Should I Spend Donuts On Brother Faith and the Brother Faith Van?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s Sunday Morning in Springfield! Gather up those religions because Homer wants to sample them all! Like a religious smorgasbord…as long as Homer can still have the bacon!  Of course it wouldn’t be an event in Springfield without premium items in our stores, just tempting us to spend sprinkles on them!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Brother Faith and his van to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this faith healer to your Springfield…

Final Thought
Premium:
Pick him up. Reasonably priced with a nice bonus % on the van.  His tasks are hilarious and he’ll help with the event.  The only downside is he isn’t voiced.  But I think he’s a great buy and premium players should pick him up ASAP.

Freemium:
This is a great buy, almost as good as a 100 donut combo.  The only downside for freemium players (aside from the not voiced thing) is that Brother Faith is not Rabbi K.  I know many of you are saving your donuts for Rabbi K.  (and he should cost around 150 donuts when released) So if you have the extra donuts pick up Brother Faith.  If not wait until Rabbi K hits our games and then make your decision.  But I do think this is a great pickup…

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you as a premium player, I picked him up almost immediately. Just remember this is limited time , and will be leaving our stores once the event ends. So be sure to make your final decision before he’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)  Also, this is one of those items that’ll help with the event, so if you’re thinking about picking it up it’s better to do it sooner rather than later, so you can maximize the benefit.

Here’s a look at his tasks.

  1. I think his 24 hour job , ride on a cloud is like goku from the dragonball series.

  2. I don’t know if anyone else is experiencing a glitch with Brother Faith? And with a few other tasks…. anyway, my task bar always says that he’s not available to do a task but he is. And when I complete the task, the game doesn’t acknowledge it and reward me. Help! Anyone else experiencing this?

  3. Decisions, decisions… I have enough counts to get both Father Sean *and* Brother Faith (if I do them in the right order), but not Rabbi K. 🙁

  4. I’ve bought him when I bought the Jebidiah Springfield donut purchase, so in a way I’ve 2 characters for the price of one, with still some donuts left over to buy something else.
Another question I’ve wanted to ask for some time is about what to do with excess cash. I’m level 152 and have over 20,000,000 in cash and nothing to spend it on, apart from more decorations. It would be nice to have more big cash purchases like the big diamond and the chocolate building. Please EA read this and give us something to spend our hard earned cash on. I’ve bought all the land extensions

    • Buy stuff for the XP to level up and get donuts. I regularly build 45 Kwik-E-Marts at once, sell them back, and rebuild. Bloodmobiles are a decent option if you don’t want to devote the time and space to KEMs, but the return is slightly less.

    • Use a few donuts to pay for a day of collider use, then buy and sell rat trap trucks to keep leveling up and earning donuts. Just be sure to leave yourself money for buying land and extra bonut box tries!

      • As I understand it, if your money dips down below $150,000, extra bonut box tries are free.

        • Really? I didn’t know that… I’ll have to take your word for it because I don’t think I’ve ever been in that position myself.

        • Not true. Was in that situation once in my B-game, and I had the choice to buy money with donuts for the next try, or leave it.

          • Josephine Kick@$$

Aabend… just out of curiosity, which did you choose, & were you happy with the outcome?

            • Doesn’t really make sense to spend donuts to get donuts in my mind… Just left it at the one donut I got on the first try. And yes, I definitely made the right choice, so I guess I was happy with it.

    • I keep a stash level of $8,000,000…anything earned over that each night goes to buy rat trap trucks for the XP boost (which generates bonuts when you level up – or reach 1,000,000 XP for those at level 939). If you have the XP collider on, each million you spend on the trucks will net an average of 3 to 5 tries for bonuts (depending on your level of XP bonus percent). I always keep choosing until I get the “yippee, 3 donuts”. I generally buy 5 trucks and (since my XP bonus is around 1000%) I get 5 tries for donuts. I sell them back…buy another 5, and so on until my money is back down to 8 million. If your XP percent is closer to 500%, you should net around 9 donuts per million (obviously, you will net more bonuts per million as your XP bonus percent rises).

If you choose to turn the collider on only one day a week, just save your cash till that day…but leaving it on every day will increase your daily XP gains and give you extra “level up” bonuts on a daily basis.
You will have to decide if the 2.5 donuts/day cost to run the collider every day nets more than 2.5 bonuts each day(one level up)…it will depend on your current XP bonus percent.

This isn’t the highest grossing way to “farm”…it isn’t even really farming in the truest sense…but it only takes enough room to place 5 trucks at a time and usually takes no more than 5 minutes a day. With this system, if you make an extra million a day, you can buy and sell your way into 9 to15 extra donuts a day, depending on your XP bonus percent. As you progress in the game, you will make more money each day and your XP percent will rise…increasing the number of bonuts you will clear each day.

  5. I picked him up within a day or so of his release, but I haven’t gotten to see his tasks yet, because I have him working on collecting karma full time. But I look forward to going through his questline after I’m done with the mini-event prize track! 🙂

Oh, one tip for those who haven’t gotten him yet but decide to…be sure to not to buy him at the end of the day, because the first part of his questline contains a 4-hour task for almost every character. I made that mistake myself and had to manually go through my about 160 characters to send them all on their 12-hour overnight tasks, because the unemployment office could only send about 7 of them. D’oh! (Fortunately, once you’ve sent them in that 4-hour task, even if you don’t send the preacher on his part of that same step in the questline, the unemployment office will go back to working.)

