Halloween Is Nearing the End…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just a reminder that the Halloween Event Ends TOMORROW November 15th at 0800 GMT (3am EST)

This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.

As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Lol. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.

Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…

  • Questlines linked directly to the progression of the Event will go. Like the Main Questlines that pulled you through all 3 Acts.
  • However, the questlines linked directly the the prizes you’ve won will remain. (so Frinkenstein, Werewolf Flanders etc)
  • The event removal will require an app store update to fully remove it from your game.  So don’t panic when 0800 GMT hits and the event isn’t out of your game…  It will require an app store update to remove everything.  Usually those hit around 1-2pm (EDT)

I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of collection as far as you can. If you turn OFF the auto update feature in your App Market, you may give yourself an extra day or so just know that ANY time after the 15th is borrowed time and you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. EA can force the update at anytime after the 15th and make you update. So use any extra time wisely and get what you need before you have to remove the Event completely.

So tap those last few monsters and relax and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.

Are you sad to see the event go?  Or ready for it to finally be over?  How did you do with the prizes?  Get everything you wanted?  What are you hoping to see next?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I’ve earned all prizes from all 3 acts and gotten at least 3 rounds of bonuts in each act. Thank you to all my neighbors for your help as well as the great crew of men and women who run this site. Keeping us informed with the game and the ability to connect to one another.

  2. I’m gearing up for Thanksgiving in my town, I just put the outdoor feast table out (the one Lisa and Flanders used last year I think) and I have a task for the 2 of them pop up. I don’t know if this is trigged every time the table is put out or if I’m jumping ahead, but if you’re done with Halloween and have the table, I say give it a try!

  3. This was one of my favourite events. It was easy to get all the prizes. I found the Sci-Fi too hard and time consuming and I gave up on it. I had over 400 hard earned donuts. I’m down to 50 now because I splurged on this event.

  4. I completed all acts with a few days to spare and got quite a few bonuts

I crafted all the main items apart from Spooky Trees and Bramble Hedges as I already had some. I decided to craft Spooky Houses with all my spare obols as they earn money. Including the ones I had previously, I must have over 100. I still have nine bits of land left to buy, so the more money the better. Plus I still have a few of those expensive items to buy like the Zirconia and I also want to upgrade the I.R.S. building

I will be able to finish a round of bonuts tomorrow, and that’ll probably be it. Had I been playing as often as I could in the last few days, and did friend visits, then I might have got two or three more rounds in. I’ll glad to see the back of this event though

  5. I got all the prize track items without any trouble. Got through the crafting track, as well, and am now spending extra obols on fences because you never know when fences will come in handy. Not super excited for a Thanksgiving mini event because it’s likely to bring back a lot of stuff I already have, but maybe it will surprise me. I hope other players who have been waiting for Thanksgiving items can get them. Last winter event was fantastic and finally brought us Maggie, so I’m optimistic about what might be coming in winter.

  6. I’m hoping the haunted stables will earn an XP bonus after the event. It earns nothing and has no jobs for Springfielders…seems an obvious choice.

  7. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAA !!!!
What’s the over/under for when the next event begins???

  8. Am ready for the removal just hope the update is for amazon fire, had to wait the last time

  9. I liked the event and would have spent many donuts on several of the buildings but I am completely out of space. I need a lot of land including some in Springfield Heights. Love your website.

  10. I’m ok with the length of the events, I just wish they started earlier so they could end with the holiday.

A month long Halloween is fine, just start it at the being of October so it ends right after Halloween. Then do a short t’giving one ending right after t’giving, then immediately start the Christmas one so it ends right after Christmas. They could then squeeze in a week long New year’s mini event.

I’d rather be looking forward to the next holiday than reliving what we already celebrated.

  11. Thank God it’s over. I like to keep my town somewhat normal, so the event didn’t offer me anything besides the cobblestone road and I’d rather have a lush and green Springffield than the depressing Halloween version.

  12. I LOVED this one. Love all the prices, all the crafting prizes, and spent money for the first time getting all the stuff I wanted! This one was much better than last year’s event. I agree it was long, but that doesn’t bother me. It gave me time to get all the prizes and bonuts. Bring on the Christmas event! 😀

  13. I really liked this event compared to most of the previous events of the last year or two. I think they did a good job of incorporating some of the best aspects of previous events, while excluding some of the things I haven’t liked about previous events.

As per most events, I’m always really happy when an event starts, and equally happy when they end. These events always seem to run too long.

