Should I Spend Donuts On the Dunking Device?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The snow is falling in Springfield and that can only mean it’s Winter time in our pocket sized towns!  And of course it wouldn’t be an event in Springfield without premium items in our stores, just tempting us to spend sprinkles on them!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Dunking Device to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Witch Tester to your Springfield…

dunking_device

Item:  Dunking Device
Donut Price: 80 Donuts
Voucher Return: 480indicator_xmas2016_giftreceipt
Earns: 2.75% Bonus on All Cash and XP

Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100

Leaves Stores when the Event Ends

Pros
-Comes with a questline
-Homer will have a permanent task there to Prove he’s not a witch (4hrs, earns $260, 70xp)
-Hilarious Animation for Homer there (he gets dunked, freezes, and comes out.  Over and over again)

Cons
-Terrible Bonus % (usually 40 donuts gets you 2%, so 80 should get you 4%)
-Kind of a random item with this event and a bit over priced

Final Thought
Premium
Fun task for Homer, but that’s about it. So if you like it grab it, otherwise I’d pass.

Freemium
Freemium players I’d pass on this one.  It’s just not worth the cost for what you get.  I’d save your donuts for something better down the line.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you as a premium player, I’ll likely pass.  Doesn’t really do anything for me. Just remember this is limited-time, so if you’re thinking about grabbing it make sure you do before  it leaves our game on December 30th.

Here’s a look at the Questline that comes with it:

Dunking Device
Homer starts

Homer: Finally, an honest-to-goodness carnival ride. Me first!
Lisa: Dad, that’s a dunking chair… it was a way to test if someone was a witch. If you sank, you were innocent. But if you floated, then you were a witch.
Homer: The wisdom of the ancients…
Lisa: There’s nothing wise about it!
Homer: Hey, I wonder if I’m a witch…
Make Homer Prove He’s Not A Witch- 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp
Homer: Good news, everybody! I’m not a witch!
Lisa: Is that news to you?
Homer: Sure, I’ve always ASPIRED not to be a witch. But to KNOW I’m not… it’s pretty special. I mean, I’ve met Satan on a couple different Halloweens. Who knows what kind of boneheaded contract I might’ve signed? That’s the one downside when you’re a guy who loves to drink, will sign anything, and hangs out with Satan.

What are your thoughts on the Dunking Device?  Will you be picking it up or have you already?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I really like it, but I ended up buying the snow globe, which wasn’t really planned on – ultimately, I couldn’t pass up the donut rebate, vouchers, and final price, plus the bonus. Sooooo, that being said, with the approx. 200 donuts I have left, I think I am going to pass on this one. Still a bit on the fence because I do like it, but I think my donuts could be better spent elsewhere. Hoping it comes back with some kind of rebate deal in a future event. Also, my space is fairly limited in my pagan area right now.

  2. Josephine Kick@$$

I wasn’t too impressed with the cost, and Homer already has so many tasks I haven’t even used that I want to try. While it looks cool, I’m going to pass on this one 😐

  3. Just a stickler’s point to make, but the correct term is “ducking” rather than “dunking.”

And “The Simpsons’ Houseboat” (WHEN are they bringing that back? I WANT IT!!!) should really have been called “The Thompsons’ Houseboat,” while I’m at it.

  4. I’m gonna put this with the Notre Dame Church. I got it because Homer sits on it otherwise I wouldn’t bother.

  5. I really wish they somehow make these items to be added to lakes instead of being individual puddles

  6. Anyone know where to get the holiday tree for Maggie’s task be a star on the tree ?

  7. Next Halloween, I’m going to build a carnival area with all the pagan stuff…this will work well as a “ride”, lol😁

  8. I bought it day it came out.

  9. I was so close to pulling the trigger on this one but I’m not going to do it. I have many funny things to keep Homer busy, I can’t justify the donuts. Can’t EA dunk someone else! Lol. Thanks for the advice and thanks for all of your hard work. As I awoke to put’em back to work and got this SISD post, I thought, “Does Alissa ever sleep?” Amazing, truly amazing.

  10. The animation is worth 2x the doughnuts
