Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The snow is falling in Springfield, which can only mean Winter has arrived in our pocket-sized towns! And is in full swing on our devices.
In a change of pace, this Event is broken up into just 2 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Antlers (
) to unlock each prize!
The fourth Act 1 Prize awarded at 35,800 is New God Mr. Burns, because it’s only natural that a Pagan Event would have Mr. Burns convinced people need to worship him…
So let’s take a closer look at this fourth prize and just what happens when you unlock him in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 35,800 you’ll automatically be awarded New God Mr. Burns and you’ll see this message popup:
A couple of important things with this…you’ll automatically unlock the costume for Mr. Burns once you’ve unlocked the item. However, if you’ve unlocked it while visiting a neighbor or in Krustyland check your inventory when you come back, as Mr. Burns won’t have the skin. Also important, the Statue won’t immediately unlock…so you won’t find it in your inventory immediately. You’ll have to complete some of the questline before you can unlock the Statue.
Mr. Burns will become New God Mr. Burns..
And he’s part of the Winter 2016 character collection…
New God Mr. Burns does come with a questline, which will help you unlock the statue you see picture in the prize box. Here’s a look at the Turbo Tappin’ version of that questline now….

The dialog between Montgomery (New God) Burns and Mr Smithers is lol inducing (this Event is chock full of funny banter amongst Springfield Characters) ….
New God Burns Statue is on the Burns / Smithers Estate (where Montgomery Burns can admire himself, as Smithers makes sure “nothing comes between him and Mr Burns) 😄
It’s probably supposed to be a bronze statue, but as the statue is standing half naked in the snow, it seems to me as if he’s very cold 😉
New God Burns reminds me of the Pillar Men from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Needless to say, when I unlocked him, I said “Awaken, my masters!” and started listening to the theme song for the Pillar Men.
Does anyone know if the currency changes for the Act 2?

I was in a neighbor’s town when I earned this but was not in my inventory. Got it fixed up with a nice email rather than having to waste time on a chat.

God Burns is so far one of the funniest things in the game. Unlocked him few nights ago, today he’s posing on top of Power Plant, showing himself of! 😂 I also love how Plant has a banner saying God Burns. Great addition.
Not sure if I’ll be able to unlock last two prizes, only 3 days left and I’m still low on points. So far I have 45000, and usually I’d have much more until this point. I’ll get the next prize, but I have no idea if I’ll be able to unlock Parson in time.

Are you turning in catnip/statues beyond the 4 needed for the daily prize? I’ve found in the comments that most who are behind are struggling for that reason. If you haven’t already, go ahead and turn in what you have and you should catch right up.
I’m sorry if this is a really obvious question, but can I keep Winter Burns collecting antlers for now and work through the questline after the event? Thank you!

I just got The Parson last night so I can officially say the New God Burns is by far the best prize in Act 1. I’m not usually the type to keep my characters in alternate skins but they’re killing it with Burns. He has some fantastic skins and this is no different.

I don’t have Smithers yet but I’ve unlocked the God burns skin. Does anyone know if I’ll still be able to get the burns statue after the event is over or will the quest line disappear ?

I have not seen any pagans in my town nor have I seen any pagans or gnomes in my neighbor’s visits. Love this game but am disappointed.
Delete app data, uninstall, turn device completely off, turn back on, and reinstall, it fixed it for me, im a day behind now…
Oh man, this is greatness. His visual tasks are just stellar.
Maybe it’s just the neophyte in me talking (I started playing this Halloween), but I like the costume and the story line that comes with it.
The statue is for now in the town square, but I’m rather short on space, trying to save up $ for more land and more buildings. Eventually, I’ll move it elsewhere. Perhaps, I’ll have a park with statues like the Grounds for Sculpture in NJ.
Off-topic…but is it just me..or is there a server issue going on? Game is not comnecting since this afternoon…even with the tried and true clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc.
I’m also having issues. I don’t have the elf finder but my friends do. The singing stones work, but when you’re tasked to tap them nothing happens. It starts at 0/8 then goes to 1/8 then immediately back to 0/8. I’ve emailed ea and have heard nothing back. So maybe I should receive 4 days of points that I’ve lost
You’re supposed to find the ‘combination’ for the singing stone. Just try tapping each one or double tap some stone. It was confusing i know

I had the elf finder but it’s just disappeared. So no elf bonus . Usually it’s never just a single person with the issues and ea will probably patch it soon enough , but just in case get in touch with ea and report the problem .. no elf ☹️
Just check the many, many comments and posts over the past few days that give very clear and detailed instructions. This is abolutely not an issue to contact EA about, nor one to expect any kind of compensation for.
What is singing stone?
I love new god burns and since I’m not a Christian I kinda dig a change of pace. I understand the fuss though. Anyways I’m having no problem getting all prizes what about you guys?
