Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

After  a week off the Simpsons are back this week with an all new episode, what do you think will happen in this week’s episode?

The Thanksgiving/Most Dangerous game mini event ended early last week…and now we wait.  When do you think the next update will hit?  What do you think it will be?

How was your weekend?  Do anything fun and exciting?  We’ve spent the weekend surrounded by Christmas.  Taking Riley to the Christmas Village, Breakfast with Santa and on Monday we’re taking her to Macys in NYC to see Santa.  It’s a Christmas/Santa filled weekend around here!

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of!  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. Quick question. Are there ever in game sales on donuts? If so what time of year? I’m getting gift cards for the holidays and want to make sure to redeem for donuts at the most advantageous time. Thanks

  2. Just a follow up to my tech issue involving the game. EA has promptly returned my Toy Workshop, and as a show of good faith, added 20 donuts to my account as well. Although stated that the building was in my inventory all along. I swear I checked for the Toy Workshop like 4 times before submitting a ticket, and it was not showing on my end. It would have been within the “Buildings” Category right? I’m sorry but I don’t see how I would have missed it… lol

  3. In my honest opinion, all this is is a game you play on your phone. I don’t understand all the drama around this Christmas 2016 event. Do you not watch the Simpsons and know how they create their content? It’s pretty simple either complain and don’t play the game or just play the game and don’t take every-single-little-tiny thing seriously. I hate how 2016 has become to climax for how politically correct everything in the world needs to be or people complain. Everyone has to always complain about something they don’t agree with. I will be playing this event which I’m sure a very vast majority of you still are. I highly doubt most of you will protest to stop playing the game and nothing you guys/girls do will stop EA from changing the event… So take a deep breath and relax and play the game.

  4. Hi, A quick message to Alissa & Patric. I haven’t ever commented before ( one of Patric’s silent statistics) but I have been a very grateful recipient of advice and info that I have found on this site. I came today to see what was up with my gnome box, and the glitch and cure was very clearly found, but then I also came across the aftermath of what seems to have been some very nasty aggravation towards the two of you around the content of this GAME. One of the reasons I don’t like to get involved in commenting on any blog or site is that the internet seems to have a large number of people who feel that the semi-anonymous nature of it allows them to throw out any sense of fairplay, modesty, decorum, politeness, civility, and basic human decency. We all have our own opinions, we all have our own beliefs, and one aspect of a civilized person is to allow others to hold those opinions and beliefs without fear of attack or hurt from others with different opinions, and certainly not to turn on those who urge for calm and consideration of others. I don’t care whether anyone agrees or disagrees with EA, & I believe it’s not anyones place to tell anyone else how to feel, but when actions are taken that cause upset and distress to someone else then that just ain’t right. I just wanted you both to know that this site is a precious resource to those whose just want to play, and play as best they can. I love the event tapping target calendars, the walkthroughs, the ‘should I spend my doughnuts’ etc and especially the problems and fixes. Without this site I would probably have given up on TO way before I got to level 100! Thank you for the voluntary hours you put in, please keep going with this site, please don’t listen to the hate mongers, who are probably only a very small number of those who visit here. It is a shame that they took out their anger on you when they weren’t clever enough to figure out that if they aren’t happy with EA then they need to direct that at EA and not you guys. The real world is a pretty awful place most of the time and I play games to get away from that, so I was sad to see some of that awful end up here. I hope this helps to make you feel more appreciated. x

  5. Hi, I’ve been wanting to comment on a few things. First of all the past Sci-Fi event. It wasn’t very good IMO. The writing was pretty weak, it wasn’t a very good plot and the tasks weren’t really fun. It just seemed like a poorly written event altogether. Also the superheroes 2 event was too big and long and I didn’t enjoy it too much. It seems also like they keep making all of these unnecessary premium items just to make money during these updates.

Okay having said that, the Halloween event was okay. I was a bit disappointed that you had to buy count burns as opposed to earning him with the castle. I bought Sherri & Terri because I love their shining or should I say “shinning” trick or treating task, also I had to get Shauna as she was time limited and used to complete the Toughies collection.

The Black Friday event was the worst Black Friday event ever. There weren’t a lot of good character/building combo’s on sale. It’d be nice to see more regular characters E.g. Jumbo, Manjula, Uter, etc on sale, as in previous Black Friday sales. It’s too bad that Marge’s mom was only on sale for 1 day during the Thanksgiving event, and the other characters were there for the whole event.

I have no gripes with the Winter event so far at least, and am looking forward to getting lucille botzcowski, and a few other things, I’ll have to go through the event to see how good it is but on a casual glance the prizes so far don’t seem to be too inspiring unfortunately…

  6. Does anyone know which characters and which skins can earn event currency for this update?

  7. WARNING! DO NOT STORE PREMIUM ITEMS FOR THE TIME BEING.

Last night I had Ralph on a task, when a quest for him popped up thanks to unlocking an event item. He was in his Elf suit, so my initial thought was to store the Toy Workshop and it might free him up (Forgetting he’s connected to the Wiggum house at the time, it was late) To my dismay, not only did it not free up Ralph, but when I went to re-place the building back in my town, it had done a Houdini act, and went poof from my inventory. Checked the forums, I’m not the only person having this type issue. Yes I have contacted EA, have a case open, but they said it could take 24+ hours to resolve. At worst case scenario, you may get your donuts back for the item and not the building. Thanks EA, so now Ralph has a skin that has quests for a building I may not be able to re-purchase, since it was a building/skin combo. Hoping this gets resolved.

    • This just happened to me and have to wait up to 72 hours for a response. I would prefer the toy workshop.

      • As would I…I still have the Ralph skin, but without the building he has tasks I’ll never be able to use. Can still do some of them, but not all. Was told should be resolved in 24 hours for mine

  8. So at last we have our Christmas event!!😄
Nobody predicted this one. I like it.
It certainly wasn’t what I expected, especially Lisa’s comment ‘Everyone who reads the Bible is a nut job.’ a bit harsh but probably true.

  9. Hey Neighbours
Sorry I haven’t been in my town the last week or so….Hubs broke his foot pretty bad and I’ve been tired. For my older neighbors you know I’ll be back for the Xmas event visiting daily. Thanks for understanding!
    Sincerely,
    Sliqstream
