22 December: Problems at EA
EA is having issues since 10:48 AM EST.
This is from the alert status at downdectector.com.
No way of knowing how long the problems will persist, but it is creating a problem with logging into the game, give you a “YOU HAVE BEEN LOGGED OUT” message. Even using your proper Origin ID does not solve the problem.
WHAT TO DO???
Wait it out. Do NOT go through the nightmare of trying to reset your password, or contact EA for help. We will give you a notice when the issue is resolved.
So relax. Go watch a nice Christmas movie…or learn all of the words to “Here we come a Wassailing”…or better yet, MAKE some Wassail. It is LOADED with happy holiday booze.

UPDATE– The system seems to be back up, sporadically. Make sure you use your Origin email and password… do not be freaked out by “your game has been logged into another device.” It is just the system resetting and recognizing your padular device.
I don’t know if this is happening to others… Every single day, TSTO redownloads the entire game. Now it’s doing it for the second time today. Takes a couple of hours… Which of course cuts into play time and is just completely annoying! Is this happening to anyone else?
Might not have been an EA server problem but a general net problem along the route between their servers and your computers.
My internet was down most of the time on December 22 for both Frontier dsl and Comcast cable. According to others on the net having the same problem getting their work done on Frontier at least, their big troubles started about 10:30am EST although I was working in the wee hours and it was flakey then, cleared up briefly around 8am EST or so, then got worse by 10:30am. It was mostly down with occasional couple of minutes up from then on for me. Computer was fine, connection to modems was fine, modems thought they were connected to the net. But the net just wasn’t there…. I was having withdrawal pains. At least my phone’s cellular network was working although slow and so I could do some searching and dictionary work although not terribly efficiently. So Google’s servers were not necessarily the problem but something in between.
The last time both my fast isp’s were down together, some doofus had cut through a trunk line in a neighboring state and after an interminable amount of time (more than a day), they both sprang to life at the same time on two different computers that had browsers open.
I used a small window on the google page which just had a “Safari can’t find the server, you’re not connected to the internet, nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah” type message on it to monitor the perilous situation. Sometime after midnight, the net suddenly came back to life for me and up popped Google on that page. No problem since then.
Of course server-based games were out for the duration, I usually only play those on wifi.
Well…as ALL of EA’s origin games were down, as well as TSTO…it was definitely the EA Origin server.
I have been locked out for 12 hours now. If I try to log in, my password is incorrect. If I use the “forgot password”‘ the timer on the screen just spins & spins, never going to another screen. Is there anything else to try?
Use a computer to go to ea website. Try to login or just click forgot password. Change password. (I may have turned phone off and on before trying new password). That worked for me.
I encountered this, too; I was able to login on the second try.
Because not everyone can get them. If yr teying to decide between good for yr pets or yrself then $100 in doughnuts is ridiculous
I think I know why they went down…to reset the donut purchases…does everyone sees that new characters and decorations are available if you pay REAL money.
I know that this is off topic but how do I spend my coupons and where do they show them in the game? Thanks for the help.

Restarted my phone and that seem to fix the donut issue. Just restarting the game did not help. I now see the donut packages and their respective gifts…
I noticed that there are items with donut packages and there is a homer the heretic character collection, I wonder if this was intended for after this event and that EA accidently released them early due to the server issues.
Just got in no problem. Had a new deal where I could purchase donuts and get characters and decorations.
Just downloaded an update. Herschel Krustofsky is now in my “Homer the Heretic” Character collection!!
Just noticed this, as well as the bonus characters with donuts. Darn I just bought donuts before this lol. Looks like I’m buying again. Question: is the princess nerd questline important? It just popped up for me to buy the Ice palace with ice Martin even though I have that costume, as well as the snow globe for 100 donut rebate!! Ice palace or snow globe (opinion??)
The Snow globe brings all the Simpsons (including grandpa and the dog) together in a visual job- two hours long – and has pretty good XP percent. The castle brings in revenue and has fun jobs for princess Ralph (such as building snowmen – “making friends”). I like them both…the snowglobe is more traditional Christmas, the castle is more fun. If I had to pick, would probably pick the Castle… I can put it with King Winters cave and other frozen stuff and keep it out all year. The snowglobe goes back in storage after Christmas.
Just got an update about surprises when you purchase donuts…..but lo and behold there are no donuts in the store to purchase except for the smallest box 😭😭😭

My donut packages with bonus characters/building etc popped up after I shut down the game and did hard restart. Try that
Hey everybody, my game is up and running fine. Missed the outage was out rearranging Christmas lights. Came back to catch that pesky gnome, no problem, what you don’t know doesn’t hurt I guess. Lol out to lights, addition to house (yes we kept a puppy, it’s Chewfred’s fault my story and I’m sticking to it) is sleeping, so break over.
Got into game and received an update. Now suddenly I can only buy 12 donuts at a time?? If this is permanent I’m really not liking it.
I went online. Updated password. All good then.
I was just able to log in. Seems to be okay hopefully

I had this issue earlier this morning…I logged out, killed the app, and also switched off wifi. Once done, I opened the app fresh and was able to log back in without issue.
Thought I’d share this in case it helps anyone else.

Here You Go… TRADITIONAL WASSAIL…(this makes a Party Size amount).
Combine 4 cups of sugar and 2 quarts of water, bring to a boil
Add: 1 TBS Whole Cloves, 6 sticks of cinnamon, 3 tbs candied ginger…chopped
Cover, let stand and warm for one hour. Strain Mixture.
Add 2 quarts of Orange Juice, 2 cups of lemon juice, 1 gallon of apple cider…Bring to a Boil
Add 1/2 quart Brandy and 1/2 quart of spiced rum.
Float orange slices and sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve Hot.
Too hot for our 38º C holliday in Brazil….
I prefer ice+cachaça+lemon = caipirinha
