Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The snow is falling in Springfield, which can only mean Winter has arrived in our pocket-sized towns! And is in full swing on our devices.
In a change of pace, this Event is broken up into just 2 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Antlers (
) to unlock each prize!
The sixth Act 1 Prize awarded at 50,050 is the Cult Flying Saucer, because the Movementarians are plotting to take over…
So let’s take a closer look at this sixth prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 52,050 you’ll automatically be awarded the Cult Flying Saucer and you’ll see this message popup:
And you’ll have the option to place it in your Springfield immediately or store it in your inventory for later. Remember if you store it you’ll have to go back into your inventory to retrieve it.
The Flying Saucer does come with a little bit of dialogue and a task to tap it. Here’s a look…

Homer: AAAAAAHHH! The Rigellians are back to destroy our world!
Frink: According to my analysis, this is just a replica of your typical flying saucer. Yes, this vehicle was built with plywood, metal scraps, and cheap light bulbs. It’s basically a toy for grown-ups.
Homer: AAAAAAHHH! Everybody take cover! The Rigellians are attacking us with toy flying saucers!

Maybe I’m missing something, but shouldn’t this be a halloween prize? Does this have anything to do with Paganism? OR Christmas?
Well, people with conflicting beliefs sometimes accuse each other of bing cults…
I once had my best friend’s husband tell me my religion was a cult…so I can see this happening.
It’s been my observation that absolutely no set of beliefs is completely free of things that someone could reasonably look at and go “That’s pretty darn weird.” =]

I’m a little disappointed that it doesn’t (at least currently) make the Hoverbike™ “hovering” noise when tapped. I knew that getting my hopes up for it to fall apart midair was setting myself up for heartbreak, but no hovering noise? T_T

Help! There’s a madman running down everyone on the sidewalk in his golf-kart! He seems to be waving to everyone!
I wasn’t too excited about the parson until his 24 hour task. It looks as if he’ll be tooling around my Springfield for eternity. Hilarious! Now if we can get all the characters to drive around Springfield; cars, trucks, go-karts, golf-karts, bikes, skateboards…etc.
I’m really looking forward to the final prize. I won’t spoil it for the rest.

Lisa has her car, Bart has his skateboard, Marge has her broom, Homer has his sleigh, Rev has his train, Ralph has his bicycle, Sebastian has his hover board, Sanjay has his skateboard and now Parson has his golf cart…are there any more that I missed?

This prize seems to be incongruous with the event. I don’t get it.
With everyone turning to paganism, no one is going to church, so they have sent some churchy superstar to get the butts back in the seats. That’s how I see it.

I would like to store my flying saucer, but, based on some little tidbits I’ve *think* I’ve seen (i’ve been trying to avoid spoilers) here in various posts about part of the theme of Act 2, I’m afraid maybe it will be needed for something. Any idea whether that’s true or whether it’s safe for me to store it?
You can always un-store it later. If you’ll need it, usually the game lets you know. Or you can come here and check, somebody will sure let you know 🙂
I got a late start on this Event so just started working towards the flying saucer. Is it too late for me to have a chance at unlocking the Parson? I sure hope not…
I love, love, love the “Joy of Sect” episode, so cannot wait to unlock this prize. It’s the only thing that’s kept me playing 🙂
