Where Did THAT Come From – Penny Fountain

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

Woo hoo! We proclaim the end of the Pagan Festival and now find ourself in an entirely new mini-event all about Homer celebrating all religions in an attempt to rest every day. Pretty cool in my humble opinion. This batch of new stuff brings lots of stuff and that’s where I come in. I know everyone doesn’t have the same knowledge of the Best. Show. Ever. so it’s time to dive into the TV series and find this new item. This post takes a look at the Penny Fountain.

“He Loves to Fly and He D’ohs” (S19:E1)

To find the new fountain which earns us karma (aka lucky pennies) is as simple as heading to the beginning of this episode. After an opening segment that shows us Springfield still destructed after the events of The Simpsons Movie, we find Burns and Smithers shopping in the Springfield Mall.

Dang I’d love that building in the game. I also wonder if Burns ever bought the Brooklyn Dodgers since it was on his shopping list. Burns comes across the fountain and sees a penny in the water. Sure he has billions but Burns is a selfish miser to rival Ebenezer Scrooge McDuck so of course he wants to make sure only he has this copper Lincoln.

I think of pennies is fountains as wishes. Of course Burns would be the guy who steals them. There should be consequences for trying this. And there is. While trying to pinch said penny, and keep it from nincompoops like Ralph, Burns falls into the fountain with hilarious results and nearly drowns. Could it be his karma biting him in the tuckus?

Homer saves his boss’ life (“Hey… you’re not a penny.” Lol) which propels the rest of the episode further. Dinner with Burns, Homer’s love of private jets, and more. That’s really about it. We got a new fountain for the game to go with the Homer the Heretic mini-event although I’d have rather gotten a new plane for the game.

Anyhoo… what do you think of the fountain and event? Understand the whole karma thing better now? I think it’s a neat addition even if it’s just another fountain for the town. Sound off in the comments and here’s to what has been a fun apology for the holidays. I’ll be back with more origins in the future.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. Digging into the past reveals something interesting. My favorite Mr. Burns animation is when he falls into Penny Fountain and not remembering the origin of this I searched it and was struck by Wookiees choice of words, “I think of pennies is fountains as wishes. Of course Burns would be the guy who steals them. There should be consequences for trying this. And there is. While trying to pinch said penny, and keep it from nincompoops like Ralph….” There it is folks, Wishes and Poop in the same paragraph. Coincidence? I think not!!!

  2. I love how burns has a 60min task there “fall in fountain”. It’s funny to watch… I’m debating where I should place the fountain after my town demo… right now it’s just in a dead lot space with a bunch of other crap.

  3. I forgot about this episode (thank you very much Wooster!) – overall funny episode 😂.
I would love ‘E.Ts Phone Home’ in the game because I always give a snigger whenever I see a picture of itm
