Updated to include LA Body Works..totally forgot about it last night…sorry!
Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
As I mentioned earlier this evening the Winter Removal Update is live in your App Store. This update will not only remove the snow from Springfield…but it also adds a new Gil deal with items from The Great Phatsby episode AND some changes/additions to Springfield Heights (including new land!).
Thanks so much for your patience…as I had to get home and get the Tiny Addict settled and in bed…so now let’s get to the new additions…
First up, let’s talk about the Winter removal…
Unfortunately, it looks like this update has NOT fixed the Princess Martin/Ice Castle issue. I’m very much hoping EA continues to try and correct this task issue. As it is super annoying to have a task in your task list that you cannot complete.
Another change that was made with this update…the Gnome Box. Tap on the box the Gnome disappears…
Find the Gnome and tap on him and he’ll go back in the box.
Now onto the new stuff. Starting with the Springfield Heights additions/changes..
When you first first sign into TSTO you’ll start up some dialogue from Homer, of course:
Homer: *groan* It’s taking forever to save up my Lattes. I’d prefer to receive things the same way I collect my paycheck; asleep in my chair.
Lisa: Maybe if we could work longer for larger rewards it might be better?
Homer: Pfft, which idiots are you going to convince to work longer?
So a few changes have taken place in Springfield Heights.
New Land in Springfield Heights! 2 Strips added to the far side of SH.
More tasks at SH buildings….and a highly requested change. Several characters per building now have 8hr tasks there that earn even more SH currency. Should be a lot easier to max out your buildings now…
Furniture Shop:
Manjula-8hr task, earns 120 
The following two characters have slots you can unlock for more storage…
Each slot requires 30

Fat Tony- Increases Storage by 50, 8hr task earns 60
Princess Penelope- Increases Storage by 50, 8hr task earns 60

The Gil Deal…
As usual, after seeing the initial dialogue from Homer about Springfield Heights, you’ll see Gil roaming around Springfield…throwing his arms up like he’s a Ref at the Superbowl…
Gil: Hey there, pal, isn’t it time you stopped living like a pathetic nobody? Isn’t it time you showed everyone who’s the real playa in this game? Isn’t it time for old Gil to stop living on a park bench? This mansion was custom built for legendary hip-hop producer Jay G. He’s selling it due to a divorce caused by the events described in his wife’s hit single, “Y’all Done Had a Sleazy Sex Party While I Was in the Hospital Having Your Baby.” Whaddaya, say, Sport? Are you ready to step up to the bigs? Are you ready to step up to the bigs? Are you ready to take it to the hoop? Are you ready to pay Gil a 1% commission? I’m ready to take a whole lot less, if that’ll seal the deal!

Gil: Ahh, geez. Looks like I’ll be sleeping with Cookie Kwan again tonight. You know, on the bench with her ad on it.

Gil: Ha-cha-cha! Old Gil is back on the dance floor and shaking a leg with sweet Lady Luck!
Jay G: I’ve decided not to sell. Praline and I reconciled after we spent a romantic weekend together looking at lawyers’ bills.
Gil: But I already booked on sale! I used my commission to buy a cemetery plot in Scottsdale — golf-course view. Old Gil could finally afford to die!
Jay G: I’m afraid you’ve got to keep living, you said old white man. I brought the real estate company and voided the sale — that means you’re behind your monthly sales quota!
Gil: That’s okay. I’ll just start working the phones — the first step is finding a payhone that takes I.O.U.’s.
This bundle runs 225 donuts and comes with the following:
Jay G’s Mansion- 12×18 in size. Earns $300, 30xp
Jay G’s Pool- 12×18 in size. Earns a 2.25% bonus on all cash and XP.
Jay G- Full character with tasks. Not voiced. Comes with a questline
Goosius- NPC, no tasks. Has sound when tapped.
225 Donuts, but it comes with a load of stuff! And yes, I’ll have a should I buy post on this combo up…

how can I unlock 8hour jobs?
With the added 8-hour tasks, I’m tempted to spend donuts on something to unlock one (or more). Duff Brewery would probably make the most sense, since yoga mats are so hard to keep up with when you’re grinding pills and ads. But it’s pricey. I could also get Krustylu Studios for cheaper to help with awards. (Lesser possibilities I don’t have that would unlock 8-hour tasks: Springfield Coliseum for lattes, Lotto N Liquor for ads, Moleman for devices.) Decisions, decisions …
It is a very big hike, and interestingly, depending on how much you spend, you now get a “bonus” building, decoration, or character. Of course, I am sure that the price will come down again if the pound strengthens!
May be wrong place to post it, but I have noticed a couple of little glitches with the update. 1) Putting the Simpsons’ house into move mode, the square base does not align with the house 2) Whilst sending Burns to get extra latte I could not get his tick to clear. It kept scrolling to my money mountain. Probably because that’s where he is 99.9% of the time😂. Anyway not biggies, just sharing so people know they’re not alone (happened on my B game too btw)….💜X
I have just noticed that for the UK, the latest update appears to have increased the cost of donuts considerably. The largest amount has increased from £79.99 to £99.99. Has it increased in the US as week?
It’s not an ea thing it’s a tax thing from your app store. EAs prices are the same
MARKY- I watched a techy programme on tv yesterday. It confirmed that Apple would be putting up the prices of all Apps in UK from 0.79p to 0.99p due to the weak £ against the $. It could be something to do with that. Regardless of why, it’s pretty steep & will take a few more itunes birthday & Christmas vouchers before I can afford those Premium characters & items attached to Donuts!….💜X

I am lost on the 8 hour tasks for SH. I have all the currency buildings, have over $1B, and have both Manjula and Sideshow Mel, but they do not have the 8 hour task listed in their task lists. The only thing I haven’t done is increase storage, because frankly I don’t want to. Is this the answer? Do I have to increase storage to get the 8 hr jobs to unlock?
Yes, unlocking the jobs also unlocks more storage. Also, the jobs must be assigned from the buildings, they won’t show up on the task lists.

I was disappointed to realise/not remember there’s no sort of confirmation for unlocking characters when I didn’t intend to and did so by mistake, costing valuable yoga mats. I was even more disappointed to do it a second time…
Okay so we know about the requirements not met bug, but has anyone now not able to see the new tasks at all?
I can’t see them. Do I have to unlock all the new storage?
I don’t like complaining, cause this game in general is pretty awesome! There’s nothing that even compares in my opinion.
BUT… I was so happy to have everything updated and bought and filled up in Springfield heights, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to deal with it ever again. But I have no tasks to fulfill otherwise so of course I bought all the new land and am trying to refill my currency and get all the new jobs working. It’s more of a dealing with an annoyance though, not much fun.
And now something to spent all the SH currency.
I just unlocked the marketing agency and it seems it triggered Homer’s dialogue. Now I can do the 8 hour tasks. Hope this helps 🙂
