Thank you for your responses, unfortunately Explorers Inc is not one of my buildings so No 51 will not be going on a quest. I am guessing that completing that quest opens up the 12 hour quest to sing the stonecutter song at the feasting table, oh well maybe the building will reappear sometime in the future. Happy tapping
I don’t have Explorer’s Inc either, and the Number 51 alien completed his quest to gain the 12 hr task at the Stonecutter’s Table. The 6 hour task is still locked, but it had no affect on the Stonecutters task. Do you have the table placed outside the lodge? (It is a separate item)

My little alien (No 51) has a six hour task that is locked. I cannot see what the task is. I have stored some buildings which may be needed to complete this task. Can anyone help with the details for his task. Thanks

Happy Sunday everyone, Cyclone Otto came through the Caribbean and there’s been flooding and homes completely wiped out. It’s been very heart breaking when little children have gone without food because everything their parents owned has been wiped out. Otto is now making his way to Panama, Nicaragua and Costa Rica now.

Hi to everyone! Hope you’re all having a good Sunday and that everyone in the US north east is staying warm! It got cold overnight and there was a sighting of flurries earlier. I’m stuck at work today, no I’m not working right now, I’m on break. 😛 Taking my good old time with this event, slowly working towards the first animation. I really love the animal sanctuary, so pretty with the rainbow! It’s nice to take a little more time sending everyone on tasks- there have been a lot added that I haven’t noticed! Back to back events had me using the unemployment office to send everyone on 4 hour tasks and just grinding away. With this more leisurely pace I’m enjoying letting Bumblebee Man get chased by bees all day and sending everyone on any task I want regardless of length of time. I’ve been tweaking my town design and playing with Auto Stitch, trying to get some good pics for the Halloween Show Off. Can’t wait to see everyone’s designs!
I downloaded an app on my phone on auto stitch. The end result is a mashed up horror scene. Not sure what is the best way to stitch.
With the addition of the animal sanctuary, my little “library park” has officially become more akin to a mini national park.

I always like it when a library has a park nearby to read in.
Just a suggestion…you might just flip the Buddhist Temple for the Library and do a little wall changing. The temple would fit into the park concept well.
That’s not a bad idea, but there are a few reasons I don’t want to move my Buddhist temple.
I envision Buddhist temples and monasteries as being in the mountains. I guess because Tibet has a lot of mountains, I dunno. So I like having it right against those mountains. And while I agree it fits into the park concept, it’s already right next door to the waterfalls as well as the mountains.
I would probably have to shrink the temple gardens, which I’m really happy with right now. (That or the gardens would take over the whole park, which might or might not work for me. I guess Jesse could still do his yoga there.)
I have kind of a “religious row” going on with the temple and a few different churches all coexisting there.
I also like the library being right near the elementary school so the kids can easily go there. But I might end up playing with it.

Dear EA:
If you’re reading this, I’m sure that all of us would really like you to fix the Insanity Cauldron game glitch that changes 4 of our decorations back to their original base level of appearance. When I only had to change the Players Club Tower to the way I like it, I dealt with it and figured a fix would happen soon. Then I had to also fix the Burn’s Summer Mansion to show both wings. With the Medieval Gate and 1958 Car also needing to be changed, this is getting really annoying. I really really hope that a fix happens with the Winter Event that I’m sure is going to hit our game sometime next week. There’s no point in having decorations that can be displayed differently if they keep changing back to their original version after playing the Insanity Cauldron game. Please EA, fix this glitch sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the tip, but I was just venting and I know that EA sometimes reads the comments.
EA customer service was worst for me after they revamped the system. Now I could not get any chat online with them. I am not from US. They will make me send an email. Then will response to tell me to provide more details when I thought I had already provided. Next they will respond to ask me to provide the super super super long serial ID of my game, which I followed through. Next they will respond to ask me to provide details about the problem again. Then they will close the case.
You can send them a screenshot as an attachment with the long ID instead of copying it.
I did copy mine a long time ago into an E-mail, so it’s handy to copy and paste and just in case my phone gets destroyed. Be sure to archive your note so you can do the same.
Don’t give up on them. It might take a few rounds of back and forth, but if it’s fixable then eventually you’ll get to someone who can fix it. Some support people are better than others, so just try again if the first interaction doesn’t work well. This works with phone support of any kind also.
I think I saw the same problem with the Homerlayas, I recently added Lisa and it reverted back to just Homer. Haven’t checked it lately, though, so someone else should confirm that.
Yes – the Homerlayas is one of the things that resets.

