Chinese New Year is nearly upon us and the Simpsons are all about celebrating to earn a clean slate for the new year! So let’s clean house and pile up those donuts because there’s a store full of new Chinese New Year themed premium items just tempting us to spend sprinkles on them!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Dragon Bundle to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Dragon Decor to your Springfield…
Decoration/Building: Dragon Bundle
Donut Price: 100 Dounts
Earns: 2.25% bonus on all cash and XP each Dragon, so 6.75% total
Size: 4×4 base each, but they are TALL. Comparable to the man with the Tire at Honest John’s Computers.
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +200 each (so +600 total)
Leaves Stores January 31st, 2017.
Pros
-All three together earn a really nice bonus % for donuts spent.
-Animated when tapped, the white and gold cry rainbows and the red pulls out an imstrument, plays it and cries.
Cons
-They’re HUGE. While the base is small they’re incredibly tall for Springfield.
Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
I don’t mind this one if you’re a bonus % seeker. The bonus % offered for donuts spent is one of the best in the game. So if you’re looking to boost your bonus % this is a good way to do it. However, I would caution you to make sure you’ve got a place for the Dragons (all three of them) as there aren’t many buildings in Springfield you can hide them behind.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And I can tell you as a premium player, I’ll likely be picking it up. I like the idea of creating a China Town in Springfield and these will be a nice start to that. Just remember these are limited time , and will be leaving our stores next week. So be sure to make your final decision before they’re gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

I love dragons. Perhaps I wasn’t clear. I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE dragons. Not only is this a spectacular bonus percentage for the price, but they look great. Yes, they’re tall, but they’re still easier to place than some of the behemoth buildings we have (Neducation Center, most of the Heights buildings, etc.). For now, l have one on either side of my Chinese Acrobat Theater, and one behind it. Best decoration I’ve bought in ages.

The music that the red dragon plays doesn’t sound very Chinese…not the right kind of scale. And, if there’s one thing I can’t abide in a casual game app based on a cartoon show, is a lack of cultural accuracy! 😉

I just bought the three dragons. I do love a good bonus %, I’m working on making mine a bit more substantial, but after seeing that animation I was more than happy to spend my bonuts on them. Plus, I’m a huge Mulan fan and Mushu always makes me laugh, especially with the ‘dragon, dragon, not lizard, I don’t do that tongue thing’ bit. I’ve placed them in Heights for the moment because I have plenty of room there.
Mulan event started on the Disney Magic Kingdoms mobile game today.
I’m having issues trying to connect to the app, since yesterday. I was able to connect briefly this morning, and I bought the Dragon Bundle and the Great Wall. But once again I cannot come back.
I even erased the app and downloaded it again, but it won’t even download the rest of the stuff or let me log in once I open it.
Any advise?

Hmm… I’m thinking of making a “Chinatown” in my SF, but not sure if there’s enough stuff… There’s the Buddhist Temple, Madame Chao’s, and Chinese Acrobatic Theatre, and these new release items from this event… Any other Chinese stuff that I’m forgetting?
I know there’s the Happy Sumo, but that’s Japanese… I suppose I could put that Westerly-adjacent to my Chinatown so it’s close enough to add “Orient flavor” to the zone, and yet be geographically similar to China/Japan so as to be less offensive…
Anything I’ve missed?

Only problem with mine is you can’t see the musical instrument when tapping the red one… (unless you more room and place them farther behind the theater) Looks good while you are just scrolling through the town and looking at it like normal though.

Everything looks good in this mini event, but so far I’ve only bought the dragons. I think they look great… and that bonus!
Love dragons so bought right away! They are tall, (aren’t most dragons?) right now they are by my Buddist Temple, but you know me things move around in my town a lot😉.
Why would they cry? Did they cry in the show or are they just sad? I’m not too familiar with Chinese culture, so maybe that’s why. Just curious.

I placed my dragons and take home box around my Happy Sumo. Of course one has to be able to overlook the fact that the Happy Sumo is Japanese, and the dragons, take home box, and lanterns are Chinese.

I passed, they look good but I have plenty of dragons on DragonVale and DragonVale World to look at, 😛
Wanted these the most, so they’re the only thing I’ve bought so far. I put the red one by the Chinese theatre, the yellow one by the Buddhist temple, and the white one by the Happy Sumo. I kinda wish they didn’t look mildly drunk all the time, though.
I got the bundle immediately.
The white dragon is perched behind Superior Squad HQ. The red dragon is behind the Mountain Lodge, and the Yellow Dragon is peeking out over the mountains separating SH from the town – just behind the Simpson Family statues.
I also considered putting one of them in the park with the rainbow pride-trees.
I am a Dragon collector than this one was a no brainer, even for a freemium player. The percentage was a bonus for me but not a decider. Being from the year of the dragon! Trully enjoy their size. Kung Hey Fat Choy to all our Chinese friends and players. I met a Chnese addict in China, it was amazing! She could hardly speak English but we shared each other’s Springfield. She is since then one of my neighbourinos.

Howard…to each their own. Right? Some people don’t give a rat’s patoot about bonus modifiers (like me). We prefer characters that DO something…not just another way to boost bonuts so we we can get more characters that don’t. Or something like that…
Anyway…lots of ways to play the game. Give others their own way…ya?
I was kinda hoping the dragons were NPCs that could freely roamed around town, and still gave bonus %. To be honest, I wouldn’t really know where to place the dragons otherwise, since they’re so tall. IMO, Robby The Automaton would fit better as an NPC as well.
I really wish they could fly. Even if it’s just for a few seconds when you tap them.
