Should I Spend Donuts On the Wiccans?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The snow is falling in Springfield and that can only mean it’s Winter time in our pocket sized towns!  And of course it wouldn’t be an event in Springfield without premium items in our stores, just tempting us to spend sprinkles on them!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Wiccans to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Wiccan Trio to your Springfield…

charactersets_thewiccangirls

Characters: The Wiccans
Donut Price: 110 Dounts
What Are They: Full character(s), with tasks.  3 characters act as 1, like Sherri and Teri.

Leaves Stores when the Event Ends

Pros
-Help earn Chicken Fingers and Books for Act 2
-Comes with a full questline
-Earn at a premium rate.  They’re supposed to earn at 150% of regular characters, BUT at the moment they do not.  They only earn at a standard premium rate.  (hint, hint for EA to fix it…)
-Fun outdoor tasks

Cons
-Over priced for just a character (even if it is 3 in one)
-Can’t earn Chicken Fingers and Books at the same time, you’ll have to choose which one you’ll need to earn at that time

Final Thought
Premium
So this is really the only new premium character offered for this event.  So if you’ve been saving up for characters, this isn’t a terrible pickup.  Especially if EA corrects the payout issue.  However, it’s still a meh character(s) in my mind.  So if you’re not completely sold…pass.

Freemium
Freemium players I’d pass on this one.  I know there are a bunch of you who save donuts just for characters..but this one is really meh in my opinion.  And they’re not needed to complete the event.  So personally, I’d save my freemium donuts for better characters on the horizon…

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you as a premium player, I’ll likely pass.  Doesn’t really do anything for me. Just remember these are limited-time, so if you’re thinking about grabbing them make sure you do before  it leaves our game on December 30th.

Here’s a look at the Wiccans’ Permanent Tasks:

  1. Yay, EA fixed the bonus on The Wiccans and now it actually earns 350% on tasks as originally advertised. Instant buy for me cuz it’s like spending 36 donuts on a premium character but u have to buy it in threes.

  2. Fun Characters
    Amusing Tasks

I can’t say they’re worth the Donuts / Bonuts due to the fact I think EA is making them available as Premium that doesn’t pay out premium on purpose (so many opportunities & EA is kinda blowing it lately) 🤔

  3. The 350% advertised made it an instant buy. If not true, wouldn’t have spent the donuts, would have saved for characters with longer animated tasks.

  4. I’m confused. In the game, it says this character earns 300% more than a standard character, which would be $2400 for 24 hour task(600 + 1800).
However, in the ‘pros’ section above, it says the character is supposed to earn %150 more and the tasks column above shows them actually earning only %50 more (standard premium rate).

  5. Instant Buy for me! I loved this episode, (Being alternative looking & minded) I love their look, I know they’ll make me happy seeing them in my town. I hope they have a task with the new Lisa Skin. I normally dislike Christmas stuff, so I’m LOVING this event too!

  6. You have negated to mention if achieving all other Skins and the only Character, the Parson, that you would complete the set of Winter 2016 thus ensuring bonus % for all included tasks for the collective group.

  7. I bought them right away based on the big payout. They are locked for the event doing the B.O.S. task, so hopefully EA fixes them up afterwards. I wonder if the fact they didn’t want them pumping out 350% of the event currency is what caused the low money payout?

    • Likely not. Premium characters earn event currency at a rate independent from their regular tasks. Remember last Halloween? We had Sherri & Terri earning event currency at the same rate as the other premium characters.

  8. I bought them, but since I have them doing tasks for the event I didn’t notice the payout issue. I do remember the info on the store saying that they earn at a rate of 350%, though, NOT 150% (which would have been just a regular premium character). Pretty much the reason why I bought them.

  9. Love it.

  10. I bought them for a couple reasons. My best friends in high school were pretty much this archetype, looking for answers outside what they viewed as the mainstream. They were interesting people I could relate to, and they were good friends. The best of them passed away four years ago, and I still miss her every day. In a (perhaps silly) way, I spent donuts in her memory.
From a pure gaming standpoint, I do wish they were three independent characters, with longer visual tasks and proper payout.
They should also definitely have a task to stay up all night drinking coffee. We did that so much.

  11. As a freemium farmer, I consider any new character a “good buy”. In fact- I would guess that anyone who has all or most of the standard characters, and wants more characters, will buy any new character that comes along. Why not? If you’ve got doughnuts to spare, then any new character is worth the cost (character. Not skin).