Here is the other thing I’ve been wondering: Do any of you have aversions to particular tasks and/or just really dislike a certain character and choose tasks based on that dislike?
I don’t like tasks that are anti-social, gross, or involve harming or consuming animals (yeah, I’m one of those annoying “vegan” types!). So I don’t let Dora slaughter meat or find ingredients. I usually have her in the “grind gym mats” task. I don’t let Dolph spit in the salad bar (because EW). If I accidentally place him in that task, because I am on a four-hour task roll, I store and unstore the arcade so I can put him in a different task. I don’t let Mindy bake a turkey (glad that she can now spend four hours at Moe’s Brewing Company), I don’t let Chalmers live off the land, don’t let Judge Snyder take a 24-hour vacation. Before Snake got his old-west skin, I only ever used to allow him to pose for police line-ups or do time–unless the game forced me to put him in a “crime” task. Now I let him play with Jeremy or do chores. I don’t let Gummy Joe do anything other than plant shifts, only because the tasks that involve his single tooth skeeve me out.
I dislike Maude because of her four-hour “teach children there is no Heaven” task. I just find that so hateful, especially from a “Churchy Joe” whose 12-hour task is “attend church.” I keep putting her in church and thinking, “Go back to church, you hypocrite.” This is the longest task I can put her in without having to see her (24-hour “haunt Springfield” = “just no”). I don’t like Cecil because he has a smug little face, so I keep throwing him into the 12-hour money counting to minimize how often I need to see the smug little face. Sideshow Bob: I have a grudge against him because of all the times I had to catch him (and sometimes still need to in Other Springfield). Even though it’s only a four-hour task, I keep making him serve a life sentence. Any time I manage to miss him and find him wandering, I’ll think, “Hey! Get back in prison, BOB! What makes you think you can wander around MY Springfield like you own the joint?!?!?!”
I fully realize I’m not being rational. 🙂
VERYMIR- I dislike Jimbo’s 12 hr ‘hacky sack a frog’ (kicking a frog like a football doing keepie-uppies) so much that he lives in the moonbounce 24/7…..💜X
ELLA, I don’t have Jimbo, but if I did, I’d avoid that “hacky sack” task, too.
That is my favorite task and the main reason I bought him. 🙂

There are a couple tasks I don’t like, but it’s mostly about the visual for me. If a task is indoors, I don’t care much what it’s called. I try to keep folks on tasks I enjoy seeing the most. (Sometimes this involves me enjoying a certain building animation. For example, I always have Lucille on her task to “rob a house” because it can animate the Bad Dream House.)
Just to throw it out there, you could store Maude, Cecil and Bob if you dislike them that much. I have a couple characters in storage myself just because I don’t want to look at them. Your Springfield should make you happy, after all.
DrTyler–you’ve reminded me: I put Chalmers into “break character” so much, it’s in-character for him in my Springfield! I did have Maude stored for a little while, but then I decided I’d like to collect $ and XP from her even though I don’t like her. Same goes for Cecil and Bob. Dance for me, monkeys! 😉
If you have the Springfield Bowl and might sometimes check in more often than every 4 hours, it’s profitable to put Chalmers on his break character task there since he earns as much in 1 hour on stage as in 4 hours wandering the streets. He might as well sell his suit in my game…. Pure greed on my part, I don’t really like the task for him and otherwise, without the Bowl performance option, would have him just fishing (I doubt that he catches any fish, but at least he’s not yelling at anybody).
I put Chalmers in the 4-hour “Break character” act at Springfield Bowl sometimes. 🙂
Speaking of this I wish they would give us the option of selecting one default or favourite task for each character then adding that category into the unemployment office for easy selection rather than manually going through over 100 characters to individually select each.
I like this idea. I do have certain favorite tasks I keep repeating.
I wanted Cat Miss Springfield so bad, because I love cats and turns out to be the one and only premium purchase I regret. The act like a cat task is completely gross and offensive to me. Sometimes I’ll send her to be arm candy but most of the time she’s just regular Miss Springfield. At least I got a cool sign out of that deal. The other one I try to never do is send Barney to drink. He spends a lot of time in AA or in the astronaut suit. It’s silly that I feel like I can’t enable an animated character, and I send plenty of others to drink at Moe’s or the Stonecutters building, I just can’t with Barney.
lekittynoir, I don’t have Barney, but I think that if I ever get him, I’ll do the same. 🙂
I’m the same way. Don’t have Barney yet, but the doctor’s wife spends her time shopping or at AA. The goes off the wagon task for her just seems cruel. Keep her sober, I say.

