Winter Is Nearing the End…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just a reminder that the Winter Event Ends TOMORROW December 30th at 0800 GMT (3am EST)

This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.

pagan-homer-winter-2016

As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Lol. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.

Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…

  • Questlines linked directly to the progression of the Event will go. Like the Main Questlines that pulled you through all 2 Acts.
  • However, the questlines linked directly the the prizes you’ve won will remain. (so Ravencrow, Snowsuit Maggie etc)
  • The event removal will require an app store update to fully remove it from your game.  So don’t panic when 0800 GMT hits and the event isn’t out of your game…  It will require an app store update to remove everything.  Usually those hit around 1-2pm (EDT)

I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of collection as far as you can. If you turn OFF the auto update feature in your App Market, you may give yourself an extra day or so just know that ANY time after the 30th is borrowed time and you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. EA can force the update at anytime after the 30th and make you update. So use any extra time wisely and get what you need before you have to remove the Event completely.

So tap those last few Pagans and relax and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.

Are you sad to see the event go?  Or ready for it to finally be over?  How did you do with the prizes?  Get everything you wanted?  What are you hoping to see next?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. How do I clear the Princess Nerd quest from my taskbar? The ice palace no longer is available….

  2. I don’t know how many others feel the same way but then again this is just my opinion.. I just felt like this year’s winter event was just kind of…meh. I mean I’m not complaining; I acquired all the prizes and stuff but it felt…somewhat boring. I felt like playing along just for the sake of it…Maybe something was lacking, I don’t know, but it was alright I guess..

  3. Any SIBs for the remaining winter items like Giant Snow Globe or Ice Princess Castle?

  4. I have a general question to the henge: was there ever a quest for it which triggered the animation where the stones and the center pentagram are glowing? Either I overlooked it or was it cut out by EA after the outrage?
For I only saw it during the active animation glitch…

  5. I was happy to see a pagan event in the place of Christmas, since Christmas is just one big commercial, and it really freaks out the busy bodies. This event was boring though. Apparently all based on a brand new episode? So none of the references stuck. The only thing worth working for was the Maggie costume, and they made you grind the masa for that one. I really disliked that dumb elf thing, and the pagans were so boring. Just shambling through town. Just little black dots with no personality.
Did EA already give away all the cool Simpsons stuff? I know I’m tapped for references. I need time to organize my town anyway. DI’m probably going to dump most of the pagan stuff into storage.

  6. Well, literally ten minutes before the timer ended, I used about a dozen donuts to get the last prize in my secondary town since the grace period after timers end has been shorter this year. Glad I did, too, looks like there was zero grace period.

  7. I am surprised how many people come on here to complain! The Simpsons do and can lampoon whatever they want, and (my and) your Christmas is fair game! And how dare they stop the event right at the timer?! And make you play somewhat consistantly to earn the top prize?! The nerve … I mean- I’m all for constructive criticism (like the excessive play needed a couple events ago to complete) but let’s keep some perspective. They needed a new angle after 4 or 5 prior Christmas events. The give out donuts now like nobody’s business and need to maintain a revenue stream. Let’s just cut some slack here folks!
I do have one question- did they change the timer for the mystery gifts or did I see the timer and just assume it matched the timer for the rest of the event? I bought a gold present last night assuming it would go away and I should have held out to earn enough vouchers for platinum. Anyone know?

    • Nope – the time remaining was always different for the mystery gifts than for the Act 2 stuff. The only question folks were wondering about earlier was whether that was a mistake or if they really did mean that they’d continue the mystery gifts (and gnome) after the rest of the event ended. Turns out, they meant it! 🙂

(Oh, and I agree with you about the complaining thing…I do think that EA has done some things that were complaint-worthy, but not nearly as many things as some people think it’s “fair” to complain about.)

  8. First thanks to the moderators of this site for going through all the comments. Act two ended in my game just when the in game clock said it would. I had chosen not participate in the act two prize track. I do not always want everything they push out. Feel it is personal choice.
Am happy with the prizes I got from the mystery boxes, which I probably would have spent doughnuts on if offered differently.
Anyway to each their own, hope all have Happy New Year.

  9. So what are we supposed to do about the Ice Princess Martin quest (Princess Nerd) that forces us to spend doughnuts to buy the Ice Palace to complete it? A lot of people don’t have enough doughnuts or don’t want to blow them just to complete a questline (that we don’t know where it’s going). I asked about this a week ago or so & have seen several other people asking the same thing.

If we don’t buy the Ice Palace, are we stuck with the task in our task bar forever? I hate having unfinished tasks in there.