    • Ha ha. I did that too. I bought him just after midnight right when he was available. I had to manually send everyone on their 8 hour task. I made sure to send 5 non-premiums on the 4 hour task just to clear it.

  6. On his cloud task does he stay in one spot or roam around like Arnie and the helicopter?

  7. Wasn’t sure, but pulled the trigger early and haven’t regretted it. Great character!

  8. Happy New Year! There is a new character I would like to purchase; however, it require Paris Texan, which I do not have and must have missed because I never heard of this character. Do you think we will be given the opportunity to purchase the Paris Texan in order to get the newest character?

  9. Hi Alissa, thanks for post, I was going to pass, but after reading your post will go back in game and purchase him now. You know I (almost) always follow your advice lol.
Hope all is well with you and family!

  10. Just passing by to say belate Merry Christmas, Happy and prosperous New year and thank you very much for the help during 2016.

  11. I almost got it day one after seeing the bonus, but held out because I wasn’t sure if he was an actual character, or just one of those lame decoration characters like the boardwalk entertainers. Thought it was too good a deal to be true so I waited till you did a SIB post on him. Glad to see he’s an actual character though 😊 I’ll be picking him up today

  12. I have a winter question – when the snow melts in a future update, will I still earn a bonus % on ice/snow items or does that go away? They look silly melted, but if they still earn a bonus % I’ll keep them out year-round. Thanks!

  13. Hello everybody,
maybe I am not alone with that issue. My 2-3 elf homes disappeared. I can not find them anymore. I first realized it yesterday when I build up a new monorail line (north pol) with a christmas area… is it a known glitch? Who else has that problem?
    Cherrio 😉

    • I got them 4 free in the christmas events before 2016…

    • I still have mine in my game.

    • Maybe they are behind the station (or something else) and not visible? You can make the buildings transparent to check for them. They may also be in the inventory, if you stored them without realizing it (I’ve done that when playing with the Monorail…so much being moved around).

  14. Ian his riding in a cloud task one of the annoying ones that Hoover on your screen no matter were you scroll or just floats around Springfield like a normal walking task ?

  15. I have an unrelated question: Is anyone missing the “suck suck” sound when trying to find Maggie?? It’s hit or miss (usually miss). I have always had no problems finding her until the Halloween update.

Also, I acquired the Princess Martin skin a long time ago and when the Christmas update hit and the skin was sold with the Ice Palace, it popped up as a task for Princess Martin and Lisa at the Ice Palace. I didn’t want the ice palace, but now the task is still there. Will that ever go away?? Thanks for all the imput!! Y’all are great!! 🙂

    • Likely it’ll require the Snow/winter removal from the app store to truly go away.

    • I’ve also noticed that sometimes Maggie’s sounds are delayed or even missing. No workaround, though, other than to slow down my scrolling. I guess we just need to be extra careful when looking. Fortunately, she seems to have a preference for houses, so a search through the neighbourhood near the factory often works for me.

    • Here’s a little hack for Maggie. If you get to close to the end of your time and haven’t found her yet, quickly go to your recent apps screen (or home screen, whichever is fastest to get to first). Then in the recent apps screen, close out the game, then reopen it. The timer will restart to a few minutes, but it’s better then waiting 16hrs if you haven’t found her 😉 I use this all the time until I find her

    • Thanks everyone!!

  16. Thank you for including the GIF.. loving it! Hopefully that is not too much added work for you going forward. 😬
I had not seen that animation yet because he went straight to work earning Karma for me. I’ll do his quest line in a couple days, once I’m done with the mini event.

    • I’ll do them when I have the time and can, but it’s not something I can commit to doing 100% of the time. I know I can’t do building animations…the files are more broken up than the character ones.

      • Really the only ones I would like to see are decorations that do something when tapped. Buildings, I’m fine without. And characters, maybe only if it’s a really good animation.
But who am I to make rules in someone else’s house!? I’d be happy with any that you decide to do.
        Thanks again.
        Best. Host. Ever.

  17. Ride the cloud was a pleasant surprise.

  18. Josephine Kick@$$

Another instant buy for me😊 I can’t wait until the event is over to start checking out his different tasks😃

    • You could always check out his visual task real quick next time he’s free just to see it, then store the van and put him back on his regularly scheduled karma earning task. 😉

  19. Stuck on part 3 of his questline. “Preach with song and dance” looks like it’s normally his 8hrs task, but it is highlighted as his 4hrs event task for currency. Any thoughts?

    • I had that issue too because it was his earning task for the part of the prize track I was on. Once I moved on to the next section of the prize track it became an 8 hour task for him again that I could complete and he had a different 4 hour event currency task.

  20. Do any of his tasks require other characters?

  21. He was an insta-buy for me. I’ve been trying to be a little more frugal with donuts, but now that I hit level 939, I can always do a little KEM farming to refill when needed.

But I wish he wasn’t part of earning pennies, because I want to set him loose on his cloud in my town! 🙂

  22. The %bonus tipped it for me. Picked him up on day 1.
