold of Bart, and starts to take him down with him.

Lisa, thinking she is there to save Bart by waking him up, is quickly reminded she can’t be there unless she too is asleep. Willie grabs a hold of her too and pulls her down with him as well.

nightmare-willie-5

Luckily Maggie enters to save the day. She plugs the Bagpipe air release valve with her Binky, causing Willie to fill up with air and explode. But could this really be the end of Willie?

  1. This episode felt like there was a little homage to the movie IT with giant spider reference.

  2. I still want a flaming skeleton Willie skin 🔥☠️🔥

  3. I loved this episode the first time it ran and ever since. I’m scottish, I love everything scottish and willy is no exception. I love bagpipes, as long as you’re not too close to them. 😉
However, I HATE spiders. Bagpipe spider?! Ahh!
Anyways, though I rarely but anything that doesn’t include a character, and it’d better be a cool one… this was a no-brainer must-have for me.
If you haven’t seen it… this is totally Willie:
