Addicts Open Thread

Today’s our very own Patric’s Birthday…be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday, here.

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

Happy 2017!  How was your New Year’s Eve?  Do anything fun and exciting?

No new episodes of The Simpsons this week, but we are expecting a new mini event this week.  So be sure to brush up on Homer the Heretic…

The Winter Event is over.  Much as been discussed, many opinions have been made…what were your thoughts?

What do you think 2017 will hold for TSTO?  What would you like to see in the game this year?

Christmas was last week, how was your Christmas?  Get everything you wanted under the tree?  Hanukkah is over, how was your celebration?  Any other holidays you celebrated?

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of!  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. Exhale the Past without any Regret,
Inhale the Future without much Expectation,
    Hold the Present with Pleasure.
    And then Enjoy 2017!
    Happy New Year
    🍀🍀🍀

    • Nice…

    • Hi Mike, long time no talk😉 Happy New Year to you and yours! Hope all is great on your side of the world. 🎈🎈🎈🎊🎉🎈🎈🎈

      • Happy New Year to you and Chewfred too!
All well down on the southern tip of Africa – so far 2017 has been good because I am still on leave!
        😄😄😄

        • Enjoy your leave while it lasts😄 Glad to hear the year is starting good for you. Any wild animals around? I admit I miss the alligators in back yard.🐊 Cheers!

          • I’ve only had donkeys, cows and goats wandering around… 😃
I did visit the Wrinklies down at the coast the other day and drove home past a number of game reserves and just from the road saw some ostriches, monkeys, impala and giraffe. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any rhino or elephant although I know they are around…
            😄😄😄

  2. so, i managed to collect 250 donuts (freemium player) and I’m thinking on buying motherhorn, it’s gonna cost me 150 and I should have enough vouchers for platinum box. Should I go for that or just buy bowl’orama or something like that?

    • Unless you really like the murderhorn and want it. I would let it go. I don’t know what platinum prizes you have available, but in my opnion none are worth spending donuts for a chance at. I’m in the same boat as you. I have a little over 200 donuts. I bought very little this event and plan to use my donuts for duff brewery. I would say you should go for bowlorama or something like that.

    • I’d skip the Murderhorn (nothing social about that) and hold off a couple of days on the Bowl-a-Rama to see what the new items are that are coming out with the mini event that’s scheduled to start tomorrow, since any items associated with that are likely to be limited-time ones.

    • Murderhorn is ok, but it is HUGE and does nothing…I have it, and I should have passed. (It is also very purple, so it doesn’t really blend in well with the other mountains.)If you want an attention getter, this is it… it’s kind of like the volcano lair, but without any cool animations.

  3. which of these are the best combos of character + building to go for with bonuts?

    1. springfield YMCA
    2. cracker factory
    3. springfield coliseum
    4. lugash’s gym
    5. lotto & liquor
    6. beer & brawl

or name others but i may already have them

    • Of these? Definitely the Cracker Factory.

    • Lotto for its practicality as it helps the railyard. For animation wise I like YMCA. The character is Negan like.

    • Of those, cracker factory, hands down.

    • I love the cracker factory. The railyard is really easy at this point even if you only play once or twice a day, so I don’t think that’s a huge factor. I like the Beer & Brawl too, but definitely not as much as the cracker factory.

    • I agree with the others: The Cracker Factory is the way to go among your choices. It opens up the Fleet-a-Pita quest line and gives Kirk an eight-hour premium task. Plus, Luann has very funny visual tasks.

    • Yeah the cracker factory is pretty great, but I really love the Springfield Coliseum and Dredrick tatum. Got some great outdoor tasks, and even more if you’re able to get his boxer skin.

  4. Looks like I’ll be about 150 vouchers short of a platinum mystery box, come the end tomorrow. Do I spend the donuts to buy my way up, spend some donuts on something that comes with vouchers or stick with the gold box? There’s nothing left in the boxes that catches my eye, but might as well maximize the opportunity. Choices, choices, choices.

  5. Great New Year’s banner, Alissa…I noticed it earlier today, but forgot to mention it…all it needs is sound effects…BOOOOMMMM!!

  6. Unbelievable luck, I’m 4 for 4 on those mystery boxes, got EXACTLY what I wanted: Christmas Raccoon (1 chance in 7), Sophie (1 in 4,) Costington’s (1 in 3,) and finally Plow King’s Plow (1 in 6.)

Now to go pick some stocks!

    • Tracy - 1ltwoody920

      Time for some post-Christmas stock-ing?

    • Okay, now I’m just scared: Forked over some donuts to take a gamble on a Gold Box (7 items possible) hoping beyond hope for Plow King. What pops out?

      Plow.

      Freaking.

      King.

Just what the heck is going ON here?!??

  7. Family are visiting from Scotland so I’m gonna be honest I’ve been nursing a hangover today….Scottish style. 😄🍺😢 But a Star Trek marathon on BBC and a few Simpsons episodes on Fxx have been helping out. Happy New Year guys!

  8. Happy New Years my fellow tappers
    🎉🎊🎇🎆🎇🎊
Another year of fun is hopefully in store for you all.

I celebrated Kwanzaa , that’s in regards to the other holiday mentioned. It was a wonderful celebration a week long event of different principles. Lots of inspirational moments and bonding.

This year is sure to yield many wonderful new journeys and adventures. I’m so excited for it all.

And to all my fellow tapper friends thank you all for being my neighbor friends. Event quests couldn’t have been completed easier without you guys. Having only 3 friends starting out to now the max has yielded great return. Thanks and much love you guys.

  9. Homer to Santas Little Helper: I want you to sit there, look through the window and watch me eat a ham! Marge, prepare the emergency ham!
No emergency, but I’m cooking a ham today. Made a glaze for the first time ever (maple whiskey and pineapple) pretty good stuff!

We apologise for the break in transmission – a result of technical difficulties beyond our control. Normal service will be resumed next week…

But in the meantime, Happy New Year everyone!
    😃😃😃

  11. Happy New Year to everyone. Happy Birthday Patric! Today is also my birthday as well.

  12. Happy New Year! And Happy Birthday Patrick!

Watching movie is a hobby of mine and below is my list of movies out in 2016 which I have watched and enjoyed the most. They may not be critically acclaimed and some of them may have polarised views.

    1. Captain America: Civil War
    2. X-Men: Apocalypse
    3. Deadpool
    4. The Jungle Book
    5. Zootopia
    6. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
    7. The Witch
    8. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
    9. The Nice Guys
    10. 10 Cloverfield Lane

So what were your favorite 2016 movies?

    • None: I lost interest in new movies long ago.

    • I really liked Zootopia, I didn’t see any of the others.

    • That’s a nice list! We have similar tastes. I did not see The Nice Guys, so I would probably put Arrival in that slot. It was quite moving. I recommend it, especially if you like science-fiction movies.

      • As I am planning to watch Arrival. It is on my to watch list. I just watched a Korean Drama The Handmaiden. It is pretty good too.

        • A friend of mine recommended The Handmaiden, too. It’s on my list to see. But there are so many good art films to watch right now!

  13. Looking forward to seeing my brother, sister-in-law, and, especially, my little nephew, who are visiting from California, and my dad and stepmom visiting from NYC. Haven’t seen my nephew in person for a year, which is more than half his lifetime…I hear he even talks now! Apparently, his newest word is “yellow,” which he applies equally to all colors, lol!

    • Sounds like a future Simpsons follower…I wonder Sandra…where did he pick up the word “yellow” ….hmmmm? Next word going to be “doh!”???

      • I was thinking kind of the same thing, lol! But I don’t think he has a TV in his home, so I don’t know whether he’s ever seen The Simpsons. I should be able to find out more tomorrow, though, when I see them.

  14. Happy Birthday, Patric!

Happy 2017, Tappers! Had a fun night with friends, ate some good food, drank loads of champagne and played some table top games. Today we started the new year off with a breakfast of champions and we’re going to see Rogue One later!