I’m hoping that there will be some Black Friday deals in the game. I’ve been stockpiling doughnuts. I’m still sitting on the fence about the zombie sandwich. I certainly afford to get it. I just don’t think I want it. I know Alissa et al really love it, but it just seem like it doesn’t have long term enjoyment value for me. I think I will pass on it. There are only three character/building combos left for me to get. Volcano lair, Florence of Arabia, and the unfinished shed. I’d like to see at least one of these offered up at a discount on Black Friday. There are a number of stand alone buildings and decorations I would like to have at a discount. We shall see.

  14. My first Halloween event. I liked it. But I do agree they should really shorten the length of these events. Seem to drag on way too long.

I did end up pulling the trigger on that Mystery Pumpkin or whatever it was called. Did that 3 times and ended up getting the ones I wanted. The three costumes for Luann, Kirk, and Witch Marge. Really just wanted Witch Marge, but I have liked the Luann Squirrel costume. Got that one first at the beginning of the event. Then this weekend got Kirk, and crossed my fingers one more time and was happy to get lucky with Witch Marge.

    • Oh, was that pumpkin thing part of this event? It seems so long ago I’d completely forgotten about it.
My first reaction was that this event was too long, this just confirms I was 100% right.

  15. The bridge was the only bummer. had 5- 6 days of bonut collecting every act (though collected 200 or so bonuts 🙂 and got everything i wanted)…..hopefully they do bigger event for Thanksgiving/Christmas. anyway when are they gonna release those?

  16. I greatly enjoyed the classic monster theme of this event, this was soooooo much better then last year! But I do have to admit that most of the big events seem to last a bit to long (even though I had fun with this event). Now I’m looking forwards to Black Friday and Christmas. I would really love it if EA would start reusing past buildings/decorations for new events instead of continuing to give us new humongous start buildings.

  17. What should I spend all of my surplus obols on?
I’m thinking probably a spooky cabin farm.

    • Same question. I’m hoping Alissa will be along to give us her recommendations, like she did with her recommendation to buy windmills at the end of the Clash of Clans event.

I had fully intended to take her advice and buy a crap-ton of windmills (as well as a few other prizes I wanted duplicates of), but got busy at work the last day or so and forgot about it.

Now those CoC windmills she recommended we spend extra/surplus event currency on are worth bonus percentage… and I’m over here kicking myself!

The moral of the story here is “Always listen to Alissa!” 😀

      • lol right now there’s nothing really popping out at me on this event as a must buy. But it’s always nice to have extra fences for decorating. 🙂

  18. Really liked this event. I was really hoping this last week would surprise use with a story for the feral monsters and why they kept growing. Would have been unexpected, and paid off the slow build of them getting bigger and bigger. Still overall, a lot of fun. Maybe SLIGHTLY outstayed its welcome, but all of these month long events tend to do that by the end.

  19. The main questline was very short, I hope they make more effort for the next event.

  20. Not a bad event overall, but it did feel like it was dragging on without the event questline going on. It was much better than last year and with the extra donuts from finishing the prize track early was great. I give this event a 7 or 8 out of 10. Also, is there going to be a show-off post for this event because I would love to see what people have done with the Halloween items.

    • Planning on announcing one soon for next week…figured I’d let the event finish up 🙂

      • I was keen to see what people have done before it ended, as I have no clue what I should buy with my 2000+ extra Obols (I’ve already maxed out the yard & got the shipwreck) . My Halloween area started off nicely but I’ve just been chucking items in randomly as the event progressed… I still don’t know what design direction I’m heading in, and hence what decorations I should stock up on. *sigh* just under 17 hours (minus sleep) to decide!

        • I’ve spent my obols on walls, lights and bats for possible future designs such as the castle walls go well with the Mad Doctor’s Castle. The show off post has so many great designs which is where I usually get many ideas from.

          • Yeah, same here. I already have a lot of the items from previous years (castle walls, spooky house, dead tree, cart, cabin, groves, hedges, spooky tree) so I’ve just been buying iron walls mostly. I have multiples of most things and still 2000 left. Ah well, I’ll have to spend them in the next 3 hours!

  21. Near the end I thought Inwasnt going to make it, but dispite reducing my tapping to one or twice a day I still managed to compleate the event and a round of Bonuts in.

I’m hoping this year the Thanksgiving update hits and it’s combined with the winter holiday update, so we can roll right from one to the other and it can end on Dec 31st/Jan 1st

I’m also hoping rabbi Krustofski becomes a playable freeium character this year.

I do not want an additional holiday skin for the buildings we already have.

    • No more skins for buildings we already have Christmas skins for (I hate choosing), but YES, YES, YES for more skins for buildings that don’t have them. I want the most festive, brilliant town ever! :)))

  22. Ready for Christmas!!!! But first – BLACK FRIDAY!!!

  23. I did rEAlly good. I finished Act 3 six days ago. I bought all of the primium stuff and mad a very spooky 👻 Halloween quarter.
    Now I’m reaping 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩 Hmmmmmmm 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩

    • Would love to see it!