  10. I’m usually ahead of the game. I needed Maggie and the final craft. I scooped up Maggie this morning on a whim and thank goodness. The final craft is gone and I only needed a couple more. I wasn’t expecting a smooth cutoff. Not even an option to buy with donuts. Geez

  11. Nickolaus Deshaies

So I got everything in and everything in it that you could for doing daily tasks. But when I finished yesterday’s daily tasks it showed today’s is being a little gold thing but it told me I had already won everything even though I had a little lock on it. Just wondering what was behind that lock

  12. I was 50/50 with this event overall. The good things I liked about it was the snow and that I was ahead of the calendar and I got The Parson and Star Snowsuit Maggie early which meant that I had 5 bonut rounds in act 2 and about 3 or 4 rounds in act 1, the gnome is fun to catch with upgraded the box to lvl 14 and working on getting to 15 with the extra days left and I hope the gnome is permanent and offers SH currency, Rail Yard currency or donuts, crafting was ok because I got the Monk stall a few days ago but not much leftover rune stones to spend on items that could have a bonus % in the future (maybe the fir is murder tree or monk stall could have a bonus), I got the racoon from the mystery box and will buy candy kevin to complete the collection, I like the look of icebergs because the bear and otters looks cute together. The bad things about this event is that after I got the racoon from the mystery box there was no prizes to get from the boxes and would of preferred it if there was at least 1 new prize in each box instead, crafting would of been better if I had the monk stall earlier and got about 2000 – 3000 rune stones left over for crafting items such as the mushrooms for possible designs (would of been better if the mushrooms to cost cash instead), when visiting friends towns it would of been better if you got event currency from more friends. So not a bad event overall but with some improvements it would of been better and happy new year everyone.

  13. Hey EA…you’re losing regulars and leaving a lot of us hangers on too uninspired to recommend the game to newcomers!😕 I spent waaaay more screen time trying to get Maggie and the Dunker only to get “this close” (pinches fingers together) before you ripped them from the game! 😑 What happened to incentives to visit other Springfields? The 24hour Gnome limit was stupid and the tapping disincentives frustrating! Just rip the bandaid off already and kill this game instead of letting it die a slow death by mediocrity! /rant

    • I’m not sure I understand the part of your rant about visiting friends….there *was* an incentive – you earned event currency (brooches, in Act 2, for example) for tapping pagans in your friendvilles (at least the first 17 of them or so…).

  14. It would seem we’re still able to collect vouchers by catching the gnome for another 4 days.

I sent Grampa to enjoy his beer for New Year, was I supposed to get a prize? Checked inventory- nothing

  15. I was hoping to get more rune stones this morning, i was only 20 short from the monk thing, but it is only possible to catch the gnome now. I am not too sad, because that decoration was only thing I didnt get. I was having bonuts for the last three days so it seemed strange not to get all the items. Happy holidays!

  16. I’m glad it’s over, not because I hated it, it just wasn’t very Christmassy and I like that they made it a shorter event too. I hope they do a week long thing for New Years, maybe some new decorations for it, some quest lines… hint hint wink wink

  17. Well, I officially uninstalled TSTO after weeks of being unhappy. I used to be able to play somewhat regularly and get everything in a questline. This is the 3rd event where I couldn’t complete the crafting in time. Still had 2 items left. And everything rolled at right at 2am my time. Fare thee well, TSTO…enjoy my hundreds of dollars spent over the course of the game. It’s just not worth it anymore.

Thanks for all your work and help, TSTO people!!

    • How?? I crafted everything, and still had 2000 craftables leftover. I ended up cranking out multiples of every item just to use it up. The crafting for the past few events has been the best it ever has. I’m truly confused as to how you’re playing. I would login roughly every 4 hours, with 8 hours for sleep. Some days I’d miss times because I was busy but I still finished everything with 4.5 days to spare. I didn’t even bother visiting friends regularly as I had more than enough of everything

      • Well, I’m sorry I’m not as good a player as you but I visited 2-3 times a day and that always used to be enough and now it’s not. Time to cut my losses as I don’t have more time or finances to devote to this endeavor.

  18. So they actually stopped the prize track and crafting right on time this event, meaning I didn’t get Maggie or the dunk a monk because I was spending time with my friends and family instead of checking in on the game every four hours.

Eh, this game seems to have gotten less rewarding of late. I’ll probably check here periodically to see if they’re doing something cool, but, otherwise I think I’m done with this game for a while.

  19. Event ended for me just now with a hard cut-off and in-game removal of most winter menu options, starting a New Year questline. No more winter bonut-rounds. Glad i had set my alarm before the end time, so i got to finish a last bonut round and used up most of my crafting materials.

Gnome is still earning vouchers though for a few more days. Used 12 donuts to secure a price box and got Costington’s – very happy about that. And now with the gnome still earning vouchers, i might be able to get another box. Though i will be out of the country over New Years, so not sure if i can earn enough vouchers.

All in all, liked the event, theme was okay, most decorations will go to storage. But thankful for all the bonuts, Maggie’s great iconic costume, loved the creapy stuff the gnome says and mystery boxes treated me good as well. And the duration was perfect!

  20. ThatOneWeirdTapper

Just to let you know, just logged onto my game 20 minutes after event ended (8.20) and the only thing remaining is the gnome in home thing with the mystery present gift thing, phew! 3 days left of this to hopefully get a good prize 🙂 And also, just before I posted this, grandpa was up with happy new beer 😀

  21. Omg! I was in game just about to get star suit Maggie when the game forced a ‘transition’ and all the acts etc disappeared! Not even option to buy with donuts! So annoyed . They never usually do this! Gutted really wanted Maggie the only thing in the entire event I wanted. Another EA fail.