  15. Well my Huskies lost to Alabama. I’m sad that the Huskies lost, but I’m proud of them for having a great season. It’s been fun watching them play.

  16. Just passing through , see anything you like , just speak up .

See ya bye . Wish you were here . 👽

  17. Happy Birthday Patric! 🎈🎂🎁 Happy New Year TSTO Community! And many thanks to Alissa, Patric, Wookie & Bunnie for your dedication & hard work with this site & all of your help to all of us! 🎉❤️🎈

  18. Happy new year all!

Neighbors, please bare with me and my town. Just about done with a massive redesign. Only taken me about a week. And PS, next time I get a thought to do this again, someone please talk me out of it

  19. I went to the doctor’s office with hearing problems.
He said “Can you describe the symptoms?”
I said “Homer is bald and fat and Marge has blue hair”

  20. BTW, we might want a revised SIB for the Wiccans: Now that their payout has been fixed, they’re a much better buy from an earning standpoint (plus their quest dialogue is hilarious; suspiciously similar to some of my own experiences in my early college years…)

  21. Hello is anyone here from New Zealand on here??

  22. I bought about £20 worth of donuts. Got Jebediah Springfield and Shelbyville Manhattan. I then went for Krustylu Studios with Sideshow Mel and Crazy Cat Lady. Good haul!

I am only a few donuts short of my next wish: Jasper.

    • Are they voiced?

      ARE THEY VOICED?!???

    • ThatOneWeirdTapper

Do you have Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers w/ Lucille Botzcowski? This would be a great buy to add to your great haul. Crazy Cat Lady is a great edition, everyone must have a cat now and again! 😛 If you don’t want Lucille, or already have her, I suggest holding off Jasper anyway and see what the next event brings, he will still be there afterwards. I’m sure whatever you choose will be a great choice! 🙂

      • No I don’t have her. I decided on Jasper as he makes me laugh. Plus he helps with heights. I still need to reach 1 billion there.

        • I love ❤️ Jasper…if you ever get the chance to buy it, he has a skin as a 1940’s(?) lady (I kid you not) baseball player, complete with dress, hat/wig and glove (still with the beard)…it is a hoot!

          • It’s a take-off on the women’s baseball league that was founded during WWII when the men were off fighting, as made famous in the wonderful Penny Marshall movie, “A League of Their Own.”

          • A league of their Own? The one with Madonna? She was my idol

  23. Happy New Year to everyone at TSTO – and many huge thanks for all of your work to Alissa, Wookie, Bunny and happy Birthday to Patric! I spent NYE nursing Hubs from his fever, my 4yr old deciding to have the stomach flu (all night long – I’m ready for a nap), and at least myself and my 6yr old are okay. Cold in Saskatoon today, but looking towards a better 2017 for several reasons (starting to work on improving several life challenges/issues). From north of the 49th parallel, Happy 2017!

  24. Happy new year fellow tappers!! Spent the night entertaining a crowded bar with my band which is always fun. After a few hours sleep back to some faithful tapping while we wait for the next event to start.

  25. So I signed up with Bitmoji where you can make an avatar that then is used for many expressions and moods, I kinda wonder if it can be seen on here. … guess not

    • I was trying to send one here last night with no success. You could always save it as a picture and share it that way.

  26. Merry birthday, Patric 🍺

And Merry New Year to everyone in tstoland. May your tapping fingers remain healthy 🙂

  27. Is it just me, or is the wheel on the lumber mill going the wrong way? The water doesn’t appear to be coming out with enough force to push it that way, so the weight of the water should be dragging it down the other direction.

    • If Jon Stewart (The Daily Show) could have the Earth turning in the wrong direction (during the beginning of show graphics) for 10 years, a water wheel going against the laws of physics seems not so bad.

  28. Happy New Year everyone.
Hope you all had a great evening and your head hurts less than mine. (I may have been slightly refreshed last night )
Hope you all have a wonderful 2017. 🙂

  29. Happy new year tappers wish for good health and happiness to everyone enjoy the game
