Update: Just got home and had a chance to pull the files. This is a PERMANENT addition to the game (Shelbyville stuff), so it’s sticking around for awhile.
Just saw 2 returning items in our stores as well. The Snow Globe for 225 Donuts with a 100 Donut Rebate, net 125. Offering 750 
. And the Ice Palace with Ice Princess Martin for 120 Donuts, with a 40 Donut Rebate, net 80 Donuts. Offering 480. Links will take you to previous SIB posts, my opinion on both remains unchanged, even with the price drop. Snow Globe is over priced and HUGE. Ice Palace is HUGE, ok price if you’re a fan of Disney.

Well looks like EA found a way to get players to spend cash in the game…
When you log into your towns today you’ll see this message:
If you go to the part of your game where you actually pay cash for donuts, you’ll see that various donut packages offer an item from Lemon of Troy when you purchase the package:
Looks like EA is finally giving something to players who spend cash on donuts and forcing others to pay up if they want the content.
I know this is going to tick a lot of you off, but this is EA’s way of making money since they’re giving away so many donuts. I expect to see more things like this in the future…
Once decent thing is the characters are at the lower price points. (Note these are US prices. Your prices will be adjusted based on your country. However, these are the base prices EA charges. Any increase in pricing is because of taxes charged via Apple or Google). Here’s a breakdown..and with a look at what might be coming next…
–Shelbyville Manhattan- Stack of 60 Donuts. FULL Character, with tasks
Ned’s Winnebago- Tray of 132 Donuts
–Jebediah Springfield- Truckload of 300 Donuts FULL Character, with tasks
Shelbyville Car Impound Lot- Store Full of 900 Donuts
–Shelbyville Manhattan Statue- Boatload of 2400 Donuts
I will have details on these items up later, BUT I won’t be doing a Should I Buy. This is more about what you can afford to buy than anything else. Personally I’m just happy gift cards are on sale at Costco right now.
Oh and one other thing..if you scroll through your Character Collections you’ll notice one at the very end, it’s new…
I think you’ll all be pleasantly surprised at what you’ll find inside this collection…

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the cost for donuts has gone up?
I suppose it’s a good thing but the reality is that if you want all 5 items it’s going to cost you $185 AND it’s causing you to buy donuts inefficiently by having to buy packs of $4.99, $9.99, $19.99, $49.99 & $99.99. Giving away items with donut purchases is great but the items should also be available to purchase in the store. I never purchase less than the $99.99 pack and now I have to spend and additional $85.00 to get the other four items and not get the best value for my money.
I was ticked off when they did this and hope it’s a one time thing. I have a lot of Doughnuts and would have got them all if I could pay with Doughnuts. But, since I have all the character (somewhere around 225 now?), so I had to have Jebadiah and Shelbyville which was 25 dollars plus tax. What will really tick me off is if they show up for Doughnuts only after paying cash for them. I paid a ton in the beginning and then just kept building up doughnuts using some patterns and a couple defects. I mostly jumped all over the rat traps. Using fake money I was able to max out levels, get Mt Springmore, and best of all load up on Doughnuts. That was some serious tapping, but stopped me from going broke!
Has anyone else had their bonus donuts stop appearing after 1000000 xp? I just harvested my kwik e marts and didn’t get any donuts. The counter ticked over a few times but nothing.

CHRIS- My level up bar is working on my A game. However, I’m not sure about KEMs. I tried it with a bloodmobile & also with a rat truck & it levelled up & gave me bonuts. Perhaps someone else can chip in re. KEMs specifically. This post is merely to let you know it still works…..💜X

I think I’m going to get the $19.99 bundle for the Jebediah character. I want the donuts to finally get Disco Stu. EA loves to screw my efforts with the Heights by giving event tasks to characters who make yoga mats which is the biggest bottleneck of the Heights.

I’d already bought the $19.99 pkg, & received the bonus with it. I want to buy another, but I have to buy a different pkg. in order to get the bonus☹️☹️
And the Founders collection?
OK of all the complaining I’ve done about this, I rescind those comments. I just assume everything in this game is limited time now in which case I couldn’t do it. In fact I like the idea now that I know it’s permanent.
I very, very rarely buy donuts in bulk. I do one scratcher a day unless I’m on a Ramen budget. I’ll just have to stop buying my beloved scratchers and save them up. That way by the end of summer I’ll have it all. Crisis averted.
Now that I’ve decided not to quit playing over this, I better go finish up the event!

Can you purchase more than one donut pack and get more than 1 bonus character?
I mean like buying 2 of the $4.99 packs and get two different characters.
No, the free gift disappears after you purchase the pack.
I think this is horrible. If I want to have every character now I have to buy donuts? So if I ever bought donuts in the past I don’t get retribution for that….way to rip off those of us that can’t afford to be spending money on frivolity of a game.
Had about $20 in my Google Rewards account (everyone uses this right? Adds up and it’s free donuts), I usually have enough saved up to pay for a platinum scratcher when it’s offered,,,or most of one. Been a while though.
Got Shelbyville Manhattan and the Winnebago. 2% bonus on the Winnebago. Shelbyville is pretty amusing so far. No regrets but then again I didn’t spend real money. May one day get Jeremiah but meh, no rush. I can’t ever see getting the other 2.