Nothing that involves vomiting for me….that’s a real-life phobia of mine (plus it’s just plain gross). I was only finally able to get Barney when they came out with Astronaut Barney…he stays in that skin pretty much full-time, unless his regular skin is needed for a particular event task or daily task.
I have Snake in a permanent 24 hr prison cycle and I love to send Bob on a Meet Your Raker task. I have 12 rakes spaced apart all the way down the beach… he just walks the line over and over. My least favorite character is Artie Zifff ( sooooo smarmy)… he has permanent Jury Duty. What worse punishment could there be?
I put Artie in jury duty all the time, too. I hate it when I’m on a 24-hour task roll and accidentally put him in that “propose to Marge” task. Then I store Ziff’s Tower to cancel.
So glad to know I’m not the only one… I only let Dora serve lunch or grind mats (or a nursing task, can’t remember). The bullies and Arsonist Ralphie are stuck going to school 24/7 except in events when they participate. I tried bouncing them periodically to see if that would improve their behavior…. I’ll let one of them play video games sometimes. I used to have Kearney take care of his son a lot, but he’s better off in school (not in detention, want him to learn something). Wish Moocher adult Bart had a “get a real job” task. Young original Bart is not allowed to skip school. Sideshow Bob spends most of his time in jail.
Mrs. Crabapple gets to gamble at the Woodstock Casino most of the time to get away from the brats, and the doctor is gambling 24/7 to keep him from causing more trouble for people than he’s worth. I don’t like to let Gerald smash butterflies but he gets to mess with Maggie’s stuff all he wants (she can take care of herself). I let the principal go around in Western gear most of the time also to avoid the brats, if I can I’ll let him do birdwatching for 24 hours to relax. Mona and grandpa are usually together feeding birds or dancing. I also let the career criminal play with Jeremy or do chores in Western gear, but earlier I also kept him alternating between prison and lineups (great minds thinking alike). I don’t let the doctor’s wife fall off the wagon. And so on and so on …. It can be hard finding respectable tasks for some characters!
Heh, I also don’t let Bart skip school. I used to occasionally put him in that task by accident, and then I’d immediately store the treehouse to cancel. Now I usually have him in his Bartman costume doing premium tasks. Any character with a costume that garners premium rates, I’ll just keep them in costume unless the game requires otherwise. So my Stonecutters are mostly always in their robes, except Mr. Burns, who has super-premium Moneybags tasks (I just pretend the gorilla suit is artificial). Comic Book Guy is in Karate Garb doing martial arts unless he has a quest.
Hello, fellow addicts! A couple of things that have been on my mind…. What features do you wish EA would add to the game. Here are a couple of my wishes:
(1) Buildings with multiple character tasks, such as Moe’s, the Stonecutter buildings, or the Big Theater: I wish we had the option of tapping on the building and then selecting any and all characters with tasks in the building (similar to the SH-resource buildings and recycling buildings). One of my peeves is one I have a group of characters finished all at once from one of those buildings, I tap the thumbs, wish to put them all right back into the task in question, and they all start to wander off. Where the heck are they all in such a hurry to get to, anyway? Sometimes I have to chase after them clear across town.
(2) A “building” finder, similar to the character finder we can use when we tap on Town Hall. With a large Springfield, I sometimes forget where I placed a building! This would especially come in handy when I realize that I either put a character in a task by mistake, or I have a new quest that requires I character locked into a task already. It would be great to have a quick way to get to the building associated with the character to kill the task by storing and unstoring the building.
Since this message is already quite long, I will post another with the other thing rattling in my head….
I like your building ideas. One little tweak I would like is for them to make the list from the town hall either bigger or searchable (maybe you could tap on a letter or range). At the mo it can take ages to scroll through.
I would like to choose the landing point of my choice. For example, in this event I am working on the National Park section of my town and when neighbors visit I would like them to land there and see that instead of the Simpsons house. If I bought the “improvised snare” and other neighbors were curious to see it before buying they could land in the area that I have it instead of searching towns trying to find it. This would be a great way for your neighbors to see your latest creation that otherwise they may miss as they tap through their friends.
Some small item could work as the landing beacon (maybe a beacon?)…then we could place it wherever we choose.
That would be cool!

