Episode Recap: “Dad Behavior” (S28:E8)

It’s Thanksgiving Day and instead of taking a break from schoolwork, I took a quick break from the wonderful smells emanating from the kitchen and the obligatory marathon on FXX to keep up with my episode recaps. One of the many features we like to have on this site is recaps of new Simpsons episodes for all our friends who can’t watch them immediately or like our silly reviews of them. I love when there are new episodes of the Best. Show. Ever. on TV and it’s my privilege to not only watch new episodes, which I would do with or without this awesome site, but then break them down for all of you. I stuck to the stream of consciousness format for this. Basically I watch the episode once for my enjoyment and then a couple more times slowly to catch as much as I can while jotting down notes. Without further ado… here’s my thoughts on Season 28, Episode 8 “Dad Behavior.”

Most Dangerous Game/Thanksgiving 2016 and the Conform-O-Meter

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Most Dangerous Game/Thanksgiving Event released a bunch of items into our Springfields.  Everything from hunting stores to Bunny throwers to Indian Casinos to Giant Parade Balloons!  So let’s take a look at how these new and old items impact our Conform-O-Meter…

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

While the Thanksgiving event brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, it did bring a bunch of buildings and decorations.  So let’s take a look at how all of the new “goodies” impact our rating: Continue reading →

Winter 2016 – The View From a Seasoned Christmas Veteran

This is an experiment. You are all part of it. But in full disclosure, I’m not sure if you need to participate or not, beyond simply clicking below the fold to read what’s there.

You see…I have a pretty storied history with EA, and being able to force their hand to start a major event when I want it to start.  All I have to do, is spend a bunch of time preparing a post about what’s in store. And like magic, EA will start the update, if for no other reason, than to render all of my hard work moot. It’s a love/hate thing.

This will be my 4th Winter/Christmas EA event. NO…WAIT…my FIFTH! Five Years. Not Four. Not three…or two…FIVE.. That is a whole lot of experience from which to draw.

For that reason, I am uniquely qualified to PREDICT THE FOLLOWING about the upcoming Winter Event…which will no doubt start within an hour of this post going live. EA hates me. But, I will fall on my icicle and “take one for the team” if it means we can start Winter/Christmas 2016 on time.