    • For some reason I can’t reply directly to your comment re: Leapdroid so I’ll reply here:

I am utterly shocked! I thought I’d finally found a fantastic emulator to use, and the devs released updates regularly. Bluestacks became so bloated with all their Twitch TV junk, and half the time it would stall on loading. Leapdroid has been flawless, so it’s a real shame they’ve stopped developing it (good for them going to Google though). You might be able to find an installer with some digging, or I could make mine available somehow (downloaded almost 6 weeks ago on 07/10). There are other alternatives out there, but I haven’t tried them.

  24. Good riddens…
    Bring on Christmas!

  25. I’m
Going to have to delete all apps on my phone soon. This game is taking up so much memory on my device! Excited for thanksgiving/Black Friday next so I can get another character. Hoping for a deer hunting update since opening weekend is this Saturday in WI but I know I’ll never get it.

    • You can always install it on a tablet or PC. I play on Windows PC (both desktop & tablet) exclusively as I don’t own a Android or IOS mobile

      • I didn’t realize there even /was/ an option for playing it on Windows PC!

        • No officially, as in it’s not available in the Windows Store or as an x86 executable. I use an android emulator to do it… the one I use now is Leapdroid, which is fantastic and free. I used to use Bluestacks, but they install a lot of crapware if you don’t want to pay $2/month (or whatever it is). I play mainly on my desktop PC with a mouse, but sometimes I play on my tablet PC too (Surface Pro 3). I originally started playing on a work iPhone, but I left the company a couple of years ago now (gave the phone back) and didn’t want to buy another device just for one game.

One advantage is that you can set the resolution to anything you like… I found the optimal resolution to be 1696 x 954, which has the high definition graphics and still allows you to zoom out really far. I can see a lot on my screen at the same time, which is great for designing.

  26. I am trying to figure out what to do with all the extra obols. I have over 1200 and have everything I pretty much wanted in crafting. At least it was better than past events when I had over 10000 crafting currency to spend.

  27. Got all the free prizes, picked up a few premium items I had passed on previously. The event was fun but dragged towards the end. They really seemed to lose the plot by the end of it. Going to see how many bonuts I can score before the next mini event hits.

  28. I really liked the event, but I am happy it comes to a close now. I am casually picking up a few bonut rounds, but the neverending trick-or-treating and monster fighting has reached the limits of appeal and turned into a grind.

The event was well balanced, it didn’t feel pressured like the future Springfield event, where you might run into trouble with the prize-track if you missed a few days. Also they didn’t repeat their mistake with the future-bucks and just offered one crafting currency to use freely. I ended up getting lots of fences and hedges with leftover currency, as these are usually quite universal to use.

I’ll probably need a bit time-off from TSTO to recharge, but let’s just see what they come up next. Hopefully there will be a Thanksgiving sale and a short event, before a long christmas event starts.

    • Ironically I would have preferred a Future Bucks-like system for this event. For the longest time I wasn’t able to get enough of the items I wanted because I already maxed out the MAG points from that item and was focusing my obols on crafting items to level up. If i had future bucks I could have gotten all the lower level stuff I wanted while still making progress in the crafting track. Still, it’s a moot point as I managed to get everything I wanted anyway.

  29. We don’t really celebrate halloween in Australia, so the treehouse of horror event always drags a bit for me. I mean, I enjoy it for what it is, but wish it didnt go as long or longer than the christmas events. Especially when each act left me with at least 2 or 3 bonut days. Having said that we dont celebrate thanksgiving either, but have literally no reason to recognise it so those mini events are the worst for me… and knowing that is going to be the next update kind of blows hahahah

    • I love the Thanksgiving float balloons, and – of course – those Black Friday deals the day after Thanksgiving 😉

    • I love Halloween (I’m in Canada), but the event has definitely dragged way beyond appropriate, although it was a pretty good event overall. I also don’t really need or care for the Thanksgiving event. We have Thanksgiving here, but it’s long past (always the second Monday in October for us). I don’t really mind it, but like you, it’s just not relevant to me so I’m happy to get it in game as long as it’s like the typical very mini event, almost more like an event tie-in. Then bring on the Black Friday sale, which is great, but you always have to decide how much to spend there vs. saving for new Christmas items… Let’s be into a full Christmas event by Dec 1 and out of it by Jan 3/4.

    • Couldn’t agree more ojmmo, but them’s the breaks when you play a game based on a US show I s’pose.