I just want fewer restrictions on what can be placed on certain ground cover. I want to embed my minnow pond into a larger body of water, I want cars on the road, I want debris on dirt, and I want all buildings to go on either grass or pavement. Etc.
Yes, I’d like to be able to place cars on roads and also on parking lots. For the parking lots, I create the illusion by removing a lot, replacing it with concrete, and putting the car onto it–but it never looks quite right.
I would personally enjoy a customizable ‘favorites folder’ where you can tag certain buildings into you personal favorites section(s). This would eliminate lengthy searching in your folders for each item to find those couple of items for a section you are working on. It would be ideal to be able to tag items when you select them from the build screen or from the item listings. I wouldn’t mind using IGC to make the folders with appropriate scaling to the number of folders you have.
I would love it if EA would add 2, 3, 6, 10, etc. hour tasks to the job manager. Also, if we could organize our own inventories. It would be nice to be able to sort by halloween, Christmas, forest, or whatever else we want to categorize items by. Those are my top two requests 🙂
Along those lines, I wish that every character had all the task lengths: 60m, 2 hours, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, and 24.
I wish they would fix the way we scroll through the inventory back to the way it was. It gets frustrating having to rescroll through my entire inventory just to get to where I was prior to placing an item. I miss just being able to place an item, reopen my inventory and then look through the items where I left off instead of placing me back at the beginning.
I totally agree…scrolling thru the “misc” inventory over and over is a nightmare.
When you scroll to the item you want, before you place it, close out the inventory using the X in the upper right (not hitting the back arrow). When you go back into the inventory, it should be right where you left off. This only works for individual inventory tabs, not the main inventory.
Yes, yes, yes to number one…I wish you could send characters on tasks either by character or by building. I also wish the unemployment office offered the choice of all of the possible timeframes, even if there are only a few charters who can use some of them. Sometimes I’d like to, say, send as many characters on 3-hour tasks as possible and only send them on a 4-hour task when they don’t have a 3-hour option.
Rather than having to store the IRS building I would like a toggle on the task bar to turn the tax collection on or off. It could be hidden in the brown box so those who don’t want the functionality don’t have to see it.
Super mild mini event, should allow plenty of time to regroup for the winter/holiday event. Hey MAB

Didn’t get any gardening done today because I was plotting a new water feature… A vortex fountain! However, living in a small city finding the things I need is going to be a challenge so I made a prototype just to see if it works before going to all the effort of sourcing things. And it worked! So now I need to find an acrylic or glass cylinder vase and then work out how to make holes in it. The university has a glass blower who makes equipment for the Pharmacy Department – think I will have to pay him a visit. Now time for a bath!

I got the last prize yesterday, just the two animations to go and this mini event is complete for me. Time for another cup of tea while I wait for the tasks to finish!
I binged watched Westworld ep 1 to 7 and finished up my fringe final season which I KIV for past few years. As a whole, I really like the first four seasons. Final season was not that good for me but at least they complete the series rather than cancelling. I really enjoyed Westworld. I noticed decorative masks showing the faces of two celebrities on the wall of Dr Ford office : Donnie Yen and Marlon Brando. Anyone noticed it?
TSTO wise, completed Thanksgiving. Waiting for Black Friday. I think my town will be packed after the coming purchases.
Haven’t noticed the celebrity masks but I’ll make a point to search them out next time! That last episode was a doozy!
Yeah I think the mask thing is like a fun easter. Too bad I could not recognise the other faces
Saw some of the spoiler comments about Black Friday offering very few “good” character deals. Hope EA makes some changes and offers characters like they did last year.

The return of fall TV has kept me quite occupied. A strong season 28 of The Simpsons; blindsides galore on Survivor again; good laughs on The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and New Girl; fun new shows like Lethal Weapon, Pitch, Designated Survivor, Notorious, Bull, Conviction, and Pure Genius; fun comic book characters appearing in Gotham and Marvel Agents of SHIELD; and best of all the great arcs on Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. Really looking forward to seeing the upcoming, four-show, five-episode, three-part crossover between all four Arrowverse shows. It will be awesome to see Green Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and the Legends on the small screen together.
TSTO comment:
Halloween was fun. Really like the slow pace of this Thanksgiving mini-event ahead of Christmas. But my favourite TSTO time of the year is coming – Black Friday sales. Hope many premium characters I still don’t have go on sale this year.

Without posting any spoilers, given what you’re hoping for, I think you’re going to be disappointed in Black Friday this year. You might want to check a spoiler site now…I was glad I did. (It helped me decide to go ahead and spend some donuts during this event that I probably wouldn’t have, otherwise. Plus, I was glad to get the disappointment out of the way sooner, rather than continue to let my excitement build any farther.)
Sorry to be such a downer…maybe if you look at the list, you’ll feel differently.
