Chinese New Year is nearly upon us and the Simpsons are all about celebrating to earn a clean slate for the new year! So let’s clean house and pile up those donuts because there’s a store full of new Chinese New Year themed premium items just tempting us to spend sprinkles on them!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Great Wall to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this wall barrier to your Springfield…
Ok, so I’m just going to say this now…the jokes about the wall that many of you expressed yesterday are now done. Yes, it’s funny because of what’s happening…but it is only funny so many times. So let’s all move on from the wall jokes and discuss whether or not you’re adding it to your Springfield and now… Thanks!

How it Works: The MAIN tower (one with the Red Chinese Flag 
) is where you can generate more wall sections and Towers. (currently I don’t see a cap but I’ll to do more digging) Simply tap on it to construct more parts…similar to Squidport:
Pros
-Fun decoration to impliment in various areas of Springfield
-Additional wall sections only cost in game cash
Cons
-The bonus % offered for donuts spent isn’t that great.
-Walls are large and can be awkward to place
-You need to construct various towers to make turns with the wall
Final Thought
Premium:
Meh. Initially I thought this was hilarious (especially based on its release day) but as I played around with it & saw a ton of feedback from y’all about it (wishing you could take back your purchase) I’m having second thoughts on it. It’s funny & if you have a use for it..great. Go ahead and grab it. But I wouldn’t buy it because it’s funny. If you truly have no use for it, pass. The bonus % isn’t great and it’ll take up a ton of space in Springfield…plus it’s really awkward to place.
Freemium:
Honestly, I’d pass. It’s really large and isn’t worth the return on donuts spent. Freemium players..I’d pass.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And I can tell you as a premium player, I’m leaning on passing on it in my main game. I liked the idea of it but it is really awkward to place. Just remember this is limited time , and will be leaving our stores next week. So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

I tried to store the main section of the wall briefly, and it disappeared. It’s not in my storage and neither does it show up in the store! Any ideas? TIA
I’m using it to separate my wilderness from the town, looks good doesn’t take up too much room
Bought it because I think it looks cool – no regrets on my part, but I’m a freemium player so it didn’t actually cost me anything 🙂
I thought about buying the Great Wall and using it as the walls of a wilderness/nature park that I will be creating in my Springfield.
However, with all of the negative comments, I think that I might choose something else.
Anyone have a suggestion for a wall around a park?

Has anyone noticed that when you place a tower followed by the curve pieces you can’t actually put the wall along in a straight line as it won’t line up?

I have zero regrets, I know it’s large, I know it was pricey, but I love being able to make more pieces & they can be stored for later decorating 😁😁
Can you build all 3 different pieces at one go, or only one piece at a time? It’s not outrageously expensive for something that actually gives a bonus % and allows you to build stuff, so I can find a use for the wall to build a new prison district.
Ou can buy/build one piece at a time. One tower takes 24 hours, a wall piece takes 3 hours.

I never was.on the fence about this item…I like the look, and since I’ve been doing a slow redesign of my entire town following a nuke I have plenty of space to find a use for these..
I guess either way, buy, don’t buy, in the end…it’s just another bring in the wall(s)….
I like the concept of buying something that gives you the ability to make more pieces, but this particular implementation doesn’t work for me…I just don’t think I have anywhere to put those large, awkward walls.
Totally agree – I bought the cobblestone path immediately and love having another option for roads, but.. can’t pull the trigger on this one. I think there are enough fence/wall options to satisfy my town at this point. 🙂

This looked interesting but for me it was a choice between the wall and the junk. After these comments I’ll get the junk since ocean space is way less crowded.
I was on the “fence”(yeah pun intended!) about this, but with new update around the corner ..I think I’ll pass, but in regard to its size..is there any way you guys could post pics of SIB items against common existing items so we could see the scale – EA seems fascinated with making everything so big these days…seeing the scale of items would help in making up my mind

I like that I can make more towers and walls. I bought it right away. Very happy with how it looks and looking forward to having more sections to play with.
One-pay – then free expanding decoration? And giving obedience? Plus some bonus %. What is possibly there against buying? Never again drop of stars in obedience. And building walls is trendy today, isnt it?
Just to clarify, the star that tends to randomly drop in value is righteousness, not obedience. (The casino event brought us a lovely wall that contributes to righteousness and only takes up as much space as a standard fence, rather than something this huge. The permanent Training Wall is also an option, though it’s not easy to decorate with.) Obedience shouldn’t be an issue unless you’re just not maxed out on it, in which case this will definitely help.
I’m a fan of this. I like to build and design. This is fantastic! I would have purchased this with no bonus.
Glad I waited for the SIB post, but it is kind of making me want to buy it more. 😛 I’m a freemium player and buys 300 donuts often, and I bought flanders frozen car for 50 donuts, so why not? 😀 Still wish it melted and it sprayed water everywhere 🙁

That’s true lol, didnt think of it that way as I always run low on precious sprinkles. Since I am now earning some every week on the monorail and challenges, I shouldn’t have to make such a splurge 🙂
EA doesn’t mind if you splurge money on donuts, as long as you do it in TSTO. 🙂

The Chinese walls are as crooked as a monorail S-curve.

I’m intrigued by these. I like that there is a % bonus and that it isn’t a “place and done” kinda premium item. I know it’s a one time %, but I like the idea that you can craft more pieces over time. Any idea the max number of pieces you can craft? I feel like to a long time player with all land areas unlocked this would be a fun project.

I passed because I don’t see any way of adding these to my Springfield.
They still look cool and I’m sure many people will come up with creative ways to use them.
I thought it may look cool with making a Chinatown section in my Springfield. Is it really that big? I love Chinese buildings & love the Dragons. I guess it is sad & funny that it came out the same day.
It’s fairly large, and winds (there are no straights sections, so it’s a bit awkward to place.
See this is what I was waiting to hear. No straight pieces? Definite pass.
You can keep the towers straight, and just alternate the walls, just like you might with monorail tracks.
But at least from what I’m seeing in the imagery, they aren’t exactly straight, they are waved, and no that’s not a curve, but it’s not straight either…
I pass than . It would of looked cool if they made straight pieces.
The real Chines Wall doesn’t have any straight pieces in mountainous terrain.
I’m really glad you posted a ‘meh’ as that’s exactly how I feel about it. Everyone seemed to be buying it and I’m now very glad I held off.
1) Where to put it? Already got a castle! Awkward to place too…
2) Build time…Seriously I have no patience to wait for one part at a time!
3) It spends money that I will be spending elsewhere to get something better to spend my money on 😀

I grabbel the tower without hesitation. I am going to replace the castle walls for the Chinese ones I am fed up with those castle walls.
